They were also having people lose connection every 5-10 minutes and reportedly having pretty bad input lag. Could just be busy PSN at the moment, could have been someone's connection.

Hard to say without knowing their connection, but they were livestreaming at the same time.

Has anyone tried to SharePlay something like Crunchyroll or Netflix? Be interested to see if you could watch episodes of a show with a friend who does not subscribe to the service.

I'm guest-playing TLoU:R right now and holy fuck, this is amazing. Too bad you can't take a screenshot as a guest because what I'm seeing is better than I expected.

Also, the input lag feels lower than Vita. Aiming doesn't feel sluggish at all.

I'm going to abuse this feature so much. xD

On my PS4 I get 11 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload (compared to my PC's LAN speeds of 125 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload. That's over WIFI as I have no other option in my living room.

The person I was connecting to said his connection was fine, I don't think any small bugs that occurred were due to my internet.

That will never happen due to obvious reasons. You can only access games via shareplay

yeah that was me , it worked really good didnt have too much input lag and not very often (atleast not noticeable for me), i was just playing badly because i had not played fifa 15 yet.

You probably expect this to become fairly common. Especially if/when people get games like GTAV and Bloodborne early.

SharePlay has nothing to do with PSN

It is a peer to peer connection between the 2 consoles so it is entirely dependent upon the connection of the Host and your own speeds.
It is incredible to have streamers doing invites to have others come in and play. Totally awesome.

But they are already streaming and using that bandwidth + inviting people into their PS4 and then streaming to that person. So that is a good clip of bandwidth being used up.

I don't think the share button even does anything in the media apps. You can't take screenshots in Netflix for example.

I've taken screenshots from Crunchyroll before. Though I've never tried to do something like stream the app. That may be disabled and SharePlay may only work with apps that can be streamed (and those that don't use the camera).

It was just a thought....

Even if you don't like share playing, 1:1 spectator mode is awesome. Trying to help someone over Twitch's lag can be such a pain.

In theory it should be depending on the connection speed of the host and guest since this is a Peer to Peer service and it's not reliant on PSN.

Couldn't Sony enable Shareplay for Vita/TV?.

This seems to be using the same streaming tech that Remote Play uses, so I think it's possible...
