I would like to know this, too. Generally speaking, how much better are late November prices versus prices now?

I've enjoyed reading through this thread and wanted to see if I have this summarized correctly: Basically there is little difference in performance between the various 1080 TI's. Essentially we're down to fan noise, negligible temperature difference, and 2-3% fps difference.

I've bought EVGA cards for a while, but I seemed to be reading a consensus emerge in this thread for the ASUS RoG Strix. My thought was to get the OC version so that I have a soft set-it-and-forget-it overclock out of the box. This looks to be slightly more expensive than other cards, but to this untrained eye, it seems like it has good temps and nice tweaks.

I'm thinking alot about that quote above. Timing is everything; it always is. There is always another upgrade coming, another sale. But in reading the news, it sounds like Volta may be later than we thought. Late Quarter 2 (June?) But there's a part of me that'd feel like a sucker for getting a 1080 TI now - after resisting for several months. If prices will be noticeably less in two months for the 1080 TI, maybe I can hold out a bit longer and still pat myself on the back later.

Don't think you're going to see major changes in price between now and Nov but there will obviously be some deals come black Friday.

Haven't seen anything about Volta being Q2 - where did you read that? Only thing I've heard from nVidia somewhat-recently is confirmation they definitely won't be out before end of year.

Assuming it's still a March'ish timeline, by Black Friday you're just 3-4 months out and at that point it may be better just to wait, if you've lasted this long.

Hopefully new cards would do HDMI v2.1 for my HTPC !

If you're contemplating a 1080ti (or any nvidia ti card for that matter), to be quite frank money doesn't matter much to you OR you've already valued these cards at $700-800+. These cards generally take a long time to drop in price, unless you score a black friday deal. Even then, you're not gonna get more than say $50-100 off.

I feel like I've said this in other GTX x80ti threads, but if you're on the fence about getting a 1080ti (or 1180ti or 980ti etc), you're probably just in here looking for validation . As for me, I've accepted the fact that I'm gonna be dropping about $800 every two years on a GPU (and selling my old one at usually around $300).

Not only that, Nvidia doesn't launch new chips with the flagship GPU. If you're waiting until the new chip, you're gonna get the 1170 midrange version, not an 1180ti. Or whatever naming convention they use. Maxwell technically launched with the 750ti (officially with the 970 and 980) and Pascal launched with the 1070.
