How the hell was that not a flagrant foul?? I don't care what league or game you're playing, slew footing a player like that is disgraceful. Stern should be fining Duncan 100k, not Gundy.

Disgusting.

Are you talking about the foul Duncan was called for when it was obviously clear that Melo just slipped?

That was a terrible call, especially for a 6th foul. Still an absolutely monster game by him.

Who is going to beat San Antonio in a 7 game series?

The only team I can see doing it is Detroit, and I still think San An is the better team.

The only team they have lost to in like a 100 years is the Lakers and a big part of that was that the Lakers just owned the Spurs mentally.

What discernable skills does Kenyon Martin have? Besides being a decent post defender (and a strong finisher), what exactly can he do? He's like a very poor man's Amare Stoudemire.

EDIT- Btw, Denver is the dirtiest team in the league. By far.

I can't see Miami ever beating the Spurs. They just aren't in the same class IMHO.

Now if Shaq goes back in time to 2001 they have a chance, but that shit ain't happening.

If it is Miami/Spurs, watch Wade become ordinary against their defense. The role players won't get shit. And Shaq's 25 a game won't be nearly enough to pull it out.

Thats understandable, but Wade is hungry for a trophy, i cant see him losing in a 7 game series with this team.

Believe it or not, the Heat is his team.

He has a decent jumper but his post offense is truly pathetic. He is pretty worthless in halfcourt situations being guarded by someone his size. He better thank Kidd all day for his contract :lol

Kenyon Martin is a worthless waste of space in a basketball court. He will need severe psychological attention after Wednesday with all the scars from the multiple times TD has fucked with his mind.

A few gems from the list of shortest books in existance...

Unbelievable! Karl had the nerve once again to call out the refs. Thank God for Pop.

Mad props to Little Earl on his big game. One of the few respectable members of that team.

Only the Lakers could pull that shit off. Never forget 0.4.

or 0.0 when Devean George shot that halfcourt shot after the buzzer

And isn't it nice that every year in the NBA playoffs there are tons of problems with the officiating and yet Stern does nothing but hand out fines and make tyranical threats? I hope Stern pays another visist to Arco next season, we'll make him the founding soil for the new arena.

Stern went on to call Van Gundy the first NBA "perpetrator" he could ever remember who did not cooperate with a league investigation, and he likewise put no boundaries on the next round of penalties Van Gundy could face if he doesn't answer the league's questions.

I swear it's like the fucking mafia going after a rat.

If Gundy was fined 100K for his comments, Karl should be fined 5 times more for all the whining he has done and insinuating Manu doesn't know how to play basketball, yet the refs let him get away with it.

"A little birdy tells me you won't make it back to Houston"

010117jvg1a.jpg

:lol :(

He stood by his complaints Monday and said he's made many of them privately to the league all season.

"I said what I said. I believe what I believe and I've seen what I've seen. They've got to do what they think is right," Van Gundy said. "I would watch all of (Yao's) 20 fouls with anyone. And I would have no problems making my case that he's not refereed appropriately. I stand by that."

For the most part, though, Van Gundy cracked jokes about the fallout, saying things like his wife might make him sleep on the porch. He also laughed about the fine coming from league vice president Stu Jackson, who in 1989 was coach of the Knicks and hired Van Gundy as an assistant.

"Stu brought me into the NBA so he giveth, and now he taketh away," Van Gundy said.

He teased the team's PR director, who was standing next to him, for allowing him to speak to reporters on a travel day -- "Gee, no more non-mandatory media days for me," he said -- and especially got a kick out of his fine being "double worst" the previous largest, a $50,000 hit on Pat Riley in 2003 and Phil Jackson in 2004.

"If that's the worst thing that's happened in the NBA from a coaching perspective, so be it," he said.

As for protecting his source, Van Gundy practically rolled his eyes at his refusal to give up his friend during his conversation with league security.

"I felt like I was in Watergate or something," he said.

When told about reporters who are facing 18 months in jail for protecting sources, Van Gundy laughed and said, "My guy would have to be on his own. I'd cut him loose."

:lol

Van Gundy clarified that his complaints aren't with the officials, but with the way officials are asked to call games _ such as having certain points of emphasis.

"Believe me, I've been blessed to make enough money that if this goes to good causes, that's a good thing," said Van Gundy, in the second year of an $18 million, four-year contract.

However, he may not have to pay the whole thing. Yao offered to split the fee because "coach was talking about me."

"I feel I need to do it that way," Yao said.

Cuban, who has been fined more than $1 million since buying the team five years ago, found little irony in someone getting fined for comments involving him and his pet target, the way officials do their job.

"It's nice to see someone else buying the coffee and danish for the NBA," he said.

Can someone in Houston punch Cuban in the face for me during game 6?

RealGM, WizFans Motivate Dixon As Washington Ties Series

RealGM - Juan Dixon followed a 1 for 10 performance on Saturday with 35 points on Monday to help the Wizards even the series at two games a piece. Gilbert Arenas chipped in 23 points in the 106-99 victory.

Dixon was apparently inspired by the Message Board occupied by both RealGM.com and WizFans.com, where they have a thread that a friend showed him which is titled, "The Amazingly Sucky Juan Dixon Thread." The thread can be read here, while a mp3 of the interview, provided by forum member Broohaha, is available for review here.

"I definitely wanted to throw that back in their face," Dixon said after the game.

Dixon was tipped off to the board by a close friend.

All I read here was "hate hate hate...2001...hate hate hate *sob* hate hate hate...buy I sure wish my team had a real 2-guard like Wade."

You must not be looking forward to a whole playoffs's worth of endless bragging and trash-talk and Shaq Facts from me and the rest of the Heat faithful this year, are you? :D :lol :p PEACE.

Sonics can easily beat the Spurs in a 7 game series. If it weren't for the fact Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Radmanovic and Nate MicMilllan missed the last two games the Sonics would have swept the Spurs.

That's a fact. The Spurs simply don't have any defenders to guard Lewis and Radmanovic. Ray Allen is tough enough as it is, providing Bruce Bowen doesn't employ his usual thuggery against All-Star type level players. Honestly, when they face each other, I'm hoping Fortson cracks Bowen right upside his grill -- just to serve notice.

He sat out of last night's game with some kind of "flu". Wiz fans are saying the news out there is that he was mad about his PT and refused to play..

I don't place much faith in regular season records going into the playoffs. I am sure it will be a touch series against the Sonics and it might even go 7 games, but I will generally take a team that has the experience over a team that is just getting there. Though if Ray Allen continues to shoot like he did against the Kings, all bets are off. I didn't watch the Sonics games where they beat the Spurs so I don't know how they played when they did it, but it is hard to see them scoring a lot of points inside against them and I don't know if they have the patience to movie it around until they get a good shot.

My prediction is San An in 6 games.

Regardless though, it should be a kickass series.
