With the clearances not going where you want..thats deliberate, its because the opponent is putting pressure on the defender, some players are better than others at still getting the ball upfield and not just knocking it straight out of play.

I imagine all of the things where things dont happen exactly as you command are stat related (Ive witnessed many of the problems you mentioned).

Yeah, it's not something that's made me throw my controller at the wall, because it feels realistic in the flow of the game. But some of the stuff like players not running on through balls or stopping their runs for no reason is incredibly annoying.

Some offside calls can be missed as well...I scored one goal when Henry was two feet offside as Reyes made his through ball. I laughed out loud when I saw the replay.

Speaking of replays, has Konami finally figured out that 5 second replays simply don't cut it?

I like how you can score a goal and have it ruled for offside with a late flag from the linesman. The first time that happened I was playing online and someone scored then mid-celebration they show the linesman.

Also did I imagine that I once saw a screen where players get head wounds but play on bandaged? Aka, Alan Shearer.

Yeah this game is excellent. S, So, difficult that i imagine those new to the game will not score for a few months, and i'm not kidding. The nature of the game has changed completely, and i reckon it's for the good. I was smashing teams on level 6 before and knowing i was going to win before matches started.

That formula for winning has been shredded in this version. Goals are unpredictable and rely more on whether you take your chances and hold onto the ball till there is space. I say hold onto the ball but that's a tough task in it's self. The cpu will chase you down, sometimes in pairs and go on the break.

The cpu also uses a lot of through balls to break open your defence this time around, which provides heart-pounding moments late on in the games your wining by a single goal.

There are so many different variations of crosses and long balls that i haven't got my head around them yet, but i've still pulled off some incredible goals.

Konami really needs to yank the FIFA licence off of EA or at least share it with them for next gen because their games do so much more to further the sport in the videogame world. eg. some of the animations are incredible in this game!

I found WE8 pretty hard after moving away from WE7, though I think I only played five star level in 7. The harder WE9 is, the better...if that means I'm stuck at playing level four for six months, that's fine with me. I had to change my tatics for Arsenal just to ensure the games would be more competitive.

I got this game a week ago and I wasn't sure If I'd like it. ( WE8 was great but lacked a certain soemthing to make me a hardcore fan) I had gotten Fifa06 when it came out but was already pretty frustrated with it by the time I got Pes5.

Anyway after about five hours of straight playing I was completely and utterly hooked. I had some friends over the other night who wanted to play Fifa and after a week of playing Pes it was damn near impossible for me to play it.

Also the editor is fantastic! I made a pretty good replica of the Man U kit and decided to do the rest of the league and found it quite easy. I'll post some pics in a sec...

Does anyone else find it really easy to score outside the box now. I bought Hleb on master leageu and any chance I have with him just seems to fly into the net. Im beginning to scpore more goals outside the box than inside.
