Official Phil Harrison Keynote @ GDC Thread.

Imagine what LocoRoco for the PS3 will be like.
I've only played through the first three levels of LocoRoco, but it would be cool to use the 6XS tilt control and expand the LocoRocoo world to 3D. Then it would be like Marble Madness with really cool terrain. PEACE.

My mechanics class ends half an hr before the keynotes... but it takes me an hr and a half to reach home (subway FTW). Lets hope i dont miss anything within that hr, cause i love NeoGAF and the responses :)

C'mon, this is exactly the kind of situation that consumer technology is made for. Unless you're on the Yonge line (which is underground) you should be able to browse on a cell phone.... ... for like $5 a minute, but still. Phil waits for no one, especially those that go to class.

I know, but it is not helping the PS3 selling in the world. What I mean is that Sony with this conference must not make fans happy and nothing more. They have to demonstrate that they are not in decline and that they still can react. And they can do that with some big annoncements that have big conseguences on PS3's sales. Re-read: SALES, because that's the problem of the PS3 (overall in Japan).

Big exclusive games are important. Then, they have to show that Blu-Ray is a vector for the machine (because now, the general impression is that High definition is not ready); Sony has to show this impression is wrong !
Then, Sony has to show something new, but not copying Nintendo.
They have to show the OnLine too, but not as Microsoft has made.

Shortly, Sony has to show that they are really following their path and overlal that they have faith in that path: the have to convince the developers that PS3 CAN really become the leader.

I expect a lot of force in Phil's words and not only stupid thing to make fans happy.

You wont be disappointed...

This is a developer's conference. Announcements are catered to devs, not the general public. The announcement of Home at GDC has everything to do with garnering dev support. Just b/c the fanatics on gaming forums tune into GDC doesn't mean it's the right venue for major unveilings. PEACE.

You clearly haven't played fl0w yet.
SIXAXIS is fantastic... and I can't wait to see what talented designers (i.e. folks at Konami, Square, Capcom, Team ICO) do with it.

Ignore him:)

Trust me. This matters to devs as much as to the PS3 owners.

But like previous GDCs, lots of expectations are put on certain unveilings being made that are simply ridiculous in the context of a conference for game devs. I'm just pointing out that addressing issues that could improve sales isn't the top priority at GDC. The top priority is giving devs and idea of the direction of the platform, as well as motivating them to produce PS3 titles. Home is being announced here b/c it is pertinent to the future of the platform and requires dev support. That's all I'm saying. PEACE.

I Know that Sony will not dissapoint us... but one thing that I dont like from this Threads is when the conference ends and No Megaton Bomb was launched... or something that we really want

The trick isn't gonna be getting caught ,but having something to tell him when it's all said and done.

I'm pretty sure "sony announced home!" isn't gonna make him value your current position in the company.

Oh man you should've used the words "Synergy" and "Integration" more often :lol

He'll talk about Warhawk, PSHome, PS3 SDK stuff, maybe Killzone, and something else. I can already sense the disappointment.

The only way im getting caught is if I cant control the desire to relieve some of this stress by watching two chicks get double teamed by a guy dressed up like Hobbes and forgetting that even though im wearing headphones its my speakers that are plugged in.

Is there even a situation here, realistic or not, that would lead to people not being disappointed?
