If you somehow shoot the end while he's in the wheelchair (must be right after the cutscene where you come out of the cave after beating the pain... can't really remember) you'll have killed him and the whole area where you fight him later on will just be filled with Ocelot's guards. I don't know if this is BS or not but it should be a pretty good technique if people ever try to do a speed run on this.
I agree with that last statement.Thos who found the Dragunov Sniper Rifle and have a quick trigger finger can sidestep a later boss battle. Dos so by sniping The End on the dock as he is wheeled back inside the warejouse. Immediately equip the sniper rifle when the cinematic ends and shoot the guard pushing the wheelchair. Continue firing at the wheelchair-bound old man until you kill him. You'll know you succeeded in taking him out if the wheelchair blows up and flies through the air toward Snake's position.
Those playing through the game for the first time are advised to allow The End to be wheeled safely back inside the warehouse. The battle against The End is one of the highpoints in the game; it would be a shame not to witness it firsthand.

Kojima should just direct the movie if it gets made. Its obvious that he knows enough about Western pop culture to do it and his game is as cinematic as they come. I still don't see how the transition would be that hard and as big a movie buff as he is, I'm sure he has actors/actresses in mind.

I swear its the most beautifully rendered scene I've ever seen in a video game. This game is seriously doing things I thought were impossible for the PS2. I'm on my second playthrough, and I'm still amazed by the talent of Kojima's team. Holy shit.

2. Why do guards seem to be afraid of snakes alone and not of scorpions and other dangerous animals you through alive at them?

Scorpions/Spiders are bloody hard to see. You can stilll poison guards by throwing either one unto them, though.

If you follow the link you will come to the transcript of the codec conversation between Snake and EVA talking about Ocelots Birth. Thought id post it if anyone was interested in reading what they actually said.
I heard that you need to blow up their food supply depot, and make all the guards say how hungry they are. Ive gotten the guards to say how hungry they are, i just didnt think to throw rotten food at them
SolidSnakex said:Is that the place where Snake ends up at after the fight with The Sorrow? That was the section that really stood out to me. I also really liked the water shattering effect that happens when Eva jumps through the waterfall on her bike.
Isn't it?! Amazing looking, really. And now consider how non-obvious that location really is (well, at least so far, maybe they will use it later on in the game). That location, and the mangrove canal, right after you get out of the cave, are two of my favorite locations so far, (as far as visuals go at least). After the fight with the Fear, EVERYONE should head down to Ponizovje South(south of the warehouse). Marconelly mentioned it before. I swear its the most beautifully rendered scene I've ever seen in a video game.

After speaking with the chief of the lab, the area is set during the day, and the way the trees relfect on the water is just beautiful. Speaking of the fight with The Sorrow...it would look incredible if it weren't for the framerate, hehe. Damages the mood a little, I think. That scene with EVA is good stuff, too.

Took me especially long, since I didn't know about him being able to sneak up behind you and capturing you. I could see how some people could hate that fight, becuase of the length/ slow pace, but for me, it was one of the more intense boss fights I've ever played. While not especially hard (fairly easy in fact), it was so much fun sneaking through the jungle trying to spot him before he spots you. The atmosphere of that fight was incredible. So cinematic, laying in the brush, listening for him with your directional mic, and all of a sudden it starts pouring rain. Combine tha with great jungle sounds and awesome graphics (for a ps2 game). Wow.

I just used the Thermal Goggles and the M37 Shotgun for both The Fear and The End. They were both easy as pie to beat, and not that intense at all. Did I cheat myself by figuring out I should use the goggles, or did you use them too?

Drey1082 said:.I also used the thermal goggles. At first it didn't really help, because I still didn't know where to look for him. (I didn't know that the directional mic worked so well.) I mostly stuck to sniping to kill him. Maybe that made it more fun for me. I've heard of a lot of people just finding him, and continuing to run after him everywhere he goes. That kinda takes the fun out of the hunting for him IMO. Anyways, I thought it was a cool boss. Now the fear... once you use the thermal goggles, that's an extremely easy fight.
Unison said:Re: The End boss fight:
Yeah, I figured that might have taken the fun out of it. I will try not to do it that way on my second time through.
If you're chasing him around, you can see his footprints with the goggles, which makes him super-easy to track. The only challenge is in getting off a shot before he does when you come face to face.
Both of the fights were cool, though. Just because they weren't hard doesnt' mean they weren't fun. That being said, I expected more out of the guy after the way he was built up.
TTP said:A food supply shack? How's like? I don't think I've seen something like that.
Oh, so you have to toss the cage onto their body, not on the ground nearby them?
I've completed the game on Extreme and got a "Orca" status. I've menaged to get about 98% (I missed a couple of them) of those green frogs. Got nothing new. Justthe Patriot, the camera and the suit

Then the kind Johnny will open the cell door, come in, and ask you what's wrong... Sometimes kindness can be a bad thing...:lol :lol :lol
You probably already know this, but the ga-ko camo only makes noise if you haven't shot the green frog in the area yet. The noise is also locational, so by pressing start twice (to get in/out of the menu, no need to re-equip camo) you can trigger the noise again and hear if you're closer or farther away.
