It actually might make more sense to see what happens with ps4k or xb1.5 type hardware and match/beat that at this point.

Zelda being the only playable Nintendo game at E3 can't be real. The March launch date and no news at E3 was already exceptionally disappointing even by Nintendo standards. At this point they hit rock bottom and decided to just pull out the deep sea drilling equipment. o_o

I did and I've said it in previous posts but I'm not going to lie. The delay of Zelda is a massive blow.

I'm surprised they delayed Zelda yet another year.
Hopefully the extra time for the NX is worth it. Cancelling production on the Wii U and then not having a new product to replace it with in the same year is a strange choice, especially with it having more games coming this year.

In a delay I was talking about the rumours/various leaks that would hint at a release in 2016, along with Zelda WiiU/NX, but it's clearly not the case now.

The NX is going to be competing against the PSVR for mind share at that point, except a potentially risky and unproven device like PSVR will have months to get it's shit together. The holiday sales and new 3rd party releases will have already been out.

I really think it will be March 2017 for a handheld, holiday 2017 for the console.
That's enough time to see how those power bumps affect 3rd parties and how well received they are at $400+ from holiday 2016.
I think that will determine at least some of the power and spec target of the console and handheld.
Having a slow coasting 2016 isn't the end of the world. They shouldn't rush their next move.

On another note, they can't just not talk about NX at E3, right? I mean, they just said Zelda will launch on it and they're blowing out Zelda at E3. You know people will pry left and right for NX info. We all saw how crazy the leaks and rumors are now, imagine if NX is really a no show and the amount of info that leaks out from third parties during E3...

I don't understand why the gaming community is so focused on the stationary console portion of the NX platform. It's obviously going to be a handheld centric device.
3DS will end up selling 6 times more than Wii U and they actually have notable 3rd party franchises in Japan, whereas they got nothing on the console front. Nintendo is also more interested in capturing the mobile audience as opposed to going after the console multiplat gamer.

At least they're releasing at the same time. If I recall, Twilight Princess for Gamecube came out AFTER it released on the Wii in every region but Japan.

Oh this brings up one more question. People were port begging for Final Fantasy VII:HD Remake Part 1 to be launched day one with the NX. With the actual release of the console being so late, I wonder if Square Enix would even bother to try and port it in time.
. Then again this will be in developers hands a lot earlier, but I wonder at this point if they just see it as an afterthought.

That is true tbf. Maybe not worse, that's difficult to achieve. But I am having a hard time imagining what else they'll show or how they'll fill that hour.
Well I'm all in on PSVR and possibly PS4K this year (VR priority tho). This might actually work in Nintendo's favour. If it's a good proposition and has some good games ready for launch (presumably Zelda) and if I get a bonus from work (50/50) then I'll likely be interested in buying on launch.
It must be a good console though, if it's massively lagging behind technically I just don't know how invested I can be, as it could end up like Wii U all over again. And I hope to god they sort out a good name and branding for it. Enough of the Wii, this must be new.
