October 2015 NPD (U.S. Hardware) Predictions - Closes November 10th

Typically, I'd say Microsoft's silence is deafening, but didn't they say they were distancing themselves from how much the XB1 sold and instead revealing other statistics like XBL subscriber numbers? I wonder if that's why there's no PR from them. Maybe they don't feel a need to spin like they had in the past.

No, we're just trying to find the intern we had who wrote the PR. He was let go recently.

Are we seriously not gonna get even basic top 10 NPD info anymore?

That was a joke. NPD_George is a Neogaf user, that people were jokingly saying was on the NPD Board since a guy on the board's name is George.

They are saying that he told NPD to no longer release numbers. It was all a joke. We should get the top 10 software sales.

I get the feeling they're kinda defeated and are turning their backs on certain practices entirely and just riding this gen out as quietly whilst boasting about their greatest ever line up TM.

Nintendo PR should be coming up in next 15 mins or so based on past months so might get a first idea. That or there's been an issue with the numbers.

If they won, they'd shout it from the rooftops. I'm not saying they didn't win, but a win would be absurd to sit on.

As the best-selling console in the U.S. in October, fans set record October sales and engagement for Xbox One last month, Xbox One console sales in the U.S. increased 63 percent in October 2015 compared to October 2014 and Xbox Live comparisons showed the number of active global users [Xbox One and Xbox 360] grew 24 percent. We are grateful to our fans for their passion and support.

XB1 sold 168K last year which means:

XB1 ~274K
PS4 < 274K

much lower sales than everyone expected.

What? That can't be the correct PR can it?

That would result in less PS4 sales then last year?

That would be... a pathetic price cut "boost".

Is that a real PR? Because that's a pretty poor number for Halo 5's release month. Also, pretty bad for a PS4 price cut if it's lower than that.

Not when they're going to lose the following month (potentially).

Honestly, I expect little (even positive) sales PR from MS going forward for the rest of the gen.
