THOUGHTS. Beeeeeeeeears!!! Nooooooooooooooo!!! :( My heart was ripped out of the season until they win again which won't be this week. How depressing. Hysterical power rankings though. NFC North teams jump 10 spots every week. Some back, some forward. I say just keep em all on the bottom 4 and swap em. That was you don't confused yourself. So the Vikings are the best this week. Nice. The stat for Orton I liked best was more int's in the 1st half than completions last week. Anyway, almost as bothersome is our kicker missing the last 3 FG attempts. And we're a team who needs to make their FG's. That's just scary. I love this Merry-go-round rollercoaster though. Usually worst to first takes a full season. In our division you could one up that with worst to first to worst nearly in 3 weeks. TO THE GAMES!

Last week was kind of predictable, and a lot of people got a lot right. I always expect upsets but not too many actually. Miami over the Carolina "no longer Super Bowl contender" Panthers was one. But overall a predictable week. Did the NFL actually find a balance by week 3? I dunno. But since I'm feeling like I don't give a shit really it's all gut feeling from here. Welcome Buffalo to 'weeks without Vick', starring everyone else. I think you'll like it better. Jacksonville is my team outside Chicago meanwhile. I can't pick against them. They're the type of team you imagine pulling out something deep from within and winning a brawl against any team. Denver was impressive but fuck them. Go Jags! TB has my respect. Sincerest apologies for any predicting against you. GB competed like I thought but just don't have the stuff to get over. Cincy, hello you strong mother fuckers. At least another 5 turnovers on the Texans you say?? If they don't win, all logic is just fucked.

Colts kill again this week and rename themselves the Baltimore Cannibals. New England stops LT and beats San Diego. The highest rusher in the Pitt game was Corey Dillon. 61 yards. Seattle first to crack Redskins defensive shell. Only reason because the offense not getting it done tires out the D. Hasselback and Alexander are tough to mess with 4 quarters. Giants beat Rams meanwhile. It's just gonna be a shootout but what's the x-factor? Given the Rams aren't in the dome, no dagger there... Hmm, ah, Strahan. I remember how NY treated those Ram teams. There's my tiebreaker. TESTAVERDE! Oakland very well may fall apart here as a team. If they played like the first 3 weeks though they win. But they could cry. Vikings/Falcons. Kill em Vick! KILL EM! KILL EM! Close loss for Vikes. KC falls off the horse and take too much time getting back on. Iggles and TO win. Poor SF. Amazing effort but such a tough loss. They continue to fight the disrespect this week my guess. Carolina back into the Super Bowl after beating GB.

Oh, and so you know, I have no basis for this shit. I didn't even watch Primetime. I couldn't, not when it hurts so bad. It's the best or worst show in the world week to week. Either way, I still hate Tom Jackson.

Yeah, just read this. Can't hate on Vinny, he almost got us to the promised land in '98. He's a better fit in this offense, at least theoretically, since he still has a gun for an arm and we're supposed to be vertical this year. Still, even Chad had a tough time learning Hermindinger's [sic] system and Vinny's as dumb as a brick. I tell you what though, we're gonna win at Baltimore on pure will alone.

The Jets season is pretty much over. Vinny is just too old.

Now the right thing to do is to make sure to fuck up the Pats season by beating them both times and knocking their cheating asses out of the playoffs.

Wow, the retards on NFL Live keep saying that Pennington's career is over and that the Jets need to look for another quarterback.

These retards overreact to everything. He is going to have more than a year to recover this time. Last year he was playing with that bum shoulder into the playoffs, so he didn't have the full time to recover. Now if he isn't ready next year then I think you can sound the alarm bells.

Im not really an Eli hater. All I ever said was that its dumb to act like he is guarenteed to be a great player just because his brother is. Plus I refuse to say anything good about him since most Giants fans I know allready think hes better than Mcnabb, they dont need any more fuel to keep the crazy train running.

Dr. Andrews has healed broken necks before. I know this is a different situation but if can say you can go, then you can!

People on NFL Radio are saying Chad is done and saying the Jets should go after Schaub in Atlanta or even look at the upcoming draft class. They also said Chad shouldn't have been playing at all yet. He held off the surgery a month after the season instead of doing it right after the season. Someone on the Jets took a gamble with his health and lost. Chad will come back.

Tommy Maddox
Jon Kitna
Kordell Stewart(Okay, okay, that one never gets old)
Phillip Rivers/Drew Brees
Brad Johnson
Billy Volek(Not likely, McNair is too big a risk of being hurt)
Patrick Ramsey(Only if Jason Campbell seems ready to step in once Gibbs gets a moment of clarity through his senility and realizes that Brunell isn't the answer)
AJ Feeley
Jeff George(another one that's funny no matter how many times you use it)


There are probably some more, but these are the notable backups/free agents out there. On that list, I think that Maddox, Kitna, and Johnson are the most realistic. They are solid players, and have recent history of playing well. Plus, none of them would cost too much, as is the case with Rivers and Volek. Now, whether these players are significantly better than Testaverde is what the Jets have to decide. What's everybody think?

In an ideal world for the Jets, Volek would be cheap and on the market, because he knows the coordinator and would be able to jump right into the offense. The other guys are veterans who have been through multiple systems, so they would have a far better chance of adapting than Ramsey or Rivers, which is another reason I don't think those two are real options for the short term.
 
Just stay the FUCK away from David Garrard and Quinn Gray. I like our backups and I dont' think Byron will start every game at this rate :lol

No rest for McNabb

There is no doubt that the abdominal tear (sports hernia injury) for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will worsen and lengthen as the season progresses. There's nothing McNabb can do. He must simply wait out the season and then have surgery. He will be in pain for the rest of the season.

There are some who think Donovan should rest a couple weeks and get better. But the fallacy in that kind of thinking is that the tear won't really go away. Rest won't heal his injury. So, he might as well play in pain.

There is no doubt that the Eagles knew that kicker David Akers might tear his right hamstring by playing last Sunday — which is exactly what he did — and be lost for an extended period of time. He could have been fine by late November if he simply sat out for a month or longer.

The same cannot be said for McNabb. He won't be fine until he has surgery and the star quarterback can wait on that until the Eagles are out of playoff contention, which may never happen.

Even though New England coach Bill Belichick chased off Steelers trainer John Norwig from attending to one of his injured players Sunday, it did not prevent the Patriots from later asking the Steelers for crutches and some medication for the player.

Norwig, the Steelers' trainer since 1992, rushed onto the field with Pittsburgh EMS division chief Ron Romano when it was evident that Patriots tackle Matt Light was seriously injured in the second quarter Sunday at Heinz Field. That is normal procedure for the home team in such a situation because Romano would be the first to call for an ambulance if needed.

But when Belichick saw Norwig approach Light, who lay on the grass field, he came out to shoo him away. Belichick told Norwig to "get away from my [expletive] player" according to several sources. A surprised Norwig left and later could be seen talking and laughing about the incident with several Steelers doctors on the sideline.

Romano said he often has gone onto the field when a player looks seriously hurt. He said he got there after Belichick spoke with Norwig and did not hear the conversation.

"We're there to help the teams and assist in any way we can," Romano said. "I have an ambulance in place to take a player off right away."

Earlier in the game, Patriots safety Rodney Harrison also went down with what the Boston Globe reported as a torn right ACL. Steelers coach Bill Cowher walked onto the field to check on Harrison, which he has done occasionally when an opposing player is seriously injured. Belichick did not try to chase away Cowher.

Yesterday, the Steelers declined comment on the incident through a spokesman and the Patriots also had no comment. The topic did not come up at Belichick's news conference yesterday.

Sources told the Post-Gazette that the requested crutches and the pain medication were provided by the Steelers to the Patriots for Light, whom they said had a broken leg.

"We were later on asked to come to the room and provide treatment for the player, which we did," Romano said.

the rams@giants is going to be a hell of a game this week.

i think you could almost consider it a rivalry game. I have a feeling the ram offense is going to pick up where they left off in the second half of last week. Bulger is finally getting in synch. And with ike bruce out, kevin curtis adds a deep threat to our 2 WR sets which i dont think the giants will be ready for. Plus alex barron at RT should at least solidify our o-line. Only question to me is can we stop tiki barber? i think we'll hold manning and co in check.

1. I hate Eli and am not ashamed to admit it. He's a fuckin Giant. And a promiscous Homosexual. I got not problem expressing my hate. He sucks. I can't wait for the Eagles to baptise his ass in the funk.

2. For a rotator cuff, which helps you raise your arms, it'll be damn near tough for Chad to throw the ball. He looked damn near handicapped in the few times I saw him. Just no power. I feel bad for him. He was a good QB with a lot of potential.
 
My hatred for the Giants has diminished because they havent been a threat for so long and I still dont see them as one now. Same with the cowboys and redskins. The rivalrys have kinda died down since we started dominating the division. At least thats my perception.

And Andy Reid should give McNabb time off if he has that tear. 3-4 weeks off would go a long way to making him 100%. It isn't like you need to win 10-11 games to make the playoffs in the NFC so that shouldn't be a concern. I would much rather have my qb be healthy for the end of the season instead of having home field. Home field is often overrated anyways.

Hell the Steelers play much better on the road than at home. I would rather we go up to Foxboro and no matter how much time Tom Brady puts back on the clock it won't make a difference in the rematch. :D
 
League sources from within and also outside of the New York Jets' organization told ESPN's Chris Mortensen and ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli on Tuesday that orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews apprised franchise officials and Chad Pennington that the quarterback may not have suffered a torn rotator cuff, as originally diagnosed by team physicians during an MRI exam on Monday.

Andrews, the renowned Birmingham, Ala.-based specialist who performed the February surgery on Pennington to repair a rotator cuff tear, also told the quarterback and the Jets that he does not believe the latest injury is career-threatening.

I don't know, a sports hernia is the injury that kept Kenrell Bell out from preseason to week 10 or so last year(Also kept Heath Miller from being able to do any workouts leading up to the draft, and the injury was sustained while playing in January...that's a few months there, too). McNabb can be pretty well screwed if his injury is anywhere near as severe as Bell's.

Reading over this again (has it really been a few years?), it was quite poorly written but it is obvious he is not engaging in anti semitism. Unfortunately, he dealt with a stereotype that was completely unecessary to make his point, and that was just ignorant on his part. ESPN is owned by Disney/ABC which is why I really think they got rid of him.

Damned right it's a rivalry game at this point.

Tiki should be a non-factor rushing the ball. Your D is surprisingly good against the run. You guys are allowing 3.3 yards per gain.

If I were Coughlin, this is the game I look to open things up. Maybe not pass the ball on every fucking down like he did last Sunday night, but I'd look to split Tiki and Shockey out wide and try to create mismatches. Our defenses being the second worst in the league certainly won't help things. The Giants have never been a team based around an aerial attack, it's always been slow and methodical. The departure from it last week is part of the reason we lost so badly. The sport is about ball control, plain and simple, especially with such a horrible D.

Our Pass D has been historically weak, fantasy fans should look to start Bulger. ;)

At least they're not acting like dillusional victims. The Bears when they lose a QB basically say "We believe in Brooks, and we're gonna get him ready to be our quarterback". And then bring in Jeff Blake to fail miserably. Anyway, Ramsey would have been good but Kitna is easily the most suitable available QB. Only the Bengals don't seem to market him as available. What's up with that? They could probably get something good for him and fix some broken team out there.

The Bengals absolutely want to keep Kitna. He has been an extremely positive influence to Carson Palmer and is his mentor on the team. Plus, if Palmer goes down they have a more than capable backup QB.

Obviously they want to keep Kitna, but after the relative success Kitna had before he was replaced by Palmer eventually you have to think he is going to want to leave and go to another team where he has a chance of starting. If he wants to stay of course that is a huge plus for Cincy.

The AFC North might be a scary division next year if Baltimore can get an offense and keep their defense together. It is times like these I wish the Steelers played in the NFC West.

ESPN is now reporting the same story:

PHILADELPHIA -- Donovan McNabb has an abdominal strain that will likely need surgery, but the Eagles' medical staff said the star quarterback can play if he can handle the pain.

Trainer Rick Burkholder said rest will not fix the problem. While McNabb will experience discomfort, Burkholder said McNabb does not have to be sidelined now for the sports hernia.

Yeah, this is very true. Though being a football player and a damn good one at that, I would think Kitna's gotta get an itch to head another team. He's still pretty young, and he's perfoming the role a guy like Brett Favre should be filling.

I think Culpepper should be worried more than Vick. Our defense are totally different animals at home than on the road.

IGN Sports: Through-out your career, what's your most memorable catch or play?

Brown: We were playing the Oilers for their home opener in Memphis, back in 95. And we had a 4th and 10 play, and we needed a touchdown - 4th and goal from the 10. We needed a touchdown to tie the game up and go into overtime. Everybody knew that I was going to get the ball. But actually they called the play for another guy, and coming out of the huddle - I won't say who it is cause he didn't want it - he looked at me and said, "Tim let's switch." So I went outside and he went in, because everybody thought that they were covering me, and we were going to hit him behind me. So I went out, and two guys came out with me, and then there was a third guy I didn't know about too. I ran to the back of the end zone, came across. They threw the ball up high, and I went up and caught it. All three of them guys blasted me. And I did all kinds of flips and landed out of bounds. They said I would've come down in bounds. We ended up losing the game, but that was a catch that will always stick out.
