What the hell has happened to Moto GP?

That series a few years back was awesome with all the close racing - now it's just the Ducati show. I won't be watching it anymore as I don't like that pinhead Aussie Stoner.

Also, well done to Toseland on his debut ride. :D
All I'm reading from this post is "I'm a Rossi fanboy - why isn't my man winning GPs anymore!? *cry*"

this week!? wow, comes round so quickly. Aah, my little oasis of autosports plus Sunday nap is here again.

Lets hope ITVHD gets at least the british GP in HD. The Daytona 500 was so great looking.

Look at the excitement!

FREE PRATICE #1 IN 1:30MIN

ITV is broadcasting all free practice sessions online, best thing they've ever done.

Have to be UK resident to view.

Aw fuck really? Damn, my proxy works on lots of UK websites, but ITV's plugin fucks around with the browser and doesn't work, damnit :(

You know what pisses me off! Speed Tv and their shitty re-air timing! I almost always miss the Sunday races. Before they used to show the 250 and GP at 5-6pm, back to back on Tuesdays. Now they show the fucking premier class at 4 AM!!! 4 Fucking AM!

shit, ITV doesn't fucking support Mac for viewing video. Can I be arsed with parallels and explorer just for this? Maybe.

You do realise you can watch US Speed Channel on TVUPlayer too? Normally you'll get FP1 covered and sometimes both sessions.

I wish Poison Dwarf hadn't shit-canned F1 Digital+. 8 screens, live data, uncensored non-delayed Team Radio, dedicated onboards, dedicated pits, dedicated interviews, exclusive interviews with every single drive and team, dedicated leaders camera, dedicated midfield camera. Best sports coeverage ever that was. Best sports coverage ever for the season it existed, 2002.

Fucking hell this live stream is shit.

Jerky as fuck and no sound. And now I've lost it completely.

Both BMW's begin 2008's first official timed laps. Albeit just shakedowns :lol

EDIT: stream just went down. As ever epic quality from Chav TV.

ITV sure know how to stream. I don't think I can be bothered now. The sound is starting to sound like a 56k modem.

Oh man, this is like watching a slideshow.

ITV have really nailed the sound quality though. It sounds awesome through my iMac's speakers. VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Right, sod this, I'm off to bed. ITV-F!.com just fell off the internet too.

Also: LOLS at Honda's pit crew trousers and shorts.

Can anyone confirm if F1 is in HD this year? At this point, I'm gonna have to choke some bitch named Bernie.

It isn't. Hey man at least we finally got some 16:9 last year. It's filmed using Panasonic HD camera's though but Bernie doesn't want to pay the extra for the satellite bandwidth that HD requires.

Am I the only one who will be happy when Bernie is not involved in any shape or form with F1 anymore? :lol

Second practice starts in an hour...try out http://www.myp2p.eu for some extra streams.

I forgot how much I missed seeing and hearing these cars...great to see it back.

Tempretures are just insane there...mid 90's in the air, 115f on the track.

BTW, Kimi's lap earlier was about three hundreths of a second off last year's pole time. :lol

Yeah huge heatwave in Adelaide, and Melbourne is copping it today (40C degrees) too. Weather will drop tomorrow then pick back up to 36C on Sunday.

Good thing is that the humidity is relatively low.

Well Hamilton takes out 2nd practice session. Raikkonen in at 6th, both Red Bulls in top 5.

No, just a fan of Toseland and close competitive racing of which we won't get this year... again. The Ducati is going to waltz its way to the title due to the fact that it's the fastest bike in a straight line by nearly 15km/h

Wow @ Honda, maybe not so shit afterall? :bow In Ross Brawn We Trust :bow

Also, why don't ITV run the pratice sessions on one of their digital channels? They have four of them - idiots.

Try being trackside it was horrible. As much as i loved the sight, sounds, and smell of the cars roaring past it was really hot :( Tomorrow should be alot cooler, around 32C, but back up to 36 for race day!

No more traction control is evident when you see cars sliding in the corners alot more :)

Webber second? You reckon these times are anywhere indicative of actual pace or are we having another sandbag show from the top two?

They've got the rights to show them on the ITV F1 website (if you live in the UK / use a UK proxy)

considering Kimi P2 time was nearly 3 seconds slower than P1?

Yeah, they are sandbagging. Im expecting a repeat of last years first race.

Would a kind gentlemen point me to either:

A) a website on how to use a proxy for the inept net-user, me
or
B) a handful of google words to search for that will bring up a variety of websites to help me with A

Hammy had a lovely slide early in the second session...just looked delightful. It'll be fun to such slides throughout the year.

No. Basically you want to throw shit at Casey Stoner.

Sure he creamed the competition in 2007 riding a Ducati, but the next closest Ducati that year was Capirossi at 7th place, then Barros at 10th. 2006 was close, but surely you seem to be forgetting 2005 where Rossi flogged the championship by 147 points, quite a margin larger than what Stoner did last year. Yet you throw your toys around and demand a competitive season? :lol

The simple fact is every few years or so there comes a champion of champions who rides like a man possessed, annihilating the competition by 50-150 points at the end of their winning seasons. Off the top of my head - Doohan was one for Honda, Rossi for both Honda and Yamaha, and if Stoner keeps going he may turn out to be one as well. What bike he rides may help but ultimately it's the person doing the driving, not the vehicle controlling them.

It really seems that Hamilton is strugeling little without track control. Well not much as Massa but still, I think loosing the TCS is going to benefit Raikkonen and Kovalainen a lot.

Effect of absence of TCS is not shown much in Melbroune but if anyone watched early test drives then you could clearly see the difference between Massa and Kimi. Hamilton and Kovalainen are pretty much on bar but i still think Heikki has bit better control of the car without the TCS.

BTW I'm going to bet some money on sundays race and i was wondering what are the chances for Mass do better in this race than Kimi. I could gain nice mount of cash if Mass would win but still...

Right now i'm betting

Raikkonen > Massa - already placed my bet
Kovalainen > Hamilton - already placed my bet
Barrichello > Button - already placed my bet

EDit: Fuck it, i'm a pussy and i will bet for Kimi.

Nice job by Red Bull, I'm really curious to see if they do well in qualifying as well. Team taking there race fuel into the Q3 will make things a bit confusing possibly.

Stoner is a huge talent for sure, but most important, the Ducati supports the kind of riding style he does, it's like made for him.

Back to F1: Next year will be very interesting with the new hybrid engines, it's like having a boost button in a game. This will bring back tactical racing to F1 and make races very entertaining. Let's hope the car performance differences are'nt that big.

What I found funny.

Sony is the new sponsor of F1 on ITV. Their titling at each advert break is "testing the limits of high definition" or something along those lines.

I lol'ed.

or maybe there is a surprise for us when Chav TV finally launch their HD channel.

During the qualifying tonight, if I see a single HDTV commercial, I'm gonna be royally pissed. I've been waiting 5 years for F1 to go HD. They were supposed to do it last year.

Fox did broadcast the American F1 race last year in HD. They are not doing one in america IIRC this year though. I really want to go to one :(

looks like Lewis aint going to win shit this, driving to the edge is style and is what make drivers great. Yo really shouldnt be out there if you are ot willing to.

His laps around Indy were amazing willing to push his car further then others to maximise his time.

I hate him, but respct him.

This one was posted on the other F1 thread and i think it also deserves to be posted here.

Hamilton's a racer, he'll not back down but he will play the percentages a little better this time around. If he took it easy in the last race he would've had the title but he 'had' to win in his mind. Harsh lesson but a lesson I guess he has learnt now.
