Guys, we really need to get more people involved in this. Please beg your friends to post on the facebook site so we can keep this action going. Instead of one person making 4-5 posts repeating themselves, its alot more productive to get other people to write something. If your friends say they dont have a facebook account, ask them to make one. Also, if you can get the FB link on any other game related sites to push this cause, please do!

According to VFDC Sega is supposed to give an answer tomorrow.

edit: Well VFDC forums, I haven't looked up the sources yet.
 
I think the disc sells for like 15 dollars now. Maybe the fighting resurgence has something to do with it, I'm sure Tekken 6 is going to be huge in the fall and it would be the only 3D fighter in town...

I'm talking as if they're going to release 5R over here and not announce VF Quest 2 for DS or something.

A full download like Burnout Paradise would be awesome.

Besides I don't know anyone requesting VF3R, I never even heard of a R version of virtua fighter 3. :P

No offense, and I'm not trying to down VF or anything... but what happens when they do release VF5r and it doesn't sell? :lol

I'd rather see Tekken vs. VF (two versions, one for each fan base) or VF6 over VF5r. I just look at the sales of VF5 ver B and ver C and I can't see VF5r selling well on consoles.

As a huge shenmue fan, I have come to terms with the idea that it's never coming. I am ok with that.

Virtua Fighter though, it's a staple as important to fighting games nearly as much as street fighter, it needs to come out :)
 
Excellent news, I just really hope it isn't a PS3 exclusive. Although I couldn't really fault Sega if they came to that decision, I just wouldn't be able to play it. :(

Why would it be? Didn't VF5 sell comparably on both consoles?
 
VF5R 360/PS3 with cross-platform online would be awesome.

360 twinsticks for VOOT is even more awesome!

My wallet being -300$ is slightly less awesome.

Well the biggest fanbase for VF5 is undoubtedly Japan, where no one gives a shit about 360. It would make sense for them to just release it on PS3 to cut costs. Didn't they just make an NA 360 release for 5? I dunno, I'm just getting anxious about a game that isn't even confirmed yet.

No, it came out in Japan too (eventually), and the PS3 version didn't exactly light the world on fire there (WAIT FOR VF5! :lol ).

If this happens, it's almost assuredly multiplat.

Nobody in Japan gives a shit about fighting games on a console, period.

There's 0 reason for this (if it happens) to not be multiplatform, since they've got the game up and running on both. I just hope they can do something to make the game relatively successful on consoles. It is the year of the fighter after all.

it's one facet. being a Sega fan also requires you to:

1) play an anticipated Sega game, only to find it doesn't meet even your lowest expectations
2) enjoy a Sega game, look forward to a sequel, then count the years that pass without a sequel
3) wax poetic about a Sega game that's at least seven years old, regardless of its critical reception at launch
4) defend yourself, both on the Internet and to real-life friends, concerning why you like Sega games (certain ones or generally)
5) read UK Resistance's Web site and nod knowingly, laugh and cry — sometimes all at once
6) play at least one Sonic game

all you've experienced from this is "hope Sega ports an arcade game, only to have that hope crushed". you've gotta start somewhere, though — congrats on leveling up. =P


[edit] I guess I should add the one positive facet of being a Sega fan: you play some of the most fun games ever made.
 
Sega is flat out stupid. Console version is needed even if the arcade is the major area of revenues, yet Sega is too stupid to realize this. :/
