Can't wait to play it!

$%*&$*^$...... hate you

Screw Street dates.

Sears had this next to their other games. I held the copy in my hand i went to the register. And the PC said it couldnt be sold

Whats the point of shipping over a week from launch and just hoarding it :( I really wanted to play this now.

Envious Flyguy is envious.

My local gamestore is supposedly getting it tonight, along with LBP. If anyone lives in south OC, or is willing to make the trek, PM me and I'll tell you where to get it. Not sure what kind of trouble he could get in for breaking street date.

Strangely, no co-op even after the patch. Hmm.

Kind of a stupid question but do we get to name our dog and pick out what kind of dog it is?

Same thing for kids do we to name them?
The impression I received from one of the videos (trying to find the one atm) is that there will be dogs around in the city and you can make one of them yours. But...in the video where Peter first introduced the dog, he says that the dog is unique in that nobody's dog will look like yours and that it will change depending on how you act in the game (from sheep dog to doberman in looks). So how there will be dogs in the city and you chose one seems to be wrong. Hopefully one of our comrades will be able to fully answer that question because I was curious about the same thing, especially naming the dog. It would be strange if you couldn't, especially since it seems like Peter likes to make the gaming experience to be a personal and realistic one as well.

Anyone get anything in their email about a code to a free Fable 2 pub game?

I don't know where you got that, but everything I've seen says you meet the dog in one of the childhood missions. You can't choose what it looks like initially, but it will morph based on your actions. And yes, you can name every NPC in the game including your dog.

Well I figured it was probably wrong by simple deduction of the "your dog is unique" comment by Peter. I'm not sure where I got it from, probably because frankly I've seen so many videos on the game some of it ran together. Maybe from the video about your dog waiting outside in the city or something, who knows. Either way, thanks for the clarification on the naming aspect of things.

Impressions:

I've been playing about three hours, so I'm not that far into the game at all... the world already seems massive, though, and I can see myself sinking a lot of time into exploring and learning my way around. Fighting seems fun, but I only have one spell, so I'm not too sure on how complex it'll get. It feels good, though. Also, there's no magic meter? It seems like I can just use spells over and over. I do like how with the "force push" spell, you can use it normally or direct it at someone.

I've seen folks asking about loading zones and the way that they work... basically, you're in an area, and there are "exits" out of the zone. When you go through those exits, you'll be loaded into the next zone. You'll get a typical "loading..." screen with a pro-tip like "Heroes can survive massive falls that would break normal folks' bones!" Loading times in between zones are nothing to worry about; they're reasonably quick.

Within the zones themselves, there are paths that are obvious, and then you can walk off the paths, and explore the surrounding areas. It definitely doesn't feel like Oblivion, though; you have an area that you can walk around in, but there are rock walls and debris and stuff that block you from moving outside of the play area. It is cool, though, to walk off of the path and start exploring, and then find yourself back at an earlier point on the path without even realizing where you've gone. The "free roam areas" are not small at all.

I played split-screen co-op with a friend and it was fun. He used the "teleport" button a lot, which pulled him back to me when we got too far apart (although, at a point, it won't let either of you walk any further). A few weird things did happen, like me jumping off of a tall hill and into a lake, and the camera flying back to him and me not being able to see myself. But it is split screen, and it felt fine for what it was trying to do.

The game is funny. Each item that you get has a description that goes along with it, and most of them are pretty amusing.

I haven't picked up too much loot, yet. I did get a new melee weapon, though, which I equipped - when you're looking at your weapons, the best one will have a little note next to it that says "BEST" to let you know to equip that one.

The story so far seems good. You've got to let yourself get into it... there are already things that have happened that have made me mad, and things that I've done that I've felt good about. I have a feeling that a lot more is on the way.

Money is not coming easy. I wish I'd played that Chicker Kicker game, since it awarded you 1000 gold (it is pretty cool how they give you the stuff you won). I've been playing for three hours and I only have 300. I haven't ran into any shops, yet, though.

My biggest complaint is that the game definitely doesn't look very polished; there are graphical glitches, like the dog clipping through the ground while you're looking at him (and he's just sitting there stationary). Another time, a character on a porch kicked my dog (I named him Charizard lol), and he (the dog) teleported underneath the porch. I think I might be a little overly-critical, though... nothing I've seen has in any way hindered or degraded my experience.

No, you get a dog from the outset - it's the same dog for everyone, but he'll change according to your character and how you treat him.

And you'll love him, too. I know this because I found myself muttering 'good boy' whenever he discovered a decent treasure. I feel no shame in admitting this.

Awesome! Sounds like Peter succeeded in his quest to have you get emotionally attached to the dog.

:lol No reason to be ashamed. I know I'll find myself doing the same thing once I get my hands on the game. Thanks for the info and the clarification of things. I can't wait to play!

Oh and what exactly will I be able to do with my 200k gold I'll be importing from the pub games XBLA game? Anything to buy right at the start?

I'm going to name my dog Snape and my son Dumbledore and then I'm going to train the dog to attack and....well....you know...

I'm just past
the Arena
in Fable 1. Have I far to go?

Does anyone with the game know what happens if you transfer debt from the pub games over to your hero? Or what the penalty for using the glitch is?

Not gonna try that til I hear from some other folks... haha.

Also, I just got into
Bowerstone,
and I am immediately impressed by the amount of people and shops (have seen at least six different ones). The city is definitely impressive.

Also, I didn't mention the housing market earlier? Every piece of property has a deed on it where it lists:

Base value
Decoration
Town Economy
Not Vacant
Owners Killed
Hero Opinion

All of those things are added up and that gives you the final selling price. And apparently the town economy will fluctuate based on what sort of trading you do within the town (ripping people off, giving them good deals).

Is it possible to rent the houses out? Like become a slum lord or whatever? I've been waiting for the game where I can make young lassies pay for the rent with their bodies. My dream cum true?

I really like the orbs of the other players around you in the game. It turns the single player experience slightly massive in a way which is nice to combat boredom. Once I realized they could hear me in market while doing my blacksmith job..."Whattda Buyin?"

Wait, what? What are you talking about?

I turned my "Online Orbs" in options to everyone. So I see people's avatars walking about where they would be. You can talk to them as well in proximity it seems.

I knew about the first part... but as to the second part: No freakin' way.

You till in the town? Meet me at the center.
I'm at the center now. I see two orbs working at the blacksmith, but no others.

Me and Sanjuro just met at the town center and talked. He's not even on my friends list.... :lol This is NUTS.

There are orbs all over the place doing random things. And by "orbs," I mean the person's gamerpic. It is awesome.

I cant imagine playing with ORBS set to everyone once the game releases....you wouldn even be able to move it would be so dense.

They are just orbs. They don't interfere with much of anything.
