All that time spent on PhysX and Hairworks finally paid off.

I hope they keep going. They are making me some good money. I wonder if the stock will get a further boost once Nintendo announces the Super Switch. That's what I'm banking on.

I bought 20 bitcoin back in 2013 for $100 each....still got 10 of them....suffice to say that at more than x600, I've felt like this many times over the years.

Helped me retired at 50 just on what I sold, hope Nvidia can do nearly as well 👍😀

didn't they do this before last year? lol

I won't last long.
That's not surprising nor particularly funny. That's just how these things go.
These three top companies (Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple) will probably keep passing each other every few months over the next years.

This already happened a few months ago

Is it going to be news every time they play peek-a-boo? At least make some new memes for each time instead of recycling the first one lol

Yeah, pretty much.

On a side note, meanwhile I've spotted on Era that a lot of morons are laughing at this and claiming that "the AI bubble will probably burst soon".
Possibly forgetting that Nvidia isn't selling people hype and dreams, but selling hardware that basically any other company in this "race" is going to need in the next years.

I always figured if the “bubble burst” in AI it would just be the same as the dot com bubble bursting in 2000. IE it would just come back far bigger than ever. Not surprised they have the attitude as the 2 Russian farmers and the genie joke.

And I got into them in July of 2023 along with AMD, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple. They’ve made good returns but I’ve taken a beating on super micro computer and Pfizer.

How high do you think this Nvidia stock can reach? I'm just sitting on it scared that if I sold any I would be pissed if it goes higher.

I have no idea and I think I'm the same, scared to sell early and see it just go higher. That being said I've seen quite a few companies in my area leaning heavily on machine vision. I was working at a company and they were using it for body scanners in air ports. (FWIW they have to use machine vision because privacy concerns means the machine operater can not legally look at the images. Yes we used Nvidia cards.) Then I interviewed at a company that was using machine vision to scan pathology slides for cancers and interviewed at another that was using it for machine automation. It just seems that one part of AI has a lot of uses.

It's funny because when I bought the shares I knew nothing about Nvidia being a leader in ML. I just figured they were partnered with Nintendo and if I bought Nvidia and Nintendo shares I should see a nice return when Switch 2 gets announced. I still hope that happen but in the grand sceme of things that profit from Nintendo is chicken change to Nvidia.

So glad I dipped in at $100!
I go in a out probably 30 times per year, I buy at dips and sell when it goes up. Been doing this for about 10 years now. The stock has paid all my PCs, consoles, Pro, games, movies, couple guitars, all music and TV subscriptions, and more.

Not sure if I’ll stay during the coming report or if I take the earnings and go in again after things has stabilized. Are you staying?

Staying for now. I put 1K in M$ in 2001. It’s sitting at 59K right now. Also have some Apple stock. All have done amazingly well. Only stock i regret pulling out was Tesla. Needed money to pay some bills. Still made some nice returns.

Yeah they stock market as a whole has been crazy for a long time. I’ve had stocks in Apple and Microsoft too but nothing right now. I’m actually taking it slow until the US president election but I’m in with a smaller sum on Nvidia, can’t stay out, and ARM too.

Worst stock for me has been AMD. When I buy it goes down. Every single time. Had some bad luck with Tesla too. And Embracer.

AI hype can go both ways.

From another LLMs like breakthrough and demand explosion.
To meh, no fixes to hallucinations, doesn't work as advertised and competitors grabbing market share.
(google's custom chips used by Apple and Google itself, AMD's chips, etc)

90% of NV's business is driven by AI hype.

And it doesn't really matter either way, because at least for the next 10 years companies will keep TRYING and Nvidia is in the unique position of producing the hardware they'll need for it.

Those 3 are now changing positions every couple of months. Couple years ago no one would think that MS can overtake Apple and apparently intel had an opportunity to buy nVidia for 20bn USD some years ago but they didn’t close the deal.

He probably should, they make most money of the AI hardware they sell to MS and Google so should give a break to players.

Exact reason they won't, when they can sell all the high end silicon wafers they can buy for much higher margins in AI chips. That's why the 5000 series has been pushed to next year.

Capitalism be capitalism, that's why I'm really hoping Intel keeps in the game for a few generations more and become a viable third player. The leader of the duopoly is in too high demand and AMD has frankly been trailing them for years.

That's what people thought about Pets.com in 2000 also.
