Unless we get a clear confirmation from he devs themselves that they used PBR in their workflow for Arkham Knight, anyone need to refrain supposing that it uses it because it just looks good. MGSV used PBR and it was confirmed by the devs and NVidia. We need official words like that !
I guess. But my only point was that the choice of engine has nothing to do with whether or not they used PBR. Remember Me used it and it's a UE3 game as well.

Origins is the best one, fanboys just mad it wasn't Rocksteady. The only thing that brought it down was the polish (bugs).

If Arkham Knight is just Arkham City 2.5, then Origins will remain the best one.

If you're talking about cutscenes and story direction, then sure.

Anyone who considers City a better overall game than Origins is likely just acknowledging reality though. There was more that brought down Origins than bugs.

Meh. Side quests were handled better (in AC it was investigate a crime scene, then complete more story mode to unlock the next part). AO felt more natural, and you could complete a full side mission the second it was available to you. The only issues I had with Origins were the bugs (originally played on 360 and I'm replaying on pc; holy shit it is bad) and the fact that the map size grew way too big with not enough to do. The Crimes in Progress helped, but they got old fast.

I really wish AO's multiplayer was fleshed out more. Had a blast playing that.

Played Origins on PC and never encountered any bugs. Felt just as polished if not more than the other Arkham games.

A) Origins was good, but it was NOT as good as the Rocksteady Arkham games. It didn't have the originality, creativity or polish. It just road the coat tails of Rocksteady's games, recycling what the foundations they laid.

B) Arkham Knight already looks to build quite a bit on AC's gameplay. The Batmobile alone is a game changer.

Depends on when you would've played it. There were progress halting scripting bugs on launch that I don't recall from the other two games.

Is the irony here that the one argument you're using to justify the other side is fanboyism?

Only thing good about origins was the Deathstroke fight. Easily the best in the entire series. I doubt they ever top it. I didnt care for the story at all. Even though Joker is my favorite villain. They tried so hard to humanize that crazy bastard it didnt work out. He's just flat out crazy like he's always been.

Humanize? Did we play the same game? The entire Joker section was about the nature of madness and the genesis of his obsession with Batman. Plus a fun callback to Killing Joke. I did not see it as humanizing him at all.

I disagree with all this, especially the design of characters in Origins. The past RS games had a cool comic book look to it that was combined with elements of horror. It made for a very original and eerie design. Origins just felt very generic and safe with regards to visual design.

I think the design of all characters is better compared to Asylum/City.

One thing I'll give Origins: the design of Batman is so much better.

I agree with all this:

Origin's story isn't better than City's. The presentation of the story is much better, though.

I can tell you I've played Origins maybe twice, I tried replaying it recently and just stopped after a whole. On the other hand, I'm on my probably 7th or so replay of Akkham City. The game is just amazing.

I found the combat to be better in Origins than City.

It just felt more challenging and encouraged more environmental awareness from the player as you had to constantly move around rather than just standing still and waiting for the counter prompt.

never thought of damien. thats possible
I have been saying he is the Arkham Knight for a while now.

-relationship to Bruce, thus the Arkham Knight as a riff on Batman and it being so personal.
-relationship to Ra's and Talia, both "deaths" can be blamed on Batman.
-Ra's was responsible for the whole Arkham happenings.
