They don't care about wasting tax dollars. And they hate the media. It would be to just benefit the base. Fox could spin it in their favor and that would be that. Far fetched I know, but this is like my brains defense mechanism to stupid.

If there is no proof of information being exchanged, then it's 'attempted collusion' which apparently is not a crime?

I don't know. I would imagine that willingly working with a foreign government to undermine our election would be illegal, but without evidence he could absolutely get away with it.

What I meant was about what this "means", because insofar as I see ive read so many "This is the moment" things and nothing has happened that I am genuinely becoming numb to any new information that came out. If its something id like someone who is well educated and sound in these things to tell me its something, why its something and what the impact will be, if its nothing id like the same, as such I expect it to be another "Ill forget about it in a week when the hyperbole has died down."

You know what I'm waiting for? I'm thinking there has to be some kind of shadow conspiracy within the US government designed to keep these fools away from actual, damaging information or capacity. Like I can't imagine that the person who is holding the nuclear football hasn't had a long conversation with their superiors about what to do if Don goes for it. Or the IC surely has stopped sharing truly sensitive data with him, if they ever did, out of fear that he will do something catastrophic with it and endanger lives. So anyway, I'd love to read a tell all book about that. It might take 10 years or more, but I bet we'll see it.

Jr. tweeted out last page of email stuff little bit later after first 3 pages of stuff, NYT article could be referencing to stuff that was on that last page.

Where is this report has it said, "this is the moment"? The reporting is straight forward. They posted his emails. Commentary and analysis on what this means comes later.

This just seems so weird. It's not surprising that Jr. is stupid, but why would the Russians pick such an incompetent messenger? The guy literally stated multiple times in what seems like intentionally overly-direct language that it was information from the Russian government to aid the campaign? No coded language, no hinting, nothing? It reads as though he went to extra lengths to make sure there was incriminating evidence.

So odd.

No one can say for sure what the impact will be. It's possible that Trump could be impeached sooner rather than later based on this information. It's also possible that the GOP will spin this information forever.

As far as Mueller's investigation, we have no idea how long that will take, but I doubt it will be finished in 2017. It's a massive task, and Mueller will want to have a complete picture and have chased down every lead before issuing his final report.
