Loeb wins his very first race in a GT car? The guy is superhuman.

It wasn't exactly his first race in a GT car, he's already done GT races in various series like GT Open, French GT and Frech Porsche Cup. He's a great all-round driver, he has a 2nd place finish in LeMans and has tested F1 cars. The only thing that stopped him from starting an F1 race was lack of single-seater experience.

Looks like they are still doing Live Streaming Preview for V8 Supercars this weekend.

http://www.v8supercars.com.au/v8live/live

Cool, should be a good race this weekend. Symmons Plains is a short track, but kind of cool. Also a new format for sprint rounds this year:

The Tasmania Microsoft Office 365 will be the first V8 Supercar event to experience the new 60/60 Super Sprint race format, designed specifically to produce more spectacular and compelling racing. These changes coincide with the introduction of Nissan and AMG to the grid in 2013, adding a 'pure racing' element without the need for fuel or tyre conservation.

60/60 Super Sprint format on the Saturday will consist of 2 x 60km halves with a 15 minute half time break and two independent 100km races on the Sunday, all with no refuelling. The first half starting position in Super Sprints will be the order of qualifying, with the second half order based on position at half time. Points and podium will be awarded after the second half. In addition the second half of these races will begin with a side by side rolling start where the lead drivers must only accelerate in a designated zone past the start-finish line.

Why would they have done that? Fuck, that blows... depending on the car, would have to have been a contender. Having said that, he's really only been in competitions that are time trial based (that I know of). Whether he'd have the ability to fight and overtake or he'd just have to rely on disobeying team orders to overtake... I dunno.

Is it just me or does Marc Marquez look like Jacky Ickx? Long lost son maybe?

Thank god Motogp is back.

Haha, to me he reminds me of the Joker (Jack Nicolson version). Something about how he smiles. Unbelievable talent though and if he can keep the rookie crashes to a minimum, he has to be a title contender. The last race of last season proved that. Started at the back of the grid (in Moto2, many more bikes) and just carved them up. Its one of the best rides I've ever seen.

I agree, thank god MotoGP is back, but also Moto3 and Moto2 which are often better than the main game as far as close competitive racing goes. I don't mind car racing but bike racing I could watch all day.

That was in 2009. I don't know if he's applied for one recently.

Decent stuff in Martinsville today. Also liked that NASCAR didn't throw a caution as soon as a car was turned around, giving me hope for longer green runs tomorrow.

Wondering if there is some kind of lottery lined up for people who want to dump Joey as to who gets to punt him into the wall.

Damn. Good to see someone step up to challenge 888/Vodafone

And again!

Top 3 for Race 5.

1) Mark "Frosty" Winterbottom
2) Fabian Coulthard
3) Jamie Whincup

Craig Lowndes only managed P5 and P11.

Symmons Plains is such an awesome little circuit.

Do they not have commentary on this? I've only just flicked over to that stream for the first time this weekend.

That reminds me, I'm going to continue on my wish for having some kind of motorsport stream that shows a race live but without *any* commentary at all... just car/track/enviro sounds. That footage from... Sebring? Laguna Seca? last year was fucking stunning, like poetry.

Awesome! Yeah, love the hairpin, the first time I saw it I couldn't figure out what happened to the road, I couldn't see the other straight they are so close together.

I think they do for the race, TylerD will know. Yeah, a commentary free option would be godly. I had foxtel back in the day when the AFL coverage just started, I loved the no commentary option on there.

SPEED would show P1/P3 of a F1 weekend as just the world feed. No other audio than what the camera picked up (and radio chatter). It was so good!

I've been at Barber all weekend so far for the Grand-Am/Indy Car event. Great weather and some good racing as well. Both series have broken the track record, especially the Indy Cars as they are hauling ass. Nice to see a few drivers have been taking it to Will Power throughout practice and qualifying, should be a good race tomorrow!

There has been commentary for every session I have watched on the superview stream.

Race 4 for the V8s in 2hrs 15 mins.

Here is something kind of like what you are describing from Petit Le mans last year.

24 mins

and this from American Le Mans series at Virginia International Raceway

19mins

^^ Car porn. It's funny how removing the commentary almost converts whatever it is from covering a sporting event to a full-blown (nature-style) documentary.

Thanks guys! I just found it weird that for the 5 minutes I caught of that stream, there was no voiceover at all.

It's a great track to really show the performance of an IndyCar. They are pulling some serious Gs around that place.

Pissed that SPEED2 and Comcast still haven't figured out how to play nice. What a joke. I would have loved to have seen MGP qually this afternoon.

Yeah, thanks for telling me earlier :p

Do they have any kind of paid content or stream or channel or anything? Is that YT channel basically a side-thing to do with a cable channel in the US, or is it just a website?

It looks like the sort of thing I'd pay money for, if it meant I could have different types of motorsports on tap.

Nope, just the YT channel. They were part of an initiative by Google to have quality original programming, so presumably G throws them some cash. It's certainly pay-worthy quality, done by professionals.

They do they best they can at covering motorsports from the internet. They hold no rights, so race footage is often off limits.

So round 1 of 8 Super GT is about to start from Okiyama.

You might be able to find a aurally awesome no commentary stream at a site that rhymes with bee eye knee rocks.

These cars sound a-m-a-z-i-n-g

300Km but 2 drivers? Never seen Super GT before so I'm not exactly familiar with the rules.

And yes, the audio is so damn good.

Haha, that was awesome on the pit radio. "Front right is completely *fucked*".

PS. Dead Man, do you agree with me when I say "why the fuck aren't these guys doing the F1 coverage in Australia as well"? So much better than the inane bullshit that opens up after every ad break at every F1 race.

FUCK. Argh. Damn it. Come on, Frosty.

Edit: Holy shit, no idea how the fuck he held onto that. Was that damage from Coulthard's overtake on the hairpin?

PS. All dat red :(

Great racing, that crash was insane. I really want a gif of the slow mo shot with a guy in the background doing a full on super hero sprint to safety.

For sure. Of course, a one armed monkey would be better than those guys.
