Was Avellone a writer on PoE1? I did not know that. I hope he wasn't responsible for the lore-bomb dropping NPCs, which was one of the very few things that PoE2 actually did better than PoE1.

2015 - Pillars of Eternity - Writer
This was his last project before leaving Obsidian.
Technically Tyranny (Original world and story designer), but it was released after he left.

There definitely is a lot more attention to detail in Witcher 3.
But we can go through the Avowed vs Skyrim video and lets see how many points compare to Witcher 3.
Anyone can make a video of creation engine vs KCD, Witcher 3, Mass effect, etc and make them look bad. That's what grifters do. Anyone can see how to approach making those RPGs look bad with Creation's physics, persistence or radiant AI.
You took the twist of "well here's details that..." That's not what I asked. Creation engine vs the rest.
Like Mass effect. Funny how you ignored that one all this time though. I know why.
Again missing the point entirely. If you compared witcher NPC routines to creation engine and in particular radiant AI, you could grift peoples into thinking its a stinker.
They basically react to is it sun? out, is it night? bed. Is it raining? cover. That's it, they don't have a schedule.
At 4:22 NPC routine in Skyrim. This is essentially absent in Avowed. While not as pronounced as Skyrim, its still present to some extent in Witcher 3. Read this thread.
Totally absent in Mass effect. Witcher 3 is so basic routine. Purpose of my post is that showcasing Skyrim next to it would also put those games to shame
At 5:37 attacking friendly NPCs and city guards in Skyrim. You can't do that in Avowed. In Witcher 3 you can't attack friendly NPCs but you can attack city guards.
again, another point where making a video of skyrim vs witcher 3 or mass effect would easily make them look bad. Yet nobody cares do they? No grift with that I guess.
When I arrived in the first village, the tutorial popups warned me that I should be careful not to do anything that would draw the attention of the guards. I ignored this advice and went right to l...
This is just barely scratching the surface of attention to detail in Witcher 3. Witcher 3 is better than than Skyrim in many other ways like the branching quest system, rpg mechanics and inventory management. In many Kingdom Come Deliverance has amazing attention to detail.
As an RPG, what has Avowed going for it unlike Kingdom Come Deliverance and Witcher 3?
Anyone with intention to make a grift could make these RPGs look bad, its so fucking easy. That's the whole point. You even proved it multiple times by saying "well its not skyrim but.."
What does Avowed have going for it? Combat dude. Way way way better than all of the above RPGs.
Eh, I will have to disagree. I found PoE1 boring and bland (expansion was decent).
Po2 had more interesting systems, better gameplay and much, much better side quests. Heck, those were the real "meat" of the game and not the main storyline.

Yeah, I specifically include The White March when I say that I prefer PoE1. One of my main criticisms is exactly that the main "storyline" of PoE 2 was... almost not there, tbh. And that there wasn't really any consequences of note if you sided with the Trading Company or the Huana. I expected more after New Vegas' faction system. Combat is "meh" in both games, but that's a given, since both are unfortunately real-time with pause (yes, they've patched in turn-based in PoE2 but did not change the encounter design... apparently that's one of the things they want to do better with the upcoming turn-based mode for PoE1, which I am anticipating more than I thought).
