I've never done it for such a dudebro game. This will be the last.
The largest I ever hosted was over 800 people for MW3. We had some big stuff, that one I kind of enjoyed except for being at work till 330am and then back at 8am.
We had strobe lights, a DJ w/ light show, the army with humvees and wall climbs, 4 55" t.v.s with the game playing, local mom/pop pizza place came out and served pizza and food, AT&T came out and gave away over $500 in goods and a galaxy (dont remember which one) phone and the local paintball place came out and set up targets in the field next to us and let people shoot (for really cheap) and win prizes.
I only went to one midnight release. Halo 3 at bestbuy. I felt like a huge fucking nerd and that was the last time ever. But the actual process was fine. They were giving away shit and there was a general excitement.
I ended up getting caught up in that and buying that stupid fucking version with the helmet. Worst decision ever.
Yeah unless Colasante is a Halo savant then the NFC West would be dumpstered.
I went to two midnight releases, the Wii which ended up being a ridiculous night that saw me walk from Union Station back to campus with no Wii. And MGS4, where I met former NeoGAF poster M3wThr33 and got a free tshirt from one of my college instructors who was working for Konami and no PS3 because my GF and I decided that it was way too late to bother waiting in line anymore for a game console.
After both of those I haven't bothered again. I just wait for price drops now.
