I don't know why I keep saving J-Russ pictures... they're going to be as irrelevant as his career sooner rather than later.

A-WALT FUTURES

A-WALT FUTURES
111.1 rating. Who can argue with that?!

AWalt futures!

Let's be serious for a moment here, though.

- The playcalling on both sides of the ball was SHIT. Absolute shit.
- The offense abandoned the run too early because they figured they had to play catchup.
- This was JRuss' first real game. He started looking better as the game went on and as they started giving him better plays than the same fucking rollout 10 times.
- The oline was garbage in terms of pass protection.
- 10 billion penalties (96 fucking yards on penalties). A bunch of first downs overwritten by penalties
- Dropped passes -_-
- Al Davis is still alive.

I won't even mention how the game started with the fucking refs.

Last night proved one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt, JaMarcus Russel and Tarvaris Jackson have no business being in the NFL.

And Aaron Rodgers is awesome.

I honestly didn't think Russel was too terrible, it was more or less his first meaningful start and it's not like he had much to watch and learn from last year. The team around him is just hopeless though. Worthless offensive line and even more worthless receivers. The defense was supposed to be good but they blew last night. He has absolutely 0 chance to succeed on that team. Poor guy.

I really don't get why an otherwise talented team like the Vikings was content to stick with Tavaris Jackson with no real competition...

you must have skipped the first half

It's mindblowing that the Vikings didn't at least go after Pennington. They have a good D and great running game. All they need was an adequate QB to make them a legit contender.

Hey-- PFT is reporting that there's some breaking rumors about Vince Young, Jeff Fischer and the police being called to the Titans practice facility last night. They won't go into it which means it could be bad. Anyone got any info on this stuff?

edit: And why the hell didn't anyone in the booth last night mention that Peterson laying out Harris like that was retaliation for Harris' low blow last year that sliced up Petersons ACL? I shouldn't be reading about that link the day after... that's something the booth guys should have done in their research.

double edit: Looks like Fischer was talking to VY or something and VY just left his phone and took off. Fischer spent like four hours looking for him and finally found him at the teams practice facility. Police were called to the scene because of VY's "mental state". Soooo I'm reading this as Fischer just had to keep his QB from trying to kill himself? wtf. Get that kid some god damn help.

Awesome. So Peterson is a whiny bitch. Oh well, Packers have gotten the better of him (and Childress) in each of their meetings, so let him run his mouth. He can be the new Chris Hovan.

I think its pretty evident that VY lacks the maturity needed to play QB in the NFL.

Does anyone know the real story about the Titans during the 2006 draft? Did Fisher actually want to draft Young? I had a feeling that Norm Chow wanted Leinart or Cutler more than VY? If thats true then that sucks for Fisher.

I was reading the stories yesterday about how supposedly Fischer had to force Young back into the game in the 4th quarter. Apparently he didn't want to play after all the boos. Dude's apparently got a lot of Kordell in him, in both his abilities and cry baby attitude.

If I remember correctly there was an internal struggle over who to draft, but I can't remember who wanted whom. I'm sure Chow would have wanted Leinart more, though.

Holy hell. It looks like the Titans might have thought Vince Young was going to kill himself last night. His friends called the team and told them that his house was a complete mess and he was missing, they called the police and a search went out for Young full with negotiators...Colin Cowherd talking about it on ESPN Radio now.

listening to that would make me want to kill myself.

Vince Young is a Pats fan? Who knew.

Combined Bay Area wins for the year. Over, or under 8? :lol

me cries

edit: Also, wow about Young. Everyone just blew off his talk of retirement after his first season, but maybe he really does have serious issues. I hope it all turns out for the best.

thats pretty tragic about VY everytime I saw him play in college he always looked so happy. I hope he gets the help he needs.

Vince Young has 26 million reasons not to want to hurt himself

This is the story:

Nashville police got a call from Young's family 7 PM Monday, saying that Young left the house abruptly w/o his cellphone and they were "worried" about his state of mind. Now, from what I'm hearing they haven't found him yet... but this is too strange for school.

No one likes to be booed when they're trying. This is why I always said "fans" are the most hypocritical people in the would. And eznark, when the imagined weight of the world is on your shoulders and you're surrounded by demons (imagined and figurative) money means absolutely shit.

First of all, he shouldn't be playing football if he can't handle being booed when he plays badly. If you aren't of the personality type who can take it, you shouldn't be playing. If I were in charge of the Titans, he'd be gone if he really said he didn't want to come back in the game before his injury and after his second pick. Nobody likes to be booed when they're trying? Too fucking bad. Either Vince can put on his big boy pants or go work at McDonald's. Nobody will boo him there, and they even have pictures on the register so nobody will expect him to read anything, even defenses.

As for eznark's comment, it was a pretty clear reference to the retarded T.O. publicist who tried to say he could never attempt suicide because he's rich.

note: Everything said above is on the assumption that Young really wasn't any danger to himself as is currently being reported, and is only a reaction to what he did on the field. I hope he gets any help he needs if he truly was a danger to himself or others, but if he wasn't and he was just being a bitch on Sunday, everything stands.

Damn, what an awful week 1 it has been.

Norm Chow has also come out recently and said that he did not want Vince Young, and took his selection as a sign that Chow would not be the offensive coordinator in Tennessee for long since Young did not at all fit what Chow wanted to do. Which is, of course, playing football with a quarterback who can pass. Unfortunately, VY just doesn't quite fit that old-fashioned mold.

I never understood booing your own players. Yes we know everyone wants to win and some are borderline clinically crazy about it, no its not "dedication" because your dedication to your team has no bearing on how they do.

Boo the ref's when they make a bad call.
Boo the other teams players when they make a good play or celebrate a good play.
Dont boo your own goddamn players.

I do believe Bud Adams wanted him because he was from Houston and wanted him to be seen by us Houstonians twice a year. Cause you know Bud Adams is full of class like that.

I dunno, when your star QB who is making insane amounts of money and singlehandedly trying to lose the game for you, and it's just a continuation of all you've seen, I can understand it. Some folks don't understand how great the rest of the Titans team is. Vince Young is the best thing that has happened for the other 31 teams.

Im not defending him he needs to suck it up, man up and produce, or get mental health help if he truly has problems.

But booing your own players doesnt help anything. Look at how much of a head case Lidge became, he would get boo'ed for letting one guy on base when he was in Houston. Now he's back to the Lidge of old in Philly.

Oh my bad I guess they did find him:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3577597

Young was booed during Sunday's season-opening victory over Jacksonville and did not finish the game because of an injury to his left knee. The Titans are expected to reveal results of an MRI on the knee sometime Tuesday, and possibly a timetable for the quarterback's return. Fisher said Monday it's not believed to be a season-ending injury, and ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported Young will miss two to four weeks.

After throwing an interception in the fourth quarter, Young was late to join the offense for its next series, creating speculation that he tried to take himself out of the game after throwing what was his second pick. He sat on the bench after that interception, seemingly unmoved by players and coaches who tried to console him, often holding his head in his hands.

Fisher explained Monday that the issue was tightness in Young's hamstring and that there wasn't clear communication on the sideline about his ability to return to the field. Young did return to the field, but four plays later he injured his knee.
Of course he could be pissed he got hurt and all IN ADDITION to the boos. We all show emotion differently in adverse times ... look at Keyshawn when Testaverde was OFY in Game 1 some 10 years ago.

Broncos bitch slapped the Raiders in Oakland... week 1. FUUUUCK YEAH!!!

Eddie Royal = Denver's own Brian Westbrook, in terms of versatility and feel for the game. Oh man have we needed a guy like that for a long time. He's just so poised and comfortable out there and just looks like he knows what he's doing.

Cutler looks like a fucking stud.

Our pass rush looked decent, a lot better than recent seasons. Though it was the Raiders.

Only clear and obvious weakness was our rush defense. Oh well, hopefully we improve.

1st place AFC WEST!!!!

LOL at the Raiders using Denver's blocking scheme!!!! HAHAHAHAA!!!!!
No SHAME!!!

DeAngelo Hahahall....

This one is for Bionic77. I despise every team you like but I feel you will find this amusing so I had to post it. Straight from the Sports Guy mail bag ( i'm sure you love him too)

Question : MEMO

From: Satan

To: Tom Brady

Subject: Re: Our Deal

I've fulfilled my end of the deal. Now, your soul is mine. Can you please notify Belichick that I will be collecting him and his video tapes in the coming weeks once I finish with Archie Manning and sons?

SG: (Cringing …)

Do you send that one in? :D ...no really

Q: Brady's out. That really sucks. But it could be worse -- you could be a Seattle sports fan. Let me break it down for you: The Mariners are struggling through one of their worst seasons ever. Our Sonics, the only team to win a professional title in Seattle, moved the team to Okla-friggin-homa and stuck us with the Storm. And the Seahawks -- in Holmgren's final year, mind you -- are now without their TOP FOUR RECEIVERS! Imagine losing Moss, Welker, Gaffney AND Kelley Washington. Plus our quarterback is having back problems (including rumors of bulging discs), and our best running back left last week's game with an injury. Of course, a 6-10 record might win our division, which means we get to lose in Round 1. Oh, and the travesty that was the excessive celebration call on Washington's Jake Locker. But on the bright side … well, I give up. Be thankful you don't live in Seattle.
-- Dan Gomez, Seattle

SG: I have to say, that made me feel a little better. Maybe the good people of Seattle should form an organization called "It Could Be Worse," in which they send e-mails to suddenly traumatized sports fans from other cities to talk them off the ledge.

Poor Seattle fans :lol :lol

Uh...the announcers last night were wrong about them implementing zone blocking this year. Don't be stupid.
