Uploading the video to YouTube a few days ago, this add-on, which is being created by fans, uses the Fallout: New Vegas engine and, as the name suggests, implements a Mexican-style aesthetic to the game, which is set in the Land of Enchantment. The trailer begins with a Goodfellas-style voice-over, which plays as images of an idyllic neighborhood are shown, right before the infamous atomic explosion that sets the stories of the universe into motion. The mod includes a new story, as well as the ability to join three factions, employ companions, and take part in new activities.

While it has the visuals of the more recent Fallout games, it seems the team is interested in going back to the classics in the series. The YouTube description says that Nuevo Mexico will put a lot more focus on the role-playing elements that made the likes of Fallout 1 such a cult hit, beloved by many PC gamers back in the late 1990s. Sadly, there is no release date yet, but no doubt many fans watching the trailer will be excited about playing the mod, especially those who favor the stronger RPG aspects of the original games, before Bethesda took over the franchise.

Always amazed at seeing what these modders can do.
Hope they're able to actually release this.

Mexico City is the largest city in North America and serves as the biggest hub in Fallout: Nuevo México. While still largely under development, we are thrilled to finally reveal this iconic wasteland. Once the vibrant heart of a massive metropolis, Mexico City now lies in ruin, a battleground for factions struggling for dominance and survival. From the decaying colonia of Chapultepec to the submerged canals of Xochimilco, the city is a haunting blend of beauty and brutality.

This project is completely free and not associated with Bethesda. It is a fan-made creation driven purely by passion and creative work, with zero funding involved. A dedicated effort to share a unique vision of a post-apocalyptic world in México.

The following content has been created with the intention of representing a dark, fictional reality inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout. It does not seek to glorify or idolize acts of violence committed by criminal groups but rather to highlight the dangers of a devastated world.
