Alabama (1-0): 48
Utah State (0-1): 17

Ole Miss was beaten by Memphis tonight, so I guess we don't have any reason for losing next week either. The game wasn't televised outside of PPV, so I'll have to catch the replay on CSS or FSS this week. I hear that the offense was looking pretty good in the second half, and the defensive speed is up from last year. We had a shitload of redshirt and true freshmen on the field tonight, so I'm happy with the outcome.

When did Trev Alberts become such a little bitch? I've never heard him piss and moan like this before, or maybe I just wasn't paying attention. Either way, in a little over two days I'm already tired of seeing his little bitch ass cry about Instant Replay.

Carry on :D

Jesus fucking christ, LSU's win looked as shitty as most of Ohio State's wins last year.

*Matlock* :p

Go ahead rip LSU, they deserve it, but just so you know we all knew (LSU fans) that Randall was a joke and the QB position was going to get ugly, but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn Gena........

Hey, if you win, you win. That's all that matters.

...and if you don't win against your rivals, the entire season sucks.

word, go bears. getting me season tickets ASAP. this is gonna be the best season in YEARS

cyan, north or south endzone, which is best?

If we are going to play the what if game Odoul:

What if our kicker made his first kick, which should have been automatic?

What if our cornerback actually tackled your reciever on the play where he scored a touchdown?

What if our offense had less conservative play calling on first down?

What if our offense actually capitalized more on our +20 minutes of possession? (The most telling reason for why Rutgers IS a better team than Michigan State.)

Sour... grapes.

That game easily could have been a rout in Rutgers' favor.

Holy shit I miss Eli. The new Ole Miss QB was 13-31 and looked bad doing it. And we lost to freaking Memphis again. Limedust, Bama's defensive coordinator is going to slobber like Cujo looking at the game film of our QB.

My Pokes looked pretty good yesterday--especially on the O-line! We rushed for over 400 yds and forced 4 turnovers by UCLA with our improved defense. We now have a shot at a 7-0 start (with Missouri being a tough game) until we play OU (at home, thank god). Top 25, here we come!

Hmm, not sure. I've always had student tickets, which put you on the east side of the stadium at the 50-yard line. That's great positioning (except for that whole sun-in-your-eyes thing). This year I'm getting Young Alum tickets, which I believe put you right next to the student section.

I'd say go for south endzone-- it's closer to the main entrances, so it'll be easier to get in and out. Not sure which would be better for the actual game.
I have a friend that goes to berkeley. Could I have him buy me a student season pass and then use it? or do they have ways of preventing me from doing that? I dont think he ever goes

I agree completely. Only because we barely squeeked one out against Wake Forest. I dunno how loud it sounded on TV, but I couldn't hear a goddamn thing in the stadium during overtime. I suspect that's why we won because Wake Forest had a wide open man on that 4th down play in overtime and was overthrown badly due to the quarterback being rattled in my opinion.

Hey buddy, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but UCLA isn't very good these days. They're vying with Stanfurd for the bottom of the Pac-10. They lost to Fresno State in their sympathy bowl game last year. Their coach is terrible. Still, good luck with going 7-0!

Oh yeah, I know. But I can take some definite positives from the game, especially as Donovan Woods (redshirt freshman QB) gets more experience and confidence. Our biggest problem yesterday was our defensive line and overall defensive planning. As soon as we figured UCLA out, our defense played great--our personnel are strong (especially in the secondary), we just need to adapt more quickly.

Also, we've lost the season opener each of the past three years, so I'm just happy to get over that hump :D

Obviously Louisville wasn't afraid of a couple of homosexuals. :)
I can't decipher this comment. I can only assume for now that you're drunk after watching that game, which is understandable. ;)

Boyd would be much better if he had a couple of seconds to sit in the pocket.

Football players charged with indecent exposure

Two reserve UK football players charged with indecent exposure scrimmaged with the team Saturday and will continue to play, said head coach Rich Brooks.
According to a police report, the three were "exposing themselves" on June 11 on the front porch of a house on the 400 block of Oldham Avenue.
Accounts of the incident did not become public until media reports revealed them Friday.
Klope and Shumate then made "sexual comments" to a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy who were riding their bikes, the report said.
The three came out of the bushes and off the porch.
The two told the kids, "We are big fags ... come up here so we can have a big orgy," the report said.

That should explain the comment. I then went on to say that perhaps they were doing it to scare Louisville in to losing, so I followed up by saying they obviously weren't scared. Make sense now?

Aside from OT of the LSU game, I've not seen a game even remotely interesting this weekend. None have been close.

Well, that's not entirely true. It is quite interesting that Tennessee is playing QB by committee here.

Man, that LSU game was almost an exact replica of the Clemson/WF game earlier in the day. Tigers down by 8 at home in death valley and coming back to take it into OT and win. I swear I felt like I was watching the same game again.

Really? I haven't seen it at all. I've seen quite a few where new QBs come in because the old one was raping the opponents, and every now and then when a QB is doing badly, but it seems like every other play there's a different guy under center in this game.

Washington did it, and they brought in an OPTION quarterback. God i hate option QBs. No wonder they got their asses kicked.

Guileless: In the dozen-plus games I've seen with Joe Kines as our DC, I could probably count the times we've blitzed on my fingers. His style is just to run the 4-3 and stress fundamentals (speed and hard hitting). Nothing all that complex about it. My biggest concern on defense is our D-line.

In breaking in a new QB, and with the success of the OM running game last season, I'm kind of suprised to see the number of passing attempts for the game. I would have thought Cutcliffe would have cranked up the ground game a little bit more.

Look forward to the game next weekend, and I suppose we will both know a bit more about our teams after next weekend. Based only off this first week, it looks like MSU might be a tough game for the both of us.

Joe Lee actually didn't blitz that much last night. There wasn't much of a pass rush, but Spurlock just couldn't move the chains.

I'm going to the game in T-town Saturday night but I'm really not looking forward to it anymore. I was also surprised that we threw so much; I was expecting a power running game with some play action every once in awhile. Instead we got the shotgun almost every play and Spurlock looked like he was a frat boy playing QB in a pledge flag football game. Man I knew it would hurt to lose Eli but damn.

Bama Blized a couple times, even saw a dual CB blitz.

Overall, looked pretty good, even some nice plays by our Freshman WR's

Ton's of people at the game, even for Utah State. Enjoyable first time at Bryant Denny :D

Glad to hear we at least have some blitz packages installed this season. I don't think blitzing every other play is necessary (a la LSU), but there were occasions last season when I think it would have benefitted us greatly.

Since I'm up here in SC I didn't get to attend the game, and I didn't get the PPV since it was blacked out, so I'll be sure to record the replay this week (both Fox Sports South and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast are showing the game).

Sounds like we rotated a ton of guys, which was my hope for this game (aside from winning). I do wish we could have gotten Guillon or Pennington a few snaps at QB, but I'm just being picky on that.

Hmm, they said Guillion got in. Either got in right at the end as we were making our way out of the stadium, or something.

Good picture on Britt and Brooks. You could probably fit a whole nother person to Brooks to get Britt's size :/

Orton had 4 TDs?

The Big Ten is 9-2. Northwestern couldn't pull it off, but I can't believe Michigan State. Rutgers better be really improving, or MSU is going to be kicking themselves about this game if they don't make a bowl.

What's the deal going to be with

It's sad that LSU dropped without OSU getting significantly more votes. Underdogs are never respected by pollsters when they win.

What the hell kind of voodoo hex does LSU have on kickers? Our kicker, who won the Lou Groza award as the best kicker in the country, missed 2 easy ones last year and we lost by 3. Georgia's kicker who's also good missed 2 or 3 against them last year too. Perhaps the voodoo ceremony involves the use of corn dogs, thus imparting the corn dog smell that follows them around.

so i tune in to the Tenn/UNLV game and...WTF? Did Phillip Fullmer clone Mike Vick??!

i was there with 108,000 other people

UT is trying out 2 freshman quarterbacks the vick clone and a pocket passer, but UNLV sucks so the real test wont be until florida

however UT's defensive line needs to get better

fulmer, i believe, calls plays from a tecmo bowl sheet because i keep on seeing the same plays

any idea if UT will keep the "QB by committee" or will they eventually pick one...don't think it's a good idea at all...we(VT) tried it last year and it was a mess...yanking a QB when he's getting hot, or just because he made a mistake changed the momentum and just fucked up our already weak offense...

Looks like Gameday decided that Notre Dame vs. Michigan wouldn't be as exciting as Georgia vs. South Carolina... so they'll be broadcasting from Columbia, SC this week! YES!

The best thing about the college season this year (besides the Gators winning the national championship and Chris Leak's rise to prominence) is the complete and utter failure of Notre Dame and their once band-wagonning fanboy jerk fans. :D Suck it down losers, you guys might not win a single game this year. Maybe Navy will roll over for your guys, but the Week1 loss to BYU makes me comfortable knowing that a few high school teams could take out the Irish this year. :lol This is justice for years of being overrated with a weak schedule. Well, I think it's about time for Irish fans to hit the eject button and bail out of this sinking ship.

Now, if the Gators turn around and lose to E. Michigan this weekend, I know it was karma biting me in the ass. :lol PEACE.

HalfPastNoon: :lol Try saying that here in Miami. My students almost lynched me for supporting the Noles this weekend, but I gotta. The Canes don't face us this year, so we've got to hope FSU wins for the SoS boost. I know it won't help in the computers anymore, but the coaches and reporters still look at who you beat and if FSU is undefeated, or at least knocked off Miami when we beat them later this year, then that'll help us at least a bit. I should have gotten tix to the game, but I'm stupid and cheap. But it promises to be a good one. I don't normally cheer for the Noles, but I'm getting tired of the Canes now, and I'd like to see FSU kick their ass again to give the fanboys a reality check. :D So just until tomorrow's game is over, GO NOLES!!! :D PEACE.
