I'm actually concerned that the e-mail says the information was on Hillary's dealings with the Russian government. That makes it sound like she might have her own backwater dealings. After we lop off Donny and the Gang's heads for treason, I would like a similar investigation opened against her.

Bingo... if there goal was just to get the information out there, why hand it to Trump and co and not just release it into the wild? It doesn't really matter how damning information gets out there as long as it does get out there.
They wanted Trump's campaign embroiled on this because best case scenario they get their boy Trump inside to help them out, and worse case scenario the political parties would start tearing themselves to pieces.
