Did Shaq ever re-sign with the Heat?

I wonder what he is going to do if they don't win the championship....

Win or lose, why would he not re-sign? There are like 3 good teams in the East (if you count Indiana with Artest) and he can coast to the end of his career there while winning a title if Duncan or Ben Wallace gets injured :lol

Fuck Detroit fans for cheering when AI came up limping.

What a bunch or sorry bastards.

Watching these playoffs I realize how very few announcers I can enjoy that are out there. John Thompson only has a job so he can suck off players he use to coach.

"If you give Allen someone else who can score he'll adjust his game"

Really? Because Philly has tried that with Stackhouse, Glenn Robinson, Van Horn and now Webber and none of them worked.

And who else is there? Kerr? Spurs homer. Jack Ramsey? Captain Obvious. AL Michaels? Go back to football. Mike Torico? Is that you Orin? There's like a handful I can listen to now. Kevin Harlan, Tom Tolbert and Doug Collins.

goddamit, Griese!
yeah, you know everyone always rips philly fans...well, pistons fans are equally bad if not worse.

i'm not going to say detroit fans because i've never seen lions or red wings fans do anything bad....but pistons fans? assholes

marv alberts and doug collins are the only true top-notch announcers around. tom tolbert is fucking terrible

bill walton is a hilarious announcer, but i don't hear him very often anymore.

I didn't see you complaining when the Philly crowd cheered when Prince went down in Game 4. It's still crap though...

He is going to come back to LA to piss you off Konex.

I could see Shaq going to a better team if he doesn't win this year. The problem is always going to be his contract though. Who knows what he will do, but he is a free man after this season and can do whatever he wants.

Edit: You can't compare Philly fans to Detroit. They are up 3-1 and they are still cheering when someone gets hurt? Zero class. Even if that weren't the case, the brawl just shows they are the worst fans in the country.

What other team has the cap room to eat $30 mil a year while remaining "better"? o_O The only reason Mimai has a good supporting cast is cos Wade is still on his rookie deal...

PS: Shaq's under contract for next year btw...

He is under contract but I think he has the option to leave after this one.

You have to be crazy to think that half the teams in the league are not going to do everything to get Shaq after this season. Will he leave Miami? I have no idea, but I could see him leaving if someone could offer him something better.

I think he excercised his option during the trade somehow. Miami owes him 30.5 mil next year according to realgm and it's not listed as a player option...

Sunshine Network has the best pair of announcers on the planet. I don't know their names, they are just that good. :D Seriously though, if I have a chance, I watch all Heat games on Sunshine. PEACE.

Look at those names you listed. Stack is a career loser. Robinson fell off the map. Van Horn...let's not talk about journeyman token whiteboy Rick Van Horn. How he's still collecting an NBA paycheck is beyond me. I got more fucking game than Van Horn. And C-Webb is a hollow shell of former choke-aholic self. Are any of those guys names that spring to mind when you think of championship-building?

John Thompson is right. Philly ain't had shit to help out AI yet, and it's questionable if they ever will. His career will end with no rings. But it doesn't mean he ain't one of the best guards ever. If he had Shaq this year, he might well be rewriting scoring records as we speak. I mean, for a small guy like him who gets nothing buy heat, he could use another notable player to help split the load. PEACE.

AI is frickin' unbelievable. He really is something special that you don't see too often in this league. He needs some help...more than just CWho?.

AI is a good guy. One tough sumbitch.
Ugh, Detroit (Piston and Red Wing) fans suck ass. Stern needs go to medieval them.

Whoa! First I'm hearing of this. I thought The Heat was waiting to exercise that option on his contract. I love Shaq, but I don't know if he's worth the money right now. But to his credit, he single-handedly brought Heat basketball to a whole other level. If you're down here in Miami, you know what I mean. Since Day 1 of that trade, there has been endless Shaq love, and the championship talk was in full swing. Wade and the role players have been the ones to step up this year, but it's no question that Shaq is the reason for this great boost in confidence. We could probably do well next year without him, but that would be an insult IMO. For what he's done in just this season, I think he deserves to leave on his own terms. Even a hobbled, end-of-career Shaq is still an incredible bonus to this team and this city. Viva La Shaq!!! PEACE.

seattle end this sham of a series tonight please

i would enjoy seeing a suns-sonics matchup in the conference finals, but i'm not sure that will happen since the sonics are going to run into an unstoppable juggernaut in round 2

You're missing the point. Even if he was a free agent, NO other team could offer him anything close to his current salary because they'd have to be $30 million under the cap to do that, which is impossible. The most any other team could offer him would be a starting salary at ~12 million a year.

I bet it pisses you off that the Lakers will make the playoffs next year and the Niners are going to be moved to CFL. ;)

RAY ALLEN

Jeez, how many steps did he take on the way to the basket? :lol

two, quite obviously. anyway, i hope the spurs beat the nuggets tomorrow -- that way, seattle will have the easier semifinal matchup.

Considering that Kobe had the full support of Konex behind him he is lucky just to be alive.

Konex is going to be a T-Mac fan next year and we get to see what Kobe can do without the Konex principle hanging over his head.

blah

Kings inside help defense stunk this whole series and tonight as well. Slow, slow slow slow. Even on that Ray Allen layup, Miller and Peja were just watching the ball.

And it takes Adleman 5 games to figure out Evans(WHO IS NOT A ROOKIE) on Allen and even then it's by accident. I have no idea what happened to Mobley. He got injured, but I never saw the play.

How can the Kings afford to have both Bobby Jackson and Bibby on the same team?

Because Bojax is still on his original contract he signed years ago, but I think there is an option on it for the off-season. They might wait it out and see or pay up to keep him longer. Depends on what moves they make, I think Cuttino is gone and I think they are looking to made a trade if they can get a big name.

If it weren't for the fact that Yao pulled a Nick Anderson circa 1994, Rockets fans wouldn't even be bitching about the supposed "FIX".
