Troy Williamson clocked in with a 4.31 and 4.32. Several scouts had him ahead of Williams before the combine; his stock continues to rise.

No he didn't. He ran 4.38 and 4.40. That guy from Hampton ran 4.31. I'm missing todays workouts.

Holy shit, if Tampa Bay can get a halfway competent QB, they're going to be scary:

We're hearing that USC WR Mike Williams originally opted not to work out at the NFL combine because he had already been promised to be selected No. 5 overall by the Buccaneers.

:o

edit: Peter King sez:

8. I think, and I hate to say this because Muhsin Muhammad is a very good guy and a great football player, Chicago is where receivers go to die.

Clayton and Williams?!

That would be too much talent at WR for the Bucs, something has to level this off...or someone...

Forgot to mention I was told this morning that rumor has it that the Dolphins are interested in filling their runningback need with Travis Henry. If I were the Bills.... Trade for Randy McMichael. ;) A good receiving TE is the one piece that offense is missing (sans an offensive line).

I'd make that trade no problem, McMicahel is a good TE. However, the trade with the Cardinals is all but done. The Cardinals just have to decide what Travis is going to do with his contract, but once they figure that out, Travis will go to Arizona, and LJ Shelton will be heading to Buffalo.

Shelton? Werd yo, I'm fine with Euhus or Campbell as it is, though they are serviceable. They seriously need an O-Line though. :lol

Yeah, Shelton for Henry seems like an all-around good trade. It would be even better if the Bills could find a way to hang on to Jonas Jennings at the same time, but he's looking for a $10 million signing bonus.

From 49ers-age:
* Redskins about to give Rolle a huge contract, including signing bonus in the neighborhood of 10-15 million. Balls, howcome the Redskins can pull cap room out of their ass every off-season with no apparent reprecussions? What a joke.

I wish I knew.

Mother f.... Redskins pursuing Rolle. That secondary is going to be very strong if they can sign him to compliment Fred Smoot. The entire NFC East is making moves, except for the Giants. C'mon guys. :(

What about a QB? They might need one of those too lol

When is the last time they made the playoffs again? Who cares how they spend their money, its not producing results. The best players they have on defense, the one strength of this team, were the ones they drafted. They dont seem to be aware of that fact considering how quick they are to trade away draft picks every year in favor of big names looking to get paid.

Because Joe Gibbs is your god and saviour.

he didn't WANT to go to the playoffs last year.

Just like how he didn't want to manage the clock all of last year, right? He's done after next season, he'll rather deal with rednecks than spoiled athletes.

The Bucs really are Raiders-East:

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dwight Smith was arrested early Tuesday and charged with a pulling a pellet gun on two fans who approached his car while he waited in line at a McDonald's window.

Smith, a star in the Super Bowl two years ago, was inside his car with a friend at 4 a.m. when a woman in the car ahead of them recognized the player, the Hillsborough County sheriff's office said.

With that said, I could see how he might be worried for his safety at 4AM in the morning.

anyone else a bit shocked that the pats declined Troy Brown's contract? I was a little stunned.
Ah well, he's a free agent now....

Are you serious!? The Pats are making some serious cuts.... I questioned Belichick after cutting Lawyer Milloy, but look at how that worked out. :lol (They also released Roman Phifer and Ty Law.)

oh and this....

The Lions' first step in constructing their offensive line is complete: They have agreed with center Dominic Raiola on a new five-year contract.

*sigh* once again. they better do something impressive in free agency or draft, and garcia isn't it.

Carolina might have some interest in soon-to-be-released Packers OG Mike Wahle...and they should. He's probably better than those hideously terrible guards we had (Tutan Reyes, Matt Willig, Doug Brezenski, etc) last year.

Heard you guys are interested in Donovin Darius also:)

well.....

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed franchise player Donovin Darius to a one-year tender contract Tuesday.

who the hell is methodmax!

It was I who said that! :lol :lol :lol

Edit: love the site fmt, probably head there every week during the nfl season

Troy playing on both sides of the ball and special teams wasn't good enough for them, they also wanted him to be the recievers coach!

One-year tender is french for TRADE.

I swear to god if the Lions sign Jeff Garcia.... *sigh*
Thank you. If it's not a colossal first round bust, it's an over the hill never-was. I'm getting real sick of Mariucci and his San Fran leftovers.

We nee to go all defense in the Draft and FA this year. Except I do hope they draft a "project"QB in the 2nd/3rd. Like the guy from Auburn or Vick clone in Arena league. Lord knows if it's an honest competition this year Joey might not even beat a rookie.

I'd rather the Fins push hard for Edge or Henry rather than waste a pick on a RB. Sorry, I don't believe it's worth the risk right now. There's no standout back this year IMO. Nothing worth wasting a #2 pick on. OTOH, we have to get a RB somehow, so if the draft is the only way to go, then so be it. But Adrian Peterson is the obvious college RB stud, so it looks like we got #2 at the wrong time. I'd agree with them trading down this year, if only b/c it's not gonna make a damn bit of difference where we pick in the first. So long as it's not another defensive pick, we'll be fine. RB or OL. That's what I'd go with. And eventually, they'll have to start looking to the future at LB. Maybe use a later round pick on an OLB. PEACE.

No standout back? NO STANDOUT BACK?

You'll be sorry if you skip over Ronnie Brown. Dude's the real deal.

FSN have reported that the Seahawks are releasing Anthony Simmons. WTF!?! Didn't they sign him to a long term contract last year? I realize that the guy has been injured a lot but when healthy he's probably the best LB they've got.

If this is true, a stud LB just hit the open market.

Cadillac is the real deal, too. Ronnie will probably put up better numbers, while Cadillac will be on Sportscenter more often. Either one is the real deal. Benson should have a good NFL career, as well, although I think that going with either one of the Auburn guys would be a better move.

To say that there aren't any standout RBs this year is just stupid. There are three legitimate top 10 backs, more than any other position in the top 10, and there is a solid group of about 5 2nd to 3rd round picks, of which at least 2 or 3 could end up being starters one day.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Ravens have signed former Titans receiver Derrick Mason to a 5-year deal. No other terms disclosed yet.

ESPN News reports Jeramiah Trotter is close to signing with Kansas City.

This report is false. Trotter isnt even scheduled to visit KC till tommorow. Either way if my team is stuck with Simonau starting at MLB again I will murder someone.

Mason's signing should be great news for the Ravens. I'm still afraid he might tank after the saga of Kevin Johnson, but I've got high hopes. I hope Volek enjoys his time together with Bennett, now that there's nothing standing in his way of pumping Drew full of his balls.

I would love for the Giants to not have to see Trotter ever again. :D Dirtiest fucking player in the game, friends.

Lot's of news, some mentioned above.

Jags sign Donovan Darius to a one year deal.

Cowboys release Dexter Coakley (WHAT THE FUCK!?)

Niners release Brandon Whiting.

Brad Johnson and Joe Jurevicius were released from the Bucs

Raiders release Frank Middleton, Ray Buchanan, and Roland Williams

It's official, the Pats and Cowboys are officially crazy.

Pats are falling victim to the curse. They will go 7-9 next year. Cowboys are just plain dumb, I still cant believe they signed Bledsoe.

I don't like Bledsoe but he can't be worst than Vinny. They didn't have that many options, today is the start of free agency and who is available? Jeff Garcia? LOL. I'd like them to play Henson a lot more to see if he can play.

So would cowboys fans consider the coakley signing a good deal? Rams fans seem split, some say he's too old and he's lost a step.

I'm thinking this is the reason the Cowboys dropped him.

Garcia is head and fucking shoulders above Bledsoe.

It won't be long until he proves you wrong. Thankfully for us, the only real statement that can be made is that JP Losman can't POSSIBLY do any worse than Drew.

Well i heard the cowboys are switching to a 3-4, and he's possibly just not suited to play their new scheme? Also heard parcells wanted to keep him, in a nickel LB role. I'm sure he's definitely an upgrade over what we got now tho lol

Raiders release Frank Middleton, Ray Buchanan, and Roland Williams

Williams: good blocker at TE

Buchanan: likely to get re-signed, this was a salary issue. He will hopefully be used as a CB again, since Schweigert will be the starting FS, with Derrick Gibson back at SS

Middleton: the only time we saw him was when he got in Derrick Brooks' face after killing Rich Gannon

Pat Williams heads to Minnesota, and Jonas Jennings moves on to San Francisco. Good god did the 49'ers overpay for Jennings. a $12 million signing bonus, are you nuts? :lol
