What I found funny.

Sony is the new sponsor of F1 on ITV. Their titling at each advert break is "testing the limits of high definition" or something along those lines.

I lol'ed.

:lol

Kimi's dq'd from qualifying due to his fuel regulator failing before the pit entrance. He did throw a time in, so he'll start 16th. Typical. :lol

Damn...Webber with a nasty crash now. Looks like a technical glitch of some kind. Red flag.

BTW, here are the times from the third practice session...the Beamers were ripping it up.

Yeah, Kubica is going to be ultra-motivated, and Alonso and Kimi will give us a great show from the back of the grid,

Seeing a Formula 1 car barely in control in the middle of an apex and actually in a controled slide on its way out of a turn gives me the tingles.

We have a fantastic season ahead people.

* five place grid penalty for gearbox change

Should be a fantastic race. The starts at the Aussie GP are usually crazy, and it could be more wild with TC out the window.

I'll be out late night, so I'm gonna record the race and watch either that or a TV replay Sunday morning.

Well at least Barrichello > Button. But it should be interesting race and i'm waiting to see how Kimi fights he's way back to top 5.

God damn Japanese TV, the race is being shown 5 hours after the event. During that time, I'm sure I'll accidently find out who won while browsing the web

:(

Must remember to not browse web

Yay, i Kimi is now starting 15th place. Timo Glock lost five places for impeding another competitor (Mark Webber).

Code:

2. 2 (16,5)

3. 2 (16,5)

4. 1 (8,5%)

5. 0

6. 1 (8,5%)

7. 0

8. 0

9. 0

10. 0

11. 1 (8,5%)

after 11th position there has been no one that could finish the race as winner. So it's looking pretty grim for Kimi. David Coulthard (2003) was the one who started from 11th place and still managed to win the whole race.

Tomorrow is going to rock. Motherfucking BRISTOL (who cares if it is only the busch, I love all things Bristol) and then F1 :lol

What exactly was wrong with Kimi and Mark? I think Mark had some brake issue, but I can't remember if Speed pinned down what went wrong for Kimi.

Kimi:
A few corners from the end of my in-lap, I had a problem with the electronic fuel pump which forced me to stop near the pit lane and so it was impossible for me to get back to the garage to try and fix the problem.

It's a shame that nobody was interested in Button. Now he's stuck at Honda for at least another season.

There is nothing wrong with Honda, they have Ross Brawn now. Brawn magic will kick in next season and Honda will be one of the top teams in F1. Although if Button leaves he won't have any where to go (except for the crappy teams.).

Button's career is over.

If Honda with Brawn can get there shit together for next season then they will contend. People forget that Button finished 3rd in 2004(although te Mclarens were nowhere that year)

Plus he is only 28.

My polish balls are tingling with happiness. :D

I hope it'll be a good race for Kubica. If Sauber remembers go give Kubica a working car , that is.

Kubica is one of those drivers who deserves to be world champion. I'll root for him today !

Christ... please tell me I didn't miss 12 hours of Sebring.

What are you smoking? It's a Saturday race. :lol In fact, it's just about to start. Speed Channel is showing it from now till 12pm, 2pm till 10:30pm (race ends at 10pm obviously). All times are EST.

WTF are people getting on Massa for again? He's been ahead of Kimi in the practices so far. What makes anyone think Kimi would have done any better? Besides, Kimi sabotaged Kubica's hot lap in Q2. Screw him.

Great pole by Hammy. That Mac is still fast, folks. The theoretical points race that includes Hammy and McLaren should be fun this season. I can see him grabbing the most poles, win and points and causing a lot of controversy for a second season in a row. :D That would be too sweet. Lose the WDC his first season due to a bonehead move in the last race, then lose it in his second season b/c of rules infractions. He is the heir apparent. ;)

Poor Alonso. He'll have Renault back at the sharp end of the grid by season's end. It is always fun watching him have to work for it IMO. It's why I started to like him in the first place. Piquet was sent there to die. That kid is so out of his league in comparison to Fonso. He is gonna get destroyed. It'll be nice to see Alonso dicing it up midpack and stealing some podiums...maybe?

BMW...the ultimate driving...HOLY KUBICA!!!! That crash in Montreal was truly blinked off. I thought he let Nick lead him around too much last season. Granted, Heidfeld had unlocked contract year cheat codes, but I still expected more from him. THIS is how you start the season. I love how he kept his foot in it with a wheel on the grass. That kid had balls, but also a pretty good race IQ. IIRC, he's been able to move through the field in the past. I hope for a BMW win or two or more this season. If any manufacturer deserves it, it's them. A well-run team that started off with a rocket of an engine, and gradually built a Sauber chassis that could tame it. Hallelujah! I love me some BMW.

This season will be great. I hate the new qualies change. I think Q2 should be it. Low fuel and a bunch of laps. Oh well, I can dream of the good old days. It won't be more than a handful of races before we see all the teams adopting the same fuel strategies again, and the order of the starting grid will start to solidify. Moseley needs to stop with these bullshit changes, and get back to the fundamentals. PEACE.

Honda's new Livery looks even uglier than last years. Ugh.

:lol @ Massa. His last year in a Ferrari before Alonso arrives next year. I think he's going to overdrive himself out of a good seat.

Pimpwerx, wake me up when Massa wins a race when he didn't start from pole. Anytime he's fighting for position against someone smarter than him (Hamilton, Raikkonen, Alonso, etc...), he'll gravel it or do something stupid. Balancing kamakazi dives and brains is something the best of F1 drivers have. And The tomato-head doesn't have much of it. :lol

Do not rule out Alonso finishing in the top four this season, the Renault is much better during race conditions.

Renault will improve. Their goal should be to make the car easier to drive and maintain its balance and reliability, rather than go power. Alonso won 2 championships without having the most power. The 2003 car had one of the weakest engines, but the chassis work and balance was so good that Alonso was able to overcome the power deficit and be in the points consistently.

Also, let's see how many cars crash or spin out on the first turn without traction control.

I really doubt it, there is too much teams better than Renault and they keep improving as well. It will be very difficult to finish in top 4.

I agree. BMW, Toyota and Red Bull are all ahead of Renault. And all three have far more money than Renault to invest in improving the car.

Yup, did not see that one coming. Kubica in second, here's hoping he keeps his cool and gets that podium. Big nod to Vettel for 9th in the STR. He's getting a lot better and hopefully come out with some points this weekend.

Ah, I see. He has pace and can certainly hold onto a lead if he has one, but you're right, he's still a bit of a blockhead in traffic. I just thought it was odd that he was getting shit despite showing better pace than Kimi this weekend. PEACE.

what are you talking about? I thought Mclaren were cleared for 08? Is there still some shit hanging over their heads regarding points?

Yeah the money is doing Toyota well, biggest budget team in F1 and where are they?

Money is good and Renault have tons of it AND people who know what they are doing.

Alonso will finish in the top 4 and I can see him getting around 90+ points this year. I have him fighting Massa for 3rd but if Massa can turn his luck around he could be world champion and should have been last year.

Huh...wtf am I talking about? Damn, how did I miss that they were cleared? Last I checked, there was further investigations going on with Stepneygate. I guess I was wrong, b/c McLaren-Mercedes is still listed on the F1's WCC table.

I guess that means Lewis Hamilton for 2008 WDC then. :D PEACE.

I bet Kimi goes by Alonso tomorrow like he's standing still. The Renault is not going to be competitve. Alonso is going to be scraping for points all year long.

Strangely enough, being a McLaren fan, I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what Kimi can do. The race is going to be amazing if he's seeing red so to speak.

I find this hard to believe, without traction control drivers are going to have be on top form and as far as most complete drivers go, Alonso may be #1. He also has the determination this year that was lacking last year.

Webber's BREMBO brake disk disintergrated. He's not fabulously happy.

"You can say, we are lucky we don't build aeroplanes," Webber said.:lol :lol

"It was nobody's fault that we went off. There was a structural failure and unfortunately I was a passenger in an accident which I can't do anything about."

Awesome seeing all the drivers get ready and pose for the cameras and media - seeing them shake hands with one another, pat each other on the back and basically banter among one another as if they're a huge circle of friends :lol

Sure there are some huge rivalries in F1 but ultimately they seem to respect one another through various means.

Alonso will be in the top 5 after the 1st corner.
Kubica 1st, Lewis will go into the grass, rejoin the track carelessly and take out Webber.

I think you are waiting too much from Alanso and Renault. Alanso will be in 6th place at max today.

Lewis will spin once or twice and is fifth (i really hope). Mass will also blew it and in the end he will be 5th.

5 more minutes :b.

Kovalainen has more fuel than Hamilton. Hamilton will fill up around lap 19 and Heikki @ 21 to 22. Kubica has light car so not so much fuel (apparently).

Why do you have to prophesize about Webber? :lol Let the man win a race for a change.

I hope Williams does well, despite the disappointing quali for Nakajima.
