Official Fable II Thread

A ghost haunts that area and is the subject of a quest where you track down his still alive former lover

Oh :lol I kept thinking something would pop up at midnight or when the moon was lined up with the statue.

Also who the hell keeps rotten pies in their rooms? I snuck into the blacksmith's second floor bedroom in Bowersmith just to try my hand a stealing....I get rewarded with a rancid pie. At least I didnt get caught.

ok... ive been playing for 4 hours and where the fuck is Oakdale?!

Arrgh, breadcrumb trail cool in all but not if you dont know where you're going!!

Oakfield? Or some play im not aware of? Anyway just go in your quest menu and press A twice on what you want your current target to be. If you still cant find it, I can try to hop online real fast and lead you to it.

Sucky thing is
choosing Love, it revives my family. But it refers to my first family (Alex) as my family. But ignores the better one I have stashed away in the Homestead with my two children.

I'm gonna have to play through again and only have one family this time.

Also, is
Rose alive? Can I see her?

Oakfield, yea. And I tried, can't yet because it says I haven't discovered this region yet. Argh.
Edit: thanks for the guide offer, but I've had enough for the night.
Would be interested in some co-op later this weekend though

Pause and look at the maps and see which one has a yellow X on it.

BTW, Oakfield is north of RookRidge which is north of Bowerstone Old Town.

I'm now wondering about this too. I believe there was an illuminated pathway that told me where to go to find her, but I got distracted by something else and now that path seems to be gone. Or maybe I'm mistaken. Anyone know where we're supposed to go?

It just led back to your family.

I'm thinking the "place with all the trees" was just that place you can't go that Garth went with Reaver. :(

Interview about co-op and orbs:

http://community.lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2008/10/24/3157735.aspx

While you will not be able to see another player’s character when they are invited into your world as your henchman, joining other players’ worlds in co-op mode is more significant, because it will allow you to not only see their character, but also experience their Albion life as a whole – how NPCs react to their character, the different towns/villages in their world, their character’s family, house, job, etc.

I guess from this small excerpt...they dont plan on caving in to reviewers and alot of fans requests to patch in hero-like appearance for henchmen. Oh well...guess i'll have to accept it for what it is.

Still keeping hope alive :lol

Ah fuck. :( Honestly, I didn't give a shit about my family. My bitch of a wife was about to divorce me anyway, and I cared so little for my daughter that I named her Cum Dumpster.

Holy crap...put the Safety off for 2 seconds, hit Y by accident..next thing you know a guy has a crossbolt in his chest -> villagers get angry -> villagers attack me -> entire village population wiped out.

and i wanted to be a good guy in this game.. :(
they forced me to, damn it.

But your dog! You have to save your dog at least!

Oh come on. It's much more fun to be a complete jerk in a virtual world. :)

Indeed! That's the main reason I made that particular choice.
I can't go on without my trusted mutt, Crappy.

So, when do I start getting weapons better than the master class?

Gotta search for em and do quests im thinking. I know you'll probably get something worth while after busting up all those smug gargoyles.

Linkzg said:

That is the highest class of weapons. They can have up to two augment slots. The only thing better are Legendary weapons, which there is one of for each type of weapon.

Interesting. Both of my families
were brought back/are alive
. I had my main wife in the Homestead, with my second wife being my
corpse bride.

Some random thoughts: I finished the game but still have plenty to do; I never got an STD and pretty much had unprotected sex except for two occasions early on; I have 12 families; I never encountered a game ending bug; and this game rocks but Lionhead needs to take care of all the glitches.

What's the deal with the
Winter Lodge
behind the bloodstone demon door? I got the treasure that was inside, but why did everything flip out when I stepped in?

No, mine are
both alive.
I'm just saying the game is treating only my first family as my only family.

Which really sucks.

I also think I found a bug with the endgame
Rescue quest.

I got this urgent message that my wife needs me. So I go and see her. She tells me my daughter went off to the cave. So I go to the cave and fight my way through. At one point I see her in the distance. Then she disappears. Not to reappear. The trail changes from leading me to her, to leading me out of the cave and back home. I get home and my wife is fine. But she no longer has a ring over her head. But she's still my wife. And she's pretending like it didn't happen. BUT the townspeople are still acting like it happened. "Sorry about your daughter" and the like.

But the quest is still active and open.

And now I think my money stopped coming in. Ugh.. I'm going to bed. I'll figure it out later. Sucks because I bought pretty much 90% of the world so far.

This game really is one the stand out gmes this gen. Im blown away at how different this is to Fable. And the increible amounts of innovation. I mean a Bard is following me around town giving me a tour! They really have thought this through, the whole game is full of small touches like this.

Best game this gen for me, up there with MGS4 and Mass Effect.

Wait, what?

Does this mean that when a friend is a henchman in your world, you can't see him??

Can anyone tell me where Bloodstone is/what town it's connected to? I've played for hours and can't believe I haven't found it yet. Apparently you can get to it from Westcliff by boat, but you can only do that after finding Bloodstone first.

you cant see their character's actual model.. they choose from a list of models to use. stats and stuff are same tho

You go there as part of the main quest's story.

Don't be in such a hurry to uncover the map :)

I do not think it is possible to get to Bloodstone before a certain story point.

In other news, I have looked everywhere (every store) for the black color dye, and have come up empty, anyone here have it that can trade it to me? :p

Btw, how do you activate the gargoyles?

So I married some chick (gave her a ring) and decided not to associate her with one of my homes as I was going to use her to get
the Demon Door associated with kissing
.

Anyway, she just sat in my now-acquired house complaining about not having a place to live, and when I left her there she disappeared forever.

I miss my wifey :(

CE landed on my doorstep yesterday, and spend the entire day playing it.

Impressions:

-Beautiful and quirky style. One cannot help but love the game from the start.
-Excellent voice acting and writing.
-Size of the letters in the hud make me curse my sd telly.
-The most enjoyable single player experience I had so far this year on the 360.

As everybody does, I went in with the determination to make a certain kind of hero. I tried to go for the dashing Han Solo womanizer type of hero.

HOWEVER: At the end of the day, I ended up with a adulterating fat-ass that lives in a trailerpark, eats pies, and has a severe drinking problem. I LOVE IT! :D

After reading the Eurogamer review, I've been dying to get it, but I can't afford it at the moment. I got to play a few hours this morning of my mates copy, and I'm mega impressed. Best western RPG I've ever played, so far, it could of course become really repetitive or something, but a few hours in it's really good.

The orbs needed to level up your abilities starts to get insanely high...atleast I can now aim to different body parts, which is awesome. Slowing down time, disarming all the guards, then decapitating/shooting them in the groin while they're trying to punch me makes town massacres much easier. :lol

I was off doing a quest then I got a pop-up saying bandits killed my wife and a child protection agency took my kid! I was trying to be a good guy but thats going to start my descent to evil.

I started this yesterday, it's been ok so far. I've onjly played an hour mind, and I've just reached Bowerstone. Now, how do I have sex with people?

Holy shit. I just beat it and it was awesome.

This thread need more pictures of peoples heroes, here's a crappy cell phone pic of mine

Somewhat. It's comments on the graphics I thought were way off. Sure, night time can sometimes look drab, but really there are some parts of the game that stunned me. Oakfield (and many other areas) during summer are breathtaking.

So the game DOES have seasons? Nice. All four? Are they tied to your progression in the main quest or do they just pass when enough time has gone by?

Who enjoys the gambling BTW? I like the games they have. Anyone play those games online?

What?? This game has seasons?? I'm only an hour in and it's summer. However, I loved the wintery feel of the opening. That was just awesome.

That's what the guy implied. I'm hoping. I have fond memories still of that one level in Banjo-Kazooie all those years back. Love the Fable 2 title screen as well.

Seems the answer is...yes.

http://community.lionhead.com/forums/thread/3076900.aspx

Of course you can't rely on people in this forum to answer your questions in a timely manner. No doubt in the half hour since I asked that question a heap of people saw it knowing the answer but chose not to bother replying. Fuck them, you want something done you have to do it for yourself.

does anyone know if you get your gold and items from a PAL Fable 2 Pub Games to copy over to a NTSC retail Fable 2 game? I can get Fable 2 import today for cheap but dont want to if I dont get all the gold I worked hard for in the pub games to transfer.

Why can I hear some voice (sounds kind of like Fat Bastard but higher pitch) constantly dissing my character? I want to find him and kill him.

This game and I haven't always seen eye to eye, but many of the sidequests are really just amazing. Any time I'm feeling down on the game, I manage to do a sidequest that I think is so great that it renews my love for the game. I just did the
one where you have to sleep Brightwood tower.
I really liked it a lot. Earlier, I did the one about
Captain Dread
and thought that was great, too. There have been many others, but those are the most recent.

I'm really generally not one for these kinds of open-ended games, but this one is really satisfying.

God damn but I am living the life of simple nobility.

My dog, Nacho. My little baby girl, Kit. My wife, Alex. I work some nights at the Blacksmith, some nights at the Bar. I rent out a little Gypsy cart down south and an apartment building in the Bowerton Market. I've got a little Pie Stand there too.

Ben The Dog Lover. The Change We Need.
