I'm watching ESPN's recap.. that move by Jimmy Smit for the Jags... holy shit... what incredible footwork.

Finneran's catch was almost as good.

Aaaaaand predictably, right on cue, Bengals fans start appearing out of the woodwork like Charger fans did last year. At least I take my lumps when the Giants lose (read: All the time) like a man!

Yeah, talk about a back breaker. Between Chrebet dropping the game winner and Jimmy Smith's nonsense along the sidelines, it was a pretty demoralizing way to lose.

ok guys, quick. Whats the over/under on how many times the Sunday Night Football announce team will forgive Eli for refusing to go to San Diego, talk about how it turned out for the best for both teams, and mention how nice he was when they had dinner with him the night before.

Spectral Glider said:
If the line continues to block like that it won't matter if Peter Parker is in the backfield.

Our O line is one of the constants of Bill Cowher teams, weird to see them get assraped like that.

And we need to use that bye to get our shit together on defense. Way too inconsistent, though we seem to get a lot of timely turnovers. Not sure if that is luck or just great defense.

Ugh, ESPN no one fucking cares about the draft anymore, stop trying to make too much out of this. There is no rivalry between San Diego and New York.

I guess he is due.

And that promo for the game with Eli in it was incredibly gay.
It's Sunday Night. Incredibly gay is their M.O. Just be grateful they don't go down on the field and fellate Eli on camera.

MAN I FUCKING HATE THOSE CHARGERS, FUCK THEM AND CHOOSING ELI! ARGH! I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS!

Yeah right. :lol I don't give a fuck, I actually like the Chargers!

Wow, they just took up the gayness even higher by trying to artificially create a rivalry.

We are close to Tom Brady levels here...

He threw a TD last week and won last week... on the "road" in Giants Stadium :lol
I guess they forgot all about the "how wonderful it is for Giants Stadium to be treated like home for the wonderful and magnificent Saints tonight" business from last week.

For some reason I get the feeling that Konex is buying into all of this super gay hype.

I am also starting to think he has a Tom Brady poster in his bedroom and Patriots underpants.

Yeah, the pass D was looking more like 2002 out there....ugh. Perhaps if the offense had some actual drives going in the second half they wouldn't have been out there so much. But it's still worrisome to see so many third down conversions.

Well, it didn't take long for the "we sat down with Eli and he is the greatest, most poised, and dare I say most handsome man I have ever seen."

I just don't think our blitz works against that bastard Brady (though amazingly it DID work for like 50% of the game). I would rather we drop a ton of guys back and occasionally blitz instead of blitzing every fucking 3rd down, the Pats O line is just too good at picking up those blitzes.

Our O line on the other hand didn't do jack shit all day long. Worst I have seen a Pittsburgh O line play in a long time.

Are there more annoying commentators than the ESPN sunday night football team? I miss Sterling and Mike Tarico already.

um, i hate to break it to you, but your team is mediocre at best. we had the 31st ranked offense coming into the game and we moved the ball on your pretty easily. not only that, but we ran all over you despite averaging less than 3 yards a carry the first 2 games of the season.

cowboys aren't going to finish any better than we are this year, i guarantee that

The Cowboys had a short week and played on the road. I wasn't exactly expecting them to play well. If you had watched the Cowboys' first two games, their defense was much better. An off game is all it was. The Cowboys were much better in their first two games. The Washington game was a fluke and, had the Cowboys lost this one, it would have been deserved. They were awful. Just not as awful as the 9ers. I guarantee that 9ers will not have a better record. They may as well just start playing Smith.

It is really pathetic.

I could really care less, but somehow Eli is now a hero for holding out (when most players would be the villain) and now the most poised qb of all time.

Eli might be the next Bret Farve.

Yeah Coughlin said to be there at 9 am and he got there at 8:55.

You're supposed to show up 10 minutes early. It's in the rules he hands out at the beginning of the season.

Talk all the shit you want about Coughlin's hard nosed style, but it's working to motivate this team. My only knock on him is his playcalling.

Does anyone else realize that the Lions are back in the division lead by default? :lol

edit:

Yeah, I was going to post it earlier.

This is a real winner of a division:

NFC North
Team W L T PCT
Detroit 1 1 0 .500
Chicago 1 2 0 .333
Minnesota 1 2 0 .333
Green Bay 0 3 0 .000

Wait, hold on Joe. I'm not getting you. Are you telling me Tomlinson didn't catch a pass until the third game? THIS game you say? Which is the third game? And not one in the first 2 games?

Ok, I just didn't hear the first 12 times.

EDIT: Did the defense miss the flight out of Newark or something?

It's at least better then when Fassel woudn't allow players out with injury on the sideline.

I wish there was a way to mute out just the announcers but still hear the sounds of the game.

The Steelers put up quite a fight, and I applaud them. You gotta hand it to Ward for making one hell of a play, while injured, under so much pressure. Great game... the Pats won, but only by 3. The last time we played them, we got OWNED. And I left Heinz Field a very proud but sad fan. :(

:lol

"Look at what a majestic play"

"WTF are you talking about? He pushed him!"

At least somebody on the announce team is willing to call bullshit once in a blue moon. :lol

It was a good effort for the Steelers but I swear everyone knew we were going to lose when we scored with like 1:30 left. I just knew that was too much time left. At least we didn't kick it out of bounds, but the coverage led to the same result anyways.

The Pats have a knack of making qb's 2nd guess themselves, but Ben once again shows how much more effective he is when he goes into the 2 minute drill. I think we should go into that mode a little more often sometimes to keep the other defense guessing.

Oh well, I am confident if we meet them again in the playoffs we will be the one that wins the close game at the end.

There we go, guys. They finally got to "Eli did the right thing."

:lol

I am serious Eli is the new Brett Farve. I have never seen so much dick sucking over another player other than Farve. I mean they are practically cheering for the Giants when something goes right and they keep talking about how fucking amazing Eli is in bed even when the Giants defense is playing.

Don't be surprised when 16 years from now Eli is washed up and throwing 4 dumb INTs per game but the announcers still compliment him on how he never changes demeanor.

I find it amazing that the ONLY players they have talked about AT ALL are Eli and Tomlinson. They haven't spoken even a little bit about ANYBODY else.

You would think the defenses didn't even exist (which, judging from things so far, apparently they don't).

Yeah, as soon as they ran the ball again, I realized the Steelers didn't stop him in time. I figured if they got far enough from that point on, Vinatieri would seal the deal... and he did. Bastard. :D

Big Ben is awesome. I know he still shows rookie status by reading plays off of his arm and whatnot, but just the fact that he's basically head to head with Tom Brady, who has a lot more experience, is amazing. If he keeps it up, imagine how good he'll be in a couple years.

Oh well, I am confident if we meet them again in the playoffs we will be the one that wins the close game at the end.
Definitely. I don't doubt for one second that when given a second chance we can beat them. It's still early.

I still say when Ward (I think it was Ward?) tried to do that last second pass in the second quarter... wow, that was a bad idea. Other than that I can't really fault the Steelers for anything. The final score shows it. NE got lucky at the last second. :)
