:lol There are plenty of reasons for the outcome...so what? All I wanted to say was that it took an OT win for PIT to beat a QB with 3 games under his belt at home, but as long as you're spewing stats, Big Ben threw for 191 in that game...doesn't matter, he still got the W.

I know a lot of the Steelers wins weren't pretty this season and what makes them elite is that they have the ability to pull it out in the end. That said, I think if Flacco takes care of the ball this time, Ravens win.

Sometimes, a rookie quarterback can get the better of a team on the first try, because the opponent doesn't have a lot of type on his tendencies yet. Look at the Steelers and Patriots games in Ben's first season. He dropped the hammer on them in their first meeting, which was like his third start, but in the AFC Championship game, they totally had him figured out. I'm not saying that will happen, but if you give LeBeau more to work with...

There was something else to that game if you catch my drift :)

I liken it to the shitty dream team from a few years ago (Cowboys) that lost to a plucky Argentina team (Giants). Perfect analogy!
It's pretty amazing to see the Super Bowl Champions pretend that they're the underdogs.

Just because the media is stupid, doesn't mean you have to feed off of their BS. That'd be like taking Fox News into your political analysis.

Oh, then going by your rock solid arguing, so what? :lol

Ya he needs to work on that in the offseason, it good that holds out and makes plays but seriously sometimes a play is just fucked and you got to give up and fight another play instead of losing a bunch of yards on a sack
More than Ben getting rid of the ball (which he has done successfully in the last month), the offensive line needs to learn how to block. No qb can make up for a bad line, no matter how magnificent and godly they are.

Another part of the problem? WRs aren't always getting open or making the right reads. And Hines, I love the guy to death, but not only has he been dropping an unusual amount of balls, he's also been getting a lot of false starts or illegal formation calls this year. Frustrating. And to see him only have 1 catch for 2 yards last week was bizarre.

He does put them in a lot of bad positions by bailing out of the pocket prematurely, I'd say a good 20% of his sacks are purely because of his inability to throw the ball away. I know he's trying to make a play out of nothing but some of the shit he tries to scramble out of is ridiculous :lol

Yeah Hines has had a horrible year so far.

Watching some of the replays of the Eagles and Giants game I was also really pissed at how poorly the receivers reacted to blitzes. You gotta give your qb a chance on the blitz, though the 7 step drops were not helping either...

I actually have to disagree. Ben doesn't seem to be scambling very much this year. I actually wish he would get out of the pocket a little more. If he gets a few big plays running to his right it might put the defense on its heels and open up some running lanes (assuming our o-lineman can actually block someone instead of just falling down on a 4th and one like a useless sack of shit...).

NO @ CHI - "The Saints have never won a game against an NFC North opponent in an outdoor game in December. They're 0-5."

The Saints have not fared well in their only three late-season visits to Chicago. In fact, they've lost all three games: 33-25 last season; 39-14 in the 2006 NFC Championship Game; and 16-6 in the 1990 wild-card playoffs. In the latter, the temperatures were 29 degrees at kickoff with a wind-chill factor of 4. The wind-chill in the NFC Championship game was 13.

It's going to be colder than that tonight.

as much as I hate the steelers, and hope that M&T bank stadium opens up into a chasm wider than roflisberger's asshole after hines ward is done with him in the locker room, leaving no survivors, it was loltastic watching them beat down the cheatriots a couple weeks back. I guess Belicheat's gameshark doesn't work on this year's version of the NFL.

and I look forward to Ryan Fitzpatrick making Jason Campbell look like he belongs in the NFL this week. although who am I really kidding, I'll just do like I did the past month or so and play WoW with Chris Kluwe while the game is on.

I love how the Ravens players bitch and moan about a measly wide receiver who keeps knocking their supposedly tough defensive players the fuck out, when it is a scientific fact that the entire Ravens organization is really a front for an experiment (that has so far failed miserably) for rehabilitating violent convicted felons and is no way a real NFL franchise.

And yet no one seems to complain about all of the big hits the Ravens do or their ridiculous dances and interviews they do afterwards to celebrate them (i.e. Bart Scott masturbating over his hit on Roethlisberger or Mr. HGH himself (aka Ray Lewis) on his ending Mendenhall's season).

I can only predict one thing for the Ravens come Sunday.

Rocky_III_Clubber-01.jpg

Pain.

Fantasy: I have Adrian Peterson (MIN), Ronnie Brown, Steven Jackson, Deangelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Darren McFadden in my keeper league.

That was mostly just bragging though. I can't decide which three to start, I can't imagine sitting AD ever, or DeAngelo against DEN's weak D, but do I play Brown v. SF, Sjax vs. SEA or Stewart vs. DEN?

Additionally, receiver-wise, I obviously have to play Reggie Wayne, Calvin Johnson, and Andre Johnson over Wes Welker and Laverneus Coles right?

I'm freaking amazed they lasted this long, if they do indeed fold. But they might find a way to come back with fewer teams. I've been to one AF2 game, and live it's kind of a cool game. But I find it to be uninteresting as fuck on TV.

Most teams in the NFL have convicts on the roster. Just from this season

I guess the AFL is living on a prayer. I think that the league could work if they had more non NFL owners. NFL owners only worry about their NFL franchises and if their smaller ones are bleeding money then they will drop them like a drop of a hat.

Adam Jones injury season ending, highly possibly career ending according to the media in Dallas :lol

I'm a Cowboys fan but uh... karma, fool.

Was that intentional? Bon Jovi is a Area football team owner. :lol

DAAAAAAMMIT

First the awful matchup for me this week, now somebody is reporting Addai as doubtful.

Addai you better show up for practice this week!

I like that the Giants will play in a dome twice in the final three weeks. I am confident in the team's offense to get off the rock and start putting up big points again (Hixon's drop was huge).

The defense, and front seven in particular, must improve if they want to even have a chance against the Panthers and Cowboys.

Just have to stop in and say that the Lions' relentless pursuit of 0-16 has given new meaning to my life.

When the Dolphins choked last year and beat Baltimore, it was one of the most heart-wrenching, kick in the stomach moments I've ever experienced. I'm just praying that the Lions can avoid that kind of mistake and finish this season with a perfect record.

SUDDENLY, WE LIKE T.O.
Posted by Mike Florio on December 10, 2008, 9:12 p.m.

We’ve criticized Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens on plenty of occasions in the past. But he scored some major points with us via his verbal lambasting of former Cowboys (and three or four other teams) receiver Keyshawn Johnson and former Cowboys running back Emmitt “You Say Potato, I Say Pomato” Smith.

“Those two need their own show — Dumb and Dumber,” T.O. said Wednesday, via our own Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News.

Owens accused Emmitt of being a “hypocrite” for calling the Cowboys a collection of individuals, and Owens chided Emmitt for referring to rookie running back Tashard Choice as “Rashard.” (Hey, if six out of seven letters are right, that’s a good day for Emmitt.)

Of course, the Cowboys are a collection of individuals, but that doesn’t matter to us. What we’ve got here is a good-old fashioned three-way prima donna cat fight, and we hope that someone escalates the thing soon.

Get on it Espen.
