WWE Signs Big Vito

World Wrestling Entertainment has signed former WCW Hardcore champion Big Vito to a deal and he'll be debuting this Monday at the Smackdown house show in Portland, Maine. The belief is that Vito will be put with Nunzio as a tag team.

Vito, who worked enhancement for WWF when he was first breaking in under his original ring name Skull Von Krush, had a brief run in Extreme Championship Wrestling as one of the Baldies. He was brought into WCW as one of the Mamalukes by longtime friend Vince Russo. He also had a brief run in TNA, feuding with Irish Pat Kenney.

Vito, a Staten Island, New York native, was originally trained by Johnny Rodz.

15 releases all to hire Vito :lol

How? You took your sorry ass to go fail at football, and Vince hurt your feelings?

I hope someone stretches him out.

Thats what happens when you take random people and the belt on them too fast.

Smells faintly of rancid stilton.
Hmm I think the nipple slip was planned since the whole thing can been seen uncut on wwe.com...just the nipple slip part, not the whole diva segment

From www.spikedudley.net:

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!

And in more ways than one. First, yes I'm gone from the WWE. Does it sting? Hell, yeah. Especially since I've always been one of their "model" employees. It makes sense that I was released, I don't bitch, moan, groan or suck. I just didn't fit in with what the WWE puts on tv. No, I'm only kidding(but not really). It was my turn and that's the nature of the beast. The WWE is a sinking ship. Cursed by owning 100% of the industry, I can see how they couldn't afford my outrageous salary in these times of number crunching. Hey, they gave me a great oppurtunity and maybe I didn't make the most of it. That's life. At first I was pissed, but I woke up this morning feeling, I don't know, alive. Check this out, this morning I woke up and visioned having a wrestling match without a script. I visioned going to an arena and actually having fun again. I visioned not having to go to the hospital after being hurt by a "future" WWE superstar who may look good but have the wrestling ability of a dead walrus. I visioned pitching an angle without having to get approval from writers who 6 years ago were buying ECW tickets and making signs(it's true). Hell, I visioned blading!!! I really don't want to burn bridges(if I haven't already) and all that, but that company sucks the life out of you and then spits you out. Enough on them.

I want to love wreslting again. I want to be passionate about the business. It's been so good to me, I want to give back. I don't know how yet, but it will happen.

Right now, I'm going to chill. I've got some time to sit back and re-evaluate life, smell some roses and get my head straight. I doubt you've seen the last of me. And if anything it's a blessing. Nothing sucks worse than working for a company that doesn't respect you. Paul E.(God bless him) proved that to me. Now I don't have to worry about it.

Majik, you f'n rock. Big boost this morning, thank you. I"ll be in touch.

Everyone in Dudlyeville, you all are the best. My many thanks to everyone for the support and love you've shown. Now that I'm on my own I will be back more often, so it's fun time.
I can't name everyone but you know who you are. Keep the faith, and if anyone is hiring get in touch.

Thanks guys,

Spike "no more tears" Dudley

also:

-- The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray & D'Von) were released because their contracts are up next month and they couldn't agree money terms with WWE. The Dudleys are said to be looking at TNA and Japan as future options.

-- Marty Jannetty was released because of a domestic incident that occurred with his partner. He was subsequently jailed.

-- Dawn Marie had her contract bought out due to her pregnancy.

Shame about Joy Giovanni. She was my favorite bit of eye-candy among the new divas. Matt Morgan had potential but I knew he was doomed as soon as he got stuck with the stuttering gimmick. But why on earth is Heidenreich still on the payroll? He's worthless.

Partner? Is Jannetty playing on the other side of the fence?

Charlie Haas from his official site:

Charlie and Jackie would like to thank all of the fans who have supported them over the years. Even though they are no longer wrestling with WWE any longer they will still be very involved with wrestling, whether it be overseas, ROH or independents. Be sure you keep checking JackieGayda.com and HaasOfPain.com for more information on where they will be wrestling next.

He mentions ROH directly YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...anyone else think that WWE is going to edit out the part where Hassan's "followers" attack Taker and carry out Davari like a martyr? These London attacks will be too fresh in people's minds for that kind of shit to be run...

WWE fans dont even know where London is. They'll just think someone tried to blow up Paul. Which I wouldnt put past Vince. "A talented little...?" Get him!!!!!!

Apparently Eugene was listed for a few muinutes as one of the cuts then quickly taken down.

Of course not. It's even better for business. Now all the anti-terrorist people will be behind Taker even more just watch him job at GAB. Besides, Hassan is American and they'll still chant USA.

Matt Morgan talks to WWE.com about his release
July 7, 2005

By David Agostino

It was less than two months ago that Matt Morgan was at Judgment Day, helping Carlito defeat Big Show. Morgan was one of the more athletic and imposing Superstars on the SmackDown! roster. And at 6-foot-10 and just 28-years-old, Morgan figured to have a bright future with WWE.

And while he still might, that future became slightly more clouded when Morgan was one many Superstars let go by the company earlier this week.

In fact, after Morgan saw the first list of cuts on Tuesday, he took a deep breath, only to get the bad news one day later.

“I saw the first list of guys let go and my heart just went out to them,” Morgan said in an exclusive WWE.com interview. “Still, you’re happy it’s not you. Then the second day you get the call.”

Morgan had become a semi-regular on SmackDown!, even appearing on the July 7 show. Considering how much he was on TV of late, Morgan was stunned by his release.

“It was kind of shocked,” Morgan said. “I thought I was doing everything they asked of me. I’m still so new to the sport and I have such an upside. I’m still going to get to where I have to go, I’m just going to have to take a different avenue.”

Currently, Morgan, who was part of Tough Enough 2, said he’s looking over a pair of offers he’s received for small movie roles. But, above everything else, he’s committed to returning to wrestling.

“Wrestling is still my top priority,” Morgan said. “I will look at my options, whether that means wrestling in Japan, Germany, anywhere overseas. Sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward. I want to get the opportunity to come back and show everyone the real Matt Morgan. The guy who’s the most athletic and promising big man in the sport.”

Still, Morgan had a blast over the last couple months, and he’s still confident a return will be in the works one day.

“It was awesome, I had the time of my life,” Morgan said. “I want to thank all of the McMahons, Jim Ross, John Laurinaitis and Fit Finlay for giving me the opportunity. I will see them again. I learned about having fun and not being wound so tight. It didn’t work out this time, but I’m willing to accept it and grow from it. I’m just 28, I’m only going to get better.”

Ummmmm huh?

Could it be a setup????

I called a possible storyline yesterday :)

Maybe Matt Hardy will lead them all with Paul H and Tommy D to reform a "ECW" product....

(I am dreamin')

EDIT: WWE.com does sem to be very vocal about the recent releases with Kenzo, Joy, The Dudleys, Jackie and Hass all pictured on the main page. I also just noticed they have added a "released respond" section where Jackie Gayda, Charlie Haas, Matt Morgan & Billy Kidman speek out about been cut. (Why premote someone you just let go.....)

Something screams work.....

In the past they just posted a VERY short blub when a release happened. They didn't do INTERVIEWS with them after they've told them to hit the bricks. That would just be kind of like rubbing salt in wounds, don't ya think?

I actually think its ok that the WWE terrorist characters like Hassan. I mean, if shows like 24 and countless movies can exploit the post 9/11 era for big bucks, why can't WWE?

And the releases are not a work. WWE just sees how powerful the internet can be, so they are finally making thier website worth reading. This is why WWE.com was the first to break Brock Lesnars return and not pwinsider or 1wrestling. In the future, I wouldnt be suprised to see WWE.com's news section reveal many upcoming newsbits before the wrestling media gets the chance to.

Man, you're telling me I could be watching a promotion that features Kenzo Suzuki, Matt Morgan, Mark Jindrak, Gangrel and Joy Giovanni? I'M THERE.

Yeah, well you got to start somewhere. For example you may become a valuable addition to this forum in a few months time but I very much doubt it.

In honor of Lesnar making his return I broke out Smackdown: HCTP and am using to mow through people left and right.

Can't wait to see the vanilla gorilla on SD again. I like his stiff and extremly powerful style. Say what you will, but the guy is freakishly strong and agile for his size.

He's one of my favorites of all time, and I've watched every brand of wrestling for many years. I can forgive him for what he did, we all make mistakes. I cant wait to see him vs. Batista!!

WWE (actually, it was probably UPN) ran a disclaimer when Daivari was making his entrance, that said "In light of the recent events that happened today in London, viewer discretion is advised when watching tonight's episode" or something to that effect.

Yeah, it's already confirmed that he entire segment will be edited out. I'm they'll show the 20 second squash of Daivari and then just move on to the next segment.

No, last week on SmackDown! that same sign was there. And it's back again.

Speaking of Val Venis, I'm surprised he's not released yet. Or Tyson Tomko. At least the Hurricane is holding on to a tag team title--so he should be safe. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Rosey go.
