Some people are saying Mogilny is willing to play for Toronto for 1.6 million. why isn't he signed yet? Can anyone confirm this report?

cause we think its smarter to sign Lindros for 1.7 mil. i think JF jr is secretly a Canucks fan :(

I think you can tell me to STFU if i've been saying stuff like, "Tommy Salo is teh greatest!!11, cup champs!", and "OMGZ, we gonnza win it all with Smytty" for the last few years.
Notice you didn't have a response to your regularly scheduled post-season ass-reaming at the hands of the Stars, never mind the continual ownage at the hands of the Canucks. What's funnier is seeing an Oilers fan piggyback on the Flames to try and make a point. :lol

Dear Canucks fans,

Yesterday I received the news from Commissioner Bettman informing me that I have been reinstated to play NHL hockey and can now rejoin the Vancouver Canucks. This news is a great relief to me and my family and we are now looking forward to the coming season.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Canucks fans and the city of Vancouver for all of your kind wishes. Your support, coupled with that of my teammates, Canucks ownership, management and staff and my agent Pat Morris have been a great help in these very difficult times.

I've played my best hockey in Vancouver and the fans have been a big part of that. We have had some success but I feel as a team our best is still yet to come. I am excited about this team and look forward to getting back on the ice with my teammates in front of our fans.

I can't wait to get back on the ice at General Motors Place on Monday. I will see you soon.

Yours truly,
Bert

Yep, the Pens got Thibault. It's on NHL.com. I would have preferred Joseph but Thibault will get more mileage. I hope he does well. The Pens love their Quebec goalies it seems.

apparently Lindros already signed with the Leafs but the league did not allow it because he is not eligible for the bonuses/incentives similar to Allison's. They are reworking the contract.

"Anson Carter was offered a 1 year contract by the Leafs

Bruins offered Thornton a 5 year deal

Turek should be returning to the flames

Wesley agreed to a one year deal with the Hurricanes

Kings offered Cujo a 2 year deal

Rangers looking to move Poti to Canucks or Wild" -Mr. Anti-Social at RealGM forums

"Spurned by Sean Burke on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins responded by acquiring goaltender Jocelyn Thibault from the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2006 Entry Draft. Burke was considering an offer from the Penguins, but signed instead with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Thibault, 30, is a restricted free agent."

From TSN.com

Woot! I'd still like a big defenceman though.

Quite a steal by the Pens, Thibault for a 4th rounder.

The goaltender that was traded for Patrick Roy was just traded for a 4th round pick, the Rejean Houle era gets worst everyday even if he's no longer there.

I really doubt this. Turek asked the team to let him out of his contract. He signed a deal overseas. The Flames traded for Sauve as a backup.

EDIT: And look! TSN even reports his retirement!

as of yesterday mogilnys agent hasn't talked with JFJ and currently is talking with 6 other teams, florida leading the pack

Glad to have you back mike, hockey threads aren't the same without you.

Go Habs! Go Canucks! ;)

What a suckup!

Anyway, I really hope the Leafs don't sign Carter. Everyone says he's a major floater (Just what we need!!). Despite his injury history, Lindros has far more potential...Even if we were able to sign both, I'd rather take Lindros and use the rest of the money for a better sniper.

"ESPN Remains Interested in the NHL

ESPN, which in April declined its $60-million option to telecast the NHL this season, is now interested in matching any deal the league makes for broadcast rights, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday."

"Eklund's stuff

Teams after Bondra are Detroit, LA, Atlanta, and NYR

Roman Hamirlik to Toronto, Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary, and Carolina

Anson Carter is having a physical today and could be signed by friday by the Leafs" -Mr Anti Social from REALGM forums

If leafs sign Carter, i am sooooo getting his jersey (never got one before).

Notice how you never had a response for "God's Team's" failure in the post-season with your "superstars". What's your point?

*waiting for 1915 Stanley Cup reference*

Anyways, Thibault is a great pickup for the Pens, especially since they only gave up a 4th rounder. Going to be very interesting to see the Pens this year! Coyotes and Pens both got my attention.

apparently an internal memo said they goofed when offering the NHL the contract and they admitted (internally, of course) that their springtime suffered because the lack of playoff hockey :P

Eh... Dancin Anson was alright in Edmonton.

Though maybe thats because our whole powerplay was centered around giving him the one timer...

"Eklund" from a rumour site. Supposedly he has been right a few times so far.

unless someone posted the newsletter (which eklund posts usually 10-20 minutes before he updates the blog) his last entry was "Anson Carter is doing a physical with the Leafs today and could sign by Friday." which means it's not a done deal... yet.

but then again if it says done deal and signed and isn't posted yet carter really is signed then. When eklund is for sure and says it he's normally right

Yeah and he's been wrong 500 times. Don't get yourself worked up over his bullshit rumors. Heck.....you know it's fishy if dopey isn't buying it!

haha.. owned. Silly Canuck fans

All I see is that since the new millennium, the Canucks made the playoffs exactly twice as many times as the Oilers. As math doesn't seem to be your strong suit, I suggest you bone up before hitting the links (again) next April.

Wow
That canuck record is embarrassing
Looks like its going to continue seeing as they still havent replaced ol clutch.

while we're all doing this playoff dick-swinging, it should be noted the st louis blues according to the logic between edmonton and vancouver fans is the ultimate team

St. Louis blues

1968 - lost 3rd round (finals) franchise creation year
1969 - lost 3rd round (finals)
1970 - lost 3rd round (finals)
1971 - lost 1st round

1975 - lost 1st round
1976 - lost 1st round
1977 - lost 1st round
1978 - Out of Playoffs
1979 - Out of Playoffs
1980 - lost 1st round
1981 - lost 2nd round
1982 - lost 2nd round
1983 - lost 1st round
1984 - lost 2nd round
1985 - lost 1st round
1986 - lost 3rd round
1987 - lost 1st round
1988 - lost 2nd round
1989 - lost 2nd round
1990 - lost 2nd round
1991 - lost 2nd round
1992 - lost 1st round
1993 - lost 2nd round
1994 - lost 1st round
1995 - lost 1st round
1996 - lost 2nd round
1997 - lost 1st round
1998 - lost 2nd round

2000 - lost 1st round
2001 - lost 3rd round
2002 - lost 2nd round
2003 - lost 1st round
2004 - lost 1st round

So it's been almost 40 years, and the blues have missed the playoffs only 3 times. Sure they've never won the stanley cup and their first 3 years were a hat-trick of failure but whatever :P

Eric Lindros' agent is his dad

werd
You didn't know? That's the main reason why Lindros has been reviled since junior. His parents are out for him and him alone, screw everybody else. At least other agents have a client base to work with. :)

It's also the reason why the fans were throwing pacifiers on the ice during a couple of Quebec-Philadelphia games during his rookie year. :)

I like that. One year to prove their worth, then a fat extension if they do well or free agency if they don't.

And so much for Bertuzzi wanting out... I knew that was a stupid rumour.

Sorry, more Eklund rumours...but they are fun to read :D

Esche may write a blog for EKlund

If lindros goes to Toronto, Leclair might come here for the minimum,

The only places Ek can see Thornton traded is Toronto, Detroit and MAYBE Ottawa,

Mogilny may go to NJ, Florida, Washington or Toronto

Montreal still talking about Lecavalier and Burke to montreal for Theodore

Edmonton is trying a sign and trade for Sergei Federov

Messier to retire

Stevens to retire

Crosby may write a blog for Eklund

Kolzig may be traded

Peter Bondra to Sharks

Lindros doesn't wanna go to Columbus but Carl is using it to drive up the price

Cujo is waiting to go see if he can come to Toronto but Edmonton is now the front runner,

Belfour is still being shopped but its getting harder

Bondra has a good shot at the Red Wings

Red Wings might try a sign and trade with the Red Wings

Wings might include Legace in a trade for Belfour

Orther than Lindros&Carter, leafs are after Hamirlik and Cujo,

Montoya could be had at the right price,

Datsyuk and Zetterberg not close to signing,

Koivu& Theodore are asking for a lot, Theodore might be traded possibly for lecavalier"

Eklund's apparent philosophy: If you throw enough bullshit at the wall, something is bound to stick.

Red Wings might try a sign and trade with the Red Wings
No way. I doubt the Red Wings would go for it.

The Leafs just blew 800k/yr (I believe...that was his qualifying offer...) on a 2 year deal for Wade fucking Belak. How stupid are they? That money would be better spent towards a real forward, not Belak!

from Rotoworld Wade Belak has re-signed with Toronto.
It's a two-year deal. No financial terms were announced. Belak had 2 points but 109 penalty minutes in 34 games in the 2003/2004 season. His only value is in the penalty category. Aug. 10 - 4:34 pm et
