YES! The moment every Leaf fan has NOT been waiting for is here!!!!

The Fan 590 reports that Tie Domi has re-signed! Remind me again why we qualified Belak.

Ugh...Yes Leaf Haters...many of us don't like Tie. Oh well...as long as we didn't give him too much it's not the end of the world, and if this is true, maybe it'll mean that we're finally going to start signing people.

I'll be honest, I was *terrified* at the thought of Domi somehow ending up in Calgary. There was no reason to be, other than the worry that Sutter would want an older tough guy for some baffling reason. To make the resigning even sweeter, the way the TO media was portraying it the MLSE basically got on JFJ to resign Domi purely to do something to get the fans off their back. Priceless! :lol

Plan the parade

1.25 million a season, 2 year deal
Kypreos says on the Fan that he was offered more from other teams

1.25/2yr deal for tie

not too bad. he plays great in the playoffs....I just hope he can bring some of that intensity to the regular season. .25 less than jeff o neil is pretty funny :lol C'mon home town guys...take pay cuts like jeffy!

haha BJ I guess we're both listening to the fan

Why??!! :lol :lol :lol

Domi is lame. The only time I ever cheered him was when that fat fuck Philly fan Chris Falcone fell into the penalty box and Domi laid a thumping on him.

This is a desperate move by Ferguson to appease the clueless Domi zealots and to ensure that they keep buying more #28 jerseys for themselves and their poor children. Also ensures more $$$$$ being brought in. Domi is a clown. A clown that can generate revenue for the Leafs brass.

One of my co-workers told me that Cujo was at Wonderland today and was in my area...of course this was my day off but I was still in the park with a friend, but we didnt see him...

I would have asked where he thinks he'll end up next year

Gawd this week has been insane, I kept loading up the hf boards and rds.ca and tsn.ca to check up on the signings, looks like it calmed on a bit but yesterday was hectic.

I just can't wait for this season to start.

:lol That's the only time I ever took Domi's side on anything too. No wait, I actually cheered for him once as a Jet when he was called upon to bitchslap some Canucks following a dastardly Mike Peca cheapshot on one of the Jets many, many superstars. Still, even then Domi got his ass tossed too soon to exact proper vengence and it was left to Kris King to do the bulk of the heavy lifting.

The only way I think he's worth even that much is if he goes back to fighting.

EDIT: Oops, i misread that as 1.25 million for two years. Domi is getting too much from the Leafs. :(

Next year will be far worse on the cap. Since revenues will be way down(unless some sort of divine intervention takes place) the cap will be well below 39 mill. Methinks quite a few teams and players will be hurt bad. There will be a glut of talent and shortage of money. All these long term deals will really hose alot of teams.

edit; And while we're at it, by the time revenues will have started to recover a new CBA will be needed.

Ah, okay...my bad. That '02 playoff run was my second favourite for the Leafs, behind the magical run in '93.

Is it wrong to still be bitter that they lost to Carolina in the playoffs? Caro-fucking-lina??? :lol

I can't believe they signed him for over a million per season!??!! Fuck! If it had been like 400k I would have said ok keep him around. Jesus.

Shit did the old Smythe division (I think they had changed from Smythe/Norris etc to the geographical names a bit before then but you know what I mean) have some insane battles back in the day. :D

If you wanted to keep someone as a sign to the fans fans that you aren't slipping, that's fine, but why did it have to be Domi? Why not give it to Antropov, Francis or Roberts? Hell, invest the money in hip technology in hopes that Mogilny will last a few more years. Not to continue the Domi bashing, but I just don't get it....

Ever been to Toronto or seen a game on TV? Next time you do, take a look at how many kids and their dads wear a Tie Domi jersey. Why they do I shall never understand. I'd say Sundin is the only jersey that outsells Domi's in the area. Throw in the fact that fans are going nuts due to the lack of activity with UFA signings from the Leafs and you quickly understand why a guy like Domi was signed.

I've overestimated our fans if this appeases them.

very true :(

Tie domi isnt even a very good tough guy anymore ...sure he has moments where he shows some great speed and surprising offensive ability, but its few are far between.

Screw the Domi jersey, I have myself a Stajan jersey! :D

I've never been to Toronto, though I am trying to make plans to go there this season to catch a game (of course that depends if I can get free tix) I've not seen a game in a long time since ESPN seems to be the Detroit/Colorado hockey channel. I might buy the Center Ice package this year, provided it's not too expensive. I guess I didn't realize that he was so adored in Toronto. I'm a big Sundin fan, so it makes me glad to know that his jersey is the top seller.

It's stunning how much this week has mirrored the '02 free agent signing season...we went through the same shit with Domi, as he talked about how he wasn't respected and how he had mutiple offers all over the league. In fact he was on a plane heading to Dallas when the Leafs eventually pulled their pants down, since they hadn't signed shit and they were a little perturbed at the media/fan reaction. Instead they overpaid his ass, and Domi was suddenly in love with the Leafs again.

Good to see some things never change. :lol

:lol That was one of the coolest sports highlights I've ever seen. A couple years ago Falcone wanted to do a PPV rematch with Domi, with the money going to charity :lol...stupid fuck.

I was also one of the guys who was on Domi's side when he gave Ulf that sucker shot. If it had been any player, I probably would've condemned it. But Ulf was one of the dirtiest cunts I've ever seen...if you ask me he got off lucky.

Heh, don't get me started...

BTW, which jerseys are you guys planning to buy over the course of the season? I gotta think Crosby's jersey will be one of the hottest sellers, along with Pronger's Oiler jersey. Personally I'm looking to get a throwback Wendel Clark, a throwback Blackhawks Jeremy Roenick, and a Team Canada Jerome Iginila (either red or white, haven't decided which colour yet). The Leafs shouldn't even get a dime of my money, but I'm a total mark for Wendel Clark (yep, that rhymed).

BTW, they'd better sort out that IHHF squabble...no Olympic hockey would be a real downer.

Speaking of Clark, never gonna forget that game in St. Louis when he knocked the crap out of Bruce Bell behind the Blues net with a devastating open ice hit.

If things keep up, I'm gonna get an Oilers Lowe jersey.
I've always wanted a Linden jersey too - but it wouldn't fly over in Edmonton...

That hit was just ridiculous...looked like Bell ran into a freight train.

:lol I could see that becoming a trend.

I sure hope so. I read that Nashville was offering 3 mill.....but if he doesn't take a major discount to play here (we all know how much he wants to) I'd be pretty pissed. What site are these latest rumblings from?

From a diehard Leaf fan buddy of mine but he also does a lot of weed so take it with a grain of salt. :lol Claims he got it from some "insider" board.

lol

Stormin' Norman Roumak said he'll put his money on Allison coming to TO

Some guy whose name I can't spell that is a Wings exec says when he talked to Allison when he was still in Jr he said how much of a Leafs fan he is and how much he wanted to play in TO

He better fucking become a Leaf

Latest Eklund

I just got in, bit a quick scans shows these rumors from verified sources,.....

Tomi signs with Toronto...
Rumors..
Kariya to Edmonton
Selanne to St Louis
Belfour look to be getting shopped
Detroit, Buffalo, and Chicago are in the Khabilbulin deal
Hamrlik to Carolina

Trade Belfour? If they do that I'm gonna snap, why the hell didnt they buy him out if they were gonna shop him

Shinobi said:

I already mentioned the three that I bought, though (wife willing) I would like to buy a Nordique Sundin jersey as well as a Swedish Sundin jersey.

Fifty said:
Everything I've read points toward us signing Cujo if Belfour is moved. I think that makes the most sense.

One of my staff told me that he told Cujo to come back to TO when he met him at Wonderland today lol

The plot thickens! haha

Trading Belfour (as if any team is out there desperate for an injury prone 40 year old goalie making as much as Brodeur or Forsberg) would be a career ending move for Ferguson. Think of how bad it would look - after he signed Belfour for no real reason to an extension no one else would have ever offered him if JFJ gave him away now and the Leafs tanked this year it'd probably cost him his job.
