I hate to say it but the children thing was handled poorly.
My wife and I had our first kid a few months before I
went away for 10 years
. When I returned, my daughter was 10.. We had our second one right before I decided to finally beat the game. When I returned after the ending, my new son was also 10. But so was my daughter. Still 10. How the hell can the kids be the same age when they were born more than 10 years apart?
Aging for all kids should have been gradual at least up to teenagers. My daughter should be a teen now if my son is 9/10 years old.
I hope Fable III handles this better. Weather and seasons as well as realistically aging children would make it the most amazing game ever. It's not that hard to do really. Age is a variable. And each age would be a different base character model. Just swap in the correct character model for the age. I should be able to watch my children go from crib to crawling on the floor to taking their first steps to being a terrible two year old to being a 10 year old to being an angsty teenager to being a college graduate and moving out.
The next Fable's story should take place over the course of a real lifetime. At least 65/70 years with the afterstory taking place in retirement. (At this point just freeze the aging so you can sandbox for a while.
Also, someone mentioned not getting 10 years of money after the whole tower thing. Man, what a missed opportunity. Let's hope the next game remedies this too.
The goddamn map. Along with the no checkpoint insanity of GTAIV, this is a perfect example of a AAA developer forgetting basic game design 101. Like what the hell were they thinking? Nothing on the maps is labelled, you can't zoom in, you can't see neighbouring regions, and you can't see an Albion map.
Sure, you can get around with the maps and teleporting eliminates the need for a map altogether, but without a proper map I just don't get that epic feel like I got from Oblivion.
Fucking awesome game tho. Exceeded my already high expectations.
I seriously hope they patch the game to either give some sort of decent world map alternative, or at the very least make it so that we can zoom in on the incredibly cramped and damn-near illegible menu map.
I adore the game, but the fact that there's no decent map in the menu is completely inexcusable. I'm not sure how that ever got through quality control. It screws with the otherwise awesome exploration aspect of the game.

I really do hope they will add some nice dlc, quests clothes weapons what have you. Since its about time to shelve Fable 2 and it would be nice to have something to come back to a few weeks or months later.

My guess is that it was probably one of Molyneux's design points. I remember in one of his interviews he said he didn't want the player essentially out of the game reading a map to get around as that would detract from what was actually going on in front of them. Or something to that affect.
Not that I agree with it. Personally I think it leads to the game having a kind of disjointed feel. There are all these great areas, but I don't really have any feeling of how they exactly connect together since most of the travel is warping to previous locations. Like Bloodstone doesn't really feel "south" of Bowerstone to me, it's just another spot.

I really dont get it either. The teleporter pads in fable 1 were much better than simple warping. It at least made you put some effort into learning where you can teleport and how you can use them to get to places you want.

That's perfectly fine reasoning for not having an in-game map, but at some point you need some sort of legit menu map to let the player get their bearings straight and be able to know where they're going and where things specifically are. They still have a map in the menu, so you're still going to the pause screen every so often regardless. So they should have not made it so half-assed.
Just finished the game for my first time. Just around 14 hours. I'm pretty satisfied. There are some rough edges that could have used some polishing, mostly just glitches and whatnot but overall I'm pretty satisfied. What are most of you doing once you finish? Doing more stuff in the world, or starting a second game?

I thought the kid would actually grow up along with you, that's pretty lame. And here I am waiting for my kid to grow.....I thought the kid became nice or evil depending on your actions....
* Logged out of xbox live due to ISP issues
* Try logging back in
* 2nd log in fails
* System signs you out of your profile
* All game progress since last save lost (in this case ~1hours worth of being in the same area dealing with people)
Who is the clown who designed this profile/save system?
(On the plus side this means I have less crimes to deal with the consequences of )
So I have 2 augments, one does extra damage at the cost of life drain and the other steals life from enemies. These should work fine in conjunction, correct?
Damn, I'm ready for some DLC weapon and clothing packs :\ Even most of the Legendary weapons with the exception of like 2 or 3 are still kind of blah. Also wish that augments would actually change the look of the weapon or add effects. Is it too much to ask for a damn sword covered in flames or something?
Dumb question, but is there any easy way to take ownership of a house/business? I found one house I liked that was owned by a woman, seduced her, but then when I proposed her husband became the owner of the house. I lured him out of the city, murdered him, but when I returned someone else had purchased the house out from under me :lol
Really like this one, didnt know that hero/heroine idle weapon stance changed depending on the melee weapon though. I just assumed all the melee weapons were held in basically the same fashion.

well if you keep luring them away and killing them, the house will devalue as people will get afraid of owning the house over time (that is, if it follows the same rules as businesses)

Can the silver keys and gargoyles still be found after completing the game? I haven't done it yet, but I think I screwed myself by doing a quest where the
I think I was the first to post how to get all three achievements in one play through. You can select one, watch most of the ending (until the credits start), then reset the Xbox 360 and choose one of the others.

I'm at the end of the game, can someone tell me the differences that occur in the world if you choose
Sacrifice or Love. I want the dog back, but does the sacrifice option open any thing new up
They are both crap compared to Love if you've been investing in property. I had 1.6 million in gold just lying around doing nothing by the end of my game anyway.

Wheres the best place to go to buy weapons and guns? I'm talking about stuff with stat damage better than 90
You cannot do actual damage to buildings with Inferno, though it can appear to set things on fire. It is only a visual effect, but still nice. I know my level 5 Inferno blast scared an alchemist out of his shop, set some things on fire, and destroyed all of the bottles on his counter.
You do not need to. You get it early on, and it is unlimited use. If it isn't showing up in the auto-context menu you can still access it with the right bumper, then choose Dog. The "heal" option is in that sub-menu.

High Rollers coat from pub games. Also, is there more pieces to the Assassin's set besides the coat? I've finished the game, and have yet to see any other pieces.
I've done pretty much everything I know to do in the game and never found any other parts of that outfit. I also do not think it was in the "Outfits" menu. Although, I found it odd that the Bandits outfit is and yet that apparently meant I'd be going barefoot.
Anyway, dying clothing is much, much more convenient than I thought it would be. You only ever need one bottle of each color dye, and you can then dye as many things that color as you'd like. So, it should be easy to dye some pants/gloves/whatever to match the assassin's coat.

This has probably been answered before, but I can't find it: do your kids ever grow into teenagers or adults?
Unless they plan to age them later on, or there is something hidden in the game to age them later, no. They are infants and children and nothing else, at least thus far.

Question regarding game progression...
I have been doing side-quests and stuff rather than going to become one of Lucien's guard with Hammer because she talked about not coming back... is that true? Will I be unable to return to the mainland or is it just talk in case I were to die kind of not coming back?
A bit of both I suppose? (no real storyline spoilers follow)
It is meant to make you feel a bit tense, within the storyline, but you will also be there a while. Potentially, some sidequests may be closed if you don't do them. I can't say for certain as I did all those I could before leaving, but I suspect a couple might not be available after if you skipped them.

Basicly i picked the good ending and now i am really emo about it. Moral of the story is, if you want to have fun after the main story is over, be evil all the time.
That's not far. Two of the choices are arguably good, one is slightly selfish, but still. The reaction you get is not overwhelmingly negative. Consider it the "neutral" choice.
That potion is a "big deal" choice. Maybe bigger than the endgame choice! If you drink it the game immediately saves. If you do not, and leave the room, it evaporates. You have one chance to make the choice, and it is permanent.
Teknoman said:
Hopefully that'll be patched in. Teleporting is convenient...but I really like to travel to my destinations the old fashioned way.
By the end of the game not having a good map had forced me to learn the towns and the layout of the land. I could easily run from Bowerstown through Oakville over to Westcliff and then catch a boat over to Bloadstone. In a way it is more engaging than if I had a map.
Zeliard said:
No, the way to do that is like the Witcher, where the consequences to your actions and choices aren't seen or felt for hours of play.
This is essentially punishment for experimentation. Not cool. What if he just wanted to see what his character would look like as a female?
Honestly, it isn't so bad. It is one of the last choices you will ever make. You can't access it until you have both finished the game, and accumulated over 1 million gold. By that point your character has done most everything he or she can, and the game gets across the permanence of the choice.
I can get as many Lucien dolls as anyone wants and will be happy to provide them. Getting second place at this point is more trouble than just getting first (but far more valuable). Everyone who wants a Lucien doll add me on XBL: Mjolnir T Stone
As far as the dog lagging behind you, if you play with it and do the pet emote, you will notice that when you are running around, your dog runs ahead of you. Ignore your dog and he lags behind you alot of the times. Sorry if that was already mentioned, but a few people on-line had asked as well...
Played around for an hour or so after I completed the game and I remember why I loved the first Fable so much. There's so much to do when you're not trying to complete the game, just accomplishing tasks at your own will.
for the people that have already finished the game
after you buy the fairfax castle and do the subsequent quest, the dungeon eventually leads to a sex change potion reward. do not take it if you don't want to permanently change sex. i took it to see how my character would look thinking i would just reload my save but it autosaves as soon as you take it....@##$@##.
There are some spoilers that follow, but there are at least 3 really, truly amazing possibilities for major expansions in this game, that I can think of.
#1 -
If you choose "Love" as your ending, you get a letter from your sister who has (it seems) come back to life, thanks to your wish. She may even still be a child, having missed most of your life. In either case, she describes where she is and who she is with. An expansion that saw you out to find her would provide a wonderful and moving continuation of the story. The area she describes also sounds pretty impressive. It could provide a gorgeous setting.

Both Garth and Reaver seemed to have chosen to go to Samarand. Now, while Albion is apparently the Fable world's version of Europe, Samarand is Africa. The game characterizes it as being wild, at least to Reaver's perception (Garth disagrees somewhat). Either way, they are both there, and it would provide a way of seeing them and continuing their stories. Additionally, it would fully introduce black characters to the world of Fable, and I know many people complain that they can't play as a black hero. Perhaps this would help progress in that direction for Fable III.

Finally, Theresa has taken the Spire. Why? Is it for good? Is she simply using its powers to guard and protect Albion? Or does she have something more in mind? I don't know, but the developers certainly left themselves the opportunity to explore it however they see fit.
And of course, Hammer is
studying with monks in another part of Fable's world that we have yet to see. I'm less interested in it, but if it is as she explains it could be a mountainous and snow covered area. Would be fun.

Honestly, I'd be happy with a nice two page map of the world in the instruction manual. Just as a way to see the shape of the world, and where each place relates. That would be enough to give the world scope while still allowing Peter's "vision."
Playing as a girl, had a pretty sweet DP session with a couple of strangers, and then
murdered the entire town of Oakfield for the Temple of Shadows quest.
That pretty much put me over the top and now I'm completely to the left in both categories. My Demon Bitch has horns and is built like a tank. So awsome.
I thought I could lure a shop owner away and them murder then for the "owner's killed" discount, but it doesn't seem to work. I've done it a few times, but there's never any discount in that category. And then if I wait to long someone else just takes over the shop. What the hell?
Can the silver keys and gargoyles still be found after completing the game? I haven't done it yet, but I think I screwed myself by doing a quest where the

In the first game, if you let her live, she doesn't really thank your hero or anything, but instead just vanishes. It'd be lame to just turn her into a villain, as she's been a constantly morally indifferent character across both games. If they were to say that she's using the spire to protect the world, it'd be sort of lame as it throws her indifference out the window, and the same applies to the other side, as she'd just be the stereotypical "mentor you must now defeat" character.
It kind of sucks how the game ends, because the concept of the spire is really awesome, and the first time you visit the place is one of the game's major highlights. Theresa suddenly booting you out and claiming ownership comes as a real out of nowhere shock... but then they don't resolve it, and don't even flash to a "to be continued" screen or anything, it's like the game just stopped for no reason and you're left scratching your head wondering where the plot went.

Would be awesome. Could focus on Hollowmen. I keep forgetting its not some MMORPG, so its not like they can just send Hollowmen into various villages at a moments notice :lol Side effect of the XBL orbs I guess.
