Not surprising. Lets be honest here, cardinal fans are harder to come across then a lions fan. That may have changed now though.

I'll probably throw a party if they get rid of Willie Colon, as he probably cost the team over 500 yards in false start penalties.

Colon, yeah, I certainly wouldn't cry if he's not around. Honestly, Kemo drives me crazy too. He had a pretty crappy SB. Matt Spaeth needs to go too. He can't block for shit and seeing as that's what they keep using him for, there's no point to him being around. But everybody else I don't have a problem with being back.

Would love Sandwich to be back, but he won't. Way too many teams need a QB in this league and he can bring a lot to the table for somebody. Batch is a great back up, but he's been heavily injury prone. Hopefully Dixon can learn a bunch from him and Ben and can challenge for the number two spot.

They do need to draft both O line and D line, and yes, a kick returner needs to be picked up somewhere. After Cowher crapped the bed in his lame duck season after SBXL, it will be very interesting to see how Tomlin handles the season after such early success.

Arians is great at scripting his first few plays, but he's terrible at adjustments. When he lets Ben go 2 minute drill, magic happens. They need to find a medium between the two. I wouldn't cry if he was gone, but yeah, he's not going anywhere after this year. Plus, Ben really likes him. So we have to get used to him for awhile.

Ummm not going to happen.

Yeah its just a rumor but we all know Boldin wants to be paid like Fitz and he probably will not see that money from the Cardinals. I rather the Cardinals keep him than have the Giants make a move on him.

At this point Im convinced that Reid would only like to win a Superbowl if he can prove his super pass happy offense with mediocre WRs works. I mean otherwise is it even worth it?

Seems the talent is spread too even anymore for crushing SB blowouts. Outside of the '00 Giants/Ravens and '02 Bucs/Raiders, all the games this decade have been close.

fine divisional round

and that 98 wildcard game is still bullshit

oh i was talking about the 98 super bowl with the broncos

whoever won between cowboys-niners would whoop up on the AFC

I would be fine with this outcome, only because I would like to see the epic meltdown from FMT when the packs light em up.

At this point I think Reid would be happy to just win a championship game lol.

You guys need a QB?
Rosencopter for Peppers straight up.

Mario + peppers would be nice.

Yeah, but Peppers is worth more then Roflcopter.

Cassel would be a better idea since the Pats could have cap issues with two ridiculous-priced QBs.

Cowboys should draft Brett Favre and have him as a back up. That'd go over pretty well and there would be no drama whatsoever, win-win! :lol :lol

Boldin is going to the Redskins. Portis, Moss, Cooley and Campbell will restructure their contracts and the Skins FO will somehow get under the cap again. And, if the next year goes by without a CBA extension, look out! :lol

fixed for accuracy
Edit: whats with the Boldin talk? Didn't he just sign a big contract with the cards not too long ago? In any event I don't want his ass anywhere near the NFC East.

holy crap I just realized the falcons logo is an F :lol

Yeah I was never very enamored with this offense. It is never a good sign when your best option at offense is having your qb just running around behind the line of scrimmage making shit up on the fly.

To be fair to Arians though, I don't think any coordinator could have come with any kind of successful gameplay with our offensive line. No drawn up play has a chance of working unless the big guys do their jobs.

I am excited to see if the Steelers can patch together a decent line next year. Colon blow needs to go. I thought the left side of our line was the decent and I wouldn't mind seeing what they could do given one more year. What we need more than anything is a center. We got pushed around in the middle all freakin year. You can't run any kind of offense without at least holding your own in the middle. That is why it seems half of our runs in the red zone resulted in a loss of 5 yards. Don't know where they are going to get a decent center but that is priority number one.

We are pretty set at every other position. We have great depth at defense and all we need to do for the other positions is start grooming some young guys to step in in a few years.

speaking of offense, it pissed me off so fucking much that'd we stoop to wildcat....fuck that formation and fuck the Dololphins for making it popular

Hey, anything can work if you block em up front. Sometimes the game really is that simple. Joe Gibbs would draw up turds on napkins and his plays worked in the 80s because he had one of the best offensive lines in history.

Thank God we had 7. I think he is the only qb that could have made the plays he had to make this year behind that line. And in the line's defense, they were almost average by the end of the year. Definitely not great, but not as bad as they were in the beginning of the year (at which time they were playing as bad as any line in the history of the game).

The whole season changed at halftime of the Jags game when 7 bitchslapped the o-line and they got better every week since then.

Oh can someone make an avatar of the game winning pass to Holmes?

Try to make it kosher for the mods. Someone special is awaiting his new avatar.

I like having him as 2nd TE that is a competent receiver

I'm all for that too. Problem is that's not how they use him. As it stands, he's a liability out there.

The worst part is that they used that play in every preseason game and the results were horrible every single time. So, smartly, they dumped it for the regular season. And then they dust it off for the biggest game of their lives? Horrible. I'd rather they run something with Dixon. But, seeing as they did none of those plays in the regular season, then don't run them in the Bowl. When Cowher pulled that stuff, they had been running trick plays for years under 4 different coordinators throughout entire seasons. Don't trot that crap out when you haven't been practiced at it.

Florio yesterday or the day before said the numbers were down by about a million viewers from last year.

Not that it matters but it looks like this years SB was indeed the most watched in SB history.

unexciting news said:
Nielsen said 98.7 million people, on average, were watching Pittsburgh's exciting 27-23 victory Sunday night. That beats the 97.5 million who watched the 2008 game, which held the record for most popular Super Bowl.

more unexciting news said:
On Monday, Nielsen had reported that this year's game had 95.4 million viewers -- impressive, but not a record-setter.

Nielsen explained the discrepancy of more than 3 million viewers by saying a more complete check of their records revealed additional viewership on some digital tier networks. The company hadn't been aware that they were showing the game.

Can't wait to see what the Seahawks do with the draft. Do we go for a QB this year, or are we forced to go for one next, now that Hassleback is all but washed up.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. But the rating system is so antiquated, I often wonder what the real ratings are. I think it has lots to do with the Steeler Nation, Warner/Cards feel good story, and the Boss. I'm sure there was a massive spike for that 4th quarter.
it also doesn't take into account all the steelers fans who went to their local rent-a-center and rented 6 TVs for the game, plugged them all into the same surge protector, lathered themselves naked in vaseline and laid there for 5 hours squealing to Big Ben closeups.

why was there nothing in the OP about the Lions emminent return/voyage into greatness?

But it probably does take into account all of Detroit who decided for one night to cease all criminal binges just to see what real football looks like for a few hours.

:p

I'm optimistic, with Cassel the Patriots still won 11 games.

I'm praying that Brady comes back without a problem, but even if he has some early jitters, he's motherfucking Tom Brady. We just need to get a proper secondary and hope that injuries don't kill us again.
