So i am interested in Skryim. So are both the OR and this required for that?
Skyrim has no official support so you need sth like vorpX but i would say wait for first impressions.
I think you will get the first impressions here in the next hours

Thanks. I was watching videos with people playing Skyrim a bit ago so they must have hacked it? But this seems like the best overall way to do it for sure.
there are other drivers like vorpX already out. Vireio and TriDef.
But it looks vorpX has really great stuff to better control the UI, watch cutscenes etc. The other drivers just do the 3D effect but do nothing to enhance other stuff like UI.
Played this for the first time at the eurogamer expo and for me it was by far the most "next gen" experience at the show. Neither PS4 or Xbox one impressed me like this. Its absolutely surreal, the feeling of being inside the world being completely immersed. This coupled with the kinect 2 is the next step in gaming. For the first time in a game I shouted omg in the middle of a crowd.
This is true next gen gaming.
And that's why Sony is working on their own VR headset.
Problem for Sony could be that, if they push VR hard, they could make their PS4 looking bad compared to good PCs.
It´s not like people who buy a 300$ Headset would not build a 700$ PC or buy a 999$ Steambox.
The biggest thing that ruins injection drivers for me is the narrow field of view. It really kills most of the immersion that the rift provides.
Can you explain that a bit more?

Not sure the ps4 is powerful enough for Vr.
Don't you have to render an image 2 x at 60 fps one time for each eye ?
They would have to tone down the games on already ok looking games.
Has anyone received theirs from the latest batch yet? Mine is apparently sitting waiting to be shipped.
This is what I'm very concerned about. Will the next gen consoles be powerful enough for VR?
Palmer Luckey said:Realistically, we're not targeting any specific resolution as "this is the right resolution" because until we get to that 8k by 8k or higher resolution, we just want it to be as high as possible. We're at 1080p in the prototypes that we're showing, but we'd like to push it even beyond that.
Palmer Luckey said:vsync -- yes, you really need to do it, or the whole world appears like it's tearing. And you really need at least 60 frames a second. Right now we're saying 60 because that's what our hardware is capable of running, but if we had a display that could run at 90 frames a second, it makes a huge difference. Enough where you're going to want to run at 90 frames a second as often as you can.
Got an email about a week ago saying "it's getting ready to be shipped and you will be notified when it does in 24-48 hours" or something. Nothing came and I got worried
Got an email yesterday with tracking info saying it's in Dublin and should be delivered tomorrow lol
Got mine today!It's fricken awesome
Though for the 15 minutes I was using it it made me kinda dizzy so it will take a while before I get used to it, if I ever do.
Still messing around with stuff though and not really sure if the IPD is correct or if the lenses are the right ones. Is everything in the distance in the Tuscany demo supposed to be blurry and indistinguishable as part of the low res? or is that bad calibration?

Probably mostly the low res but try moving it up and down on your face a little. For me, there's definitely a sweet spot where everything is clearest.
For the love of god.... can somebody try VorpX and Deus Ex Human Revolution?![]()
Yeah I messed around a little with the distance of the lenses and tried different lenses and it became a bit clearer as well as good positioning on my head
Such a freaky fucking experience walking around in a game. Gives you a real sense of dizziness at first though.
A 1080p version would be insane\
I think this is just the way the Rift and lenses work, and there's not really a way to fix the center being clear and the edges being blurry. Maybe I'm wrong though, or maybe someone come up with different lens tech.I'm still not sure what lenses I should be using or the physical distance of them from my eyes. When I go to do the IPD test the edges of the text box are really blurred but the center is clear as day
Not sure if my IPD is set right either, though I do follow the test multiple times

I think being able to move the lenses left and right would work, so you can physically separate them or bring them closer together. Cos not everyone's eyeballs are the same distance apart and there's only so much the IPD calibration can do
So should I buy Vorpx? What's this about horrible DRM?
I know the feeling well. I'm chomping at the bit for it, but I'm afraid getting the developer one with the screen door effect would turn me off of it in the long run. They need to come out with this shit sooner. I'm so ready to buy a devkit but knowing that the HD prototypes are so much better is forcing me to wait it out. It's killing me, though.
I haven't tried it so I can't comment on how well it works but when you buy it, you have to wait for the developer to manually activate you and send you a key. This is taking 2 or 3 days+ for a lot of people. Also, you can only activate it on 2 computers and if you do any kind of significant upgrade it will see it as a different computer and you will need to contact customer support to get it manually activated again.
