Just so you don't think I'm full of it, I'm going to be making yet another CC trip tomorrow and I've already taken down a list of stuff other people are looking for, which I'll either trade them (for other $5 games) or sell them at cost + shipping. I know a few people were looking for MGS Substance for PS2, and I know my closest CC had that as recently as this evening, so hopefully a few will be left.

Be selfless - the favor will ultimately be returned! I had a mental list of about 10 people who I was looking for games for at CC today and yesterday, several of whom I bought some for, who didn't even have to ask me to. I just knew that they want certain specific games that I could easily pick up for pocket change, and I knew that in similar situations they'd do the same for me. It's a nice feeling!

Making a few quick bucks is cool, but making lasting relationships will benefit you for months or years to come. :D

again, ask fart whether he would rather have the game for $27 shipped or not have it at all. sadly not all of us are rich. sadly, some of us have actual bills to pay and dont live with our parents anymore. sadly some of us live in the real world. your thoughts are nice: helping everybody out, doing things for others, etc. and the like. and i have helped people out on these forums before (beach spikers for $10, counterstrike for $10, etc) but the bottom line is i didn't even want to sell disgaea. i was in process of trading games straight up from the CC deal, but the person couldn't find the other game i wanted (which was MvsC2 on xbox) so it fell through. lambtron offered me $20. yes, that's right, he OFFERED ME. i didn't create the offer. fart said he would go above lambtron, i threw out $30, he countered with $27. done deal. what's the problem?

No headset Slo...I was thinking more of $25 shipped,its in perfect condition so no worries there,and I've got the setup CD too.
 
Obviously, I'm a lot more perterbed by the guys who are like "Heh, got 10 Disgaeas, u want one, check ebay lol" than FMT selling a copy to fart for $27. I just wish I would've gotten a comment on my offer, but whatever- no hard feelings, I'll get the game eventually.

Living in a fairly small town, without a lot of these places (Fry's, CC, etc) that many of these deals are is just killer. I lucked out and was in a town with a CC at their last clearance sale, and got a few things, but 99% of the time I get nothin'. I think that all Bobby is pretty much saying is that it's cool if we help each other out-- which there seems to be a lot of, and that's good. Whenever it was that Best Buy had Rez for $20, I could've walked out with all 6 they had under my arm, but I bought one for myself, and one for Bobby. I got La Pucelle for myself and a friend recently at Target-- I left the rest there. I'm all about deals, a good 50% of the games I've purchased recently have been as a result of them, but I'm also about sharing the wealth. When I come across deals I do my best to help out people who I know want/need the stuff, and leave some for others. So when I see stuff like "HEH I GOT 20 OF _______________, EBAY HERE I COME!!" (which there hasn't been a lot of at all with this deal, here at least), it sort of sucks for those of us who are unable to participate.

Meh, whatever. I'm just rambling I guess.
 
Agreed, I don't really like these people who buy multiple copies just for the sake of making a quick buck. Sure it's tempting but it just doesn't seem right. Luckily Saurus and B'z-chan secured an extra copy for a couple games that I wanted with no intention of inducing me to pay a fortune for the games, so they both rock in my book. I hope there's other people on these forums that aren't just trading/selling to benefit only themselves

FMT, I know you may think Bobby is being a bit ridiculous here, but the point is that forum-goers have a long memory and a long history of helping each other out. You sell a game to someone now on the cheap, and 6 months from now, when they're in a used game store and see something they know you wanted for $7.50, they get it and hook you up. You're getting short term financial gain on eBay, but you're cutting yourself off from anyone on the forum ever doing you a favor in the future. Which might not seem like a big deal now, but in my experience it's QUITE helpful in the long run to be polite/helpful to people. Good karma results in good game deals.

EDIT: To clarify, I don't see it as bad that you're selling the game to fart for $27, since he offered that and it's still well below MSRP. I'm talking more about blatant eBaying and then bragging about how much you're gonna rake in on the GAF.

only i HAVE helped GAFers out before and i would do it again.

if someone PM's me and says "hey dude, can you go check best buy for me there is a game there that's $9.99 and i can't find it". i would go to best buy, get it for them and sell it to them for what i paid no problem. but when i get "lucky", and stumble upon a game, then wtf?

i understand what you dudes are saying. and by all means, if i run across extra copies of whatever next weekend i will pick them up for whoever and hook them up. but i heard about this deal on cheapassgamer, i printed out a list from cheapassgamer, and then after i got the games i see here on GA people are getting in on it or whatever and that's cool. i promise you guys, if i go to my CC next week and find disgeaea i will buy the copies and gladly hook you guys up.

i agree with you we should help each other out, and i've given pretty decent deals to people on resident evil CV, megaman X7 and dynasty warriors 4. but in the case of disgaea, and it's a rare case, i have to make some money back. buying videogames is an addictive and costly hobby, and if i have a chance to make some money (which i will use to buy more games!) then i have to do it. am i being greedy selling it for $27 to a GA member? to an extent sure. but i could have done a lot worse, and i guarantee i would willingly help anyone out on this board hooking them up w/ cheap games.

You guys that are PMing me, go ahead and make an offer. I think two of you wanted ToeJam and Earl III and three of you wanted Disgaea.

I don't really know what would be a "fair" price, much less choose between 2-3 people who are willing to pay the same price. Can someone give me a ballpark figure?

Disgaea is off the market at the moment. If you three that PMed me about it could wait until Saturday, that'd be great. A friend of mine expressed some interest but I won't know until Saturday if he's going to buy it or not.

Go ahead and PM offers for it but just note that it's not a "for sure" thing until after Saturday. If you find someone else with Disgaea before then, go with them first.
