This outrage seems to be more politically motivated than actual empathy. To use this video as an indictment of our morality by comparing it to executions and death is a stretch.

You keep missing my point, I am comparing the reactions of people to death and suffering, which are callous. Being pepper sprayed and being executed are two completely different things. People cheering for one, and laughing at another however, are examples of people being callous, empathy-lacking beings, which I find disgusting and deplorable.
While the people who cheered for executing people are not the same as the ones laughing at others pain, they aren't that far off. And by pain I mean the direct inflicted pain by one person against another, not someone getting hurt by doing something stupid.
