Wow Pulver's eye is jacked. DIdn't look that bad in the fight and I knew something was up at the end as he was grabbing it a lot but damn. Warrior is Jens, Jens is warrior.

Edit: Ouch, public miscarriage statement, did someone say awwkwaaaaard.

wow what a great event, so much better than the EliteXC that came on yesterday.

i was watching this event with my dad, we are filipinos, so when grigsby came out, i was like, dad you know he is fighting a filipino guy right (he thought munoz was mexican or something). my dad was like all damn... that black guy is 6'6, wataf. shit is not gonna be fair.

Munoz represented the Filipino flag, that shit got me hyped than a mother fucker (I am a proud ass filipino-american) Grigsby was getting Munoz for a bit, but Munoz finally took his tall ass down, then BAMMMM, Munoz just knocked the fuck out of Grigsby, lol, made my day, and i think my dad just officially became a fan of MMA.

p.s. whats up with that hot ass female officer, she is too damn sexy

I thought Mir did a good job commentating, actually.
He did better than he's done in part events imo. He seemed to have a personality in this one. He's always come off as a meathead-turned-announcer before. But tonight he kept me interested in that first fight when it looked like things would be unwatchable.

Anyway, great night of fights, as I expected. Torres is so fun to watch. Two amazing fights in a row for him. His win to get the belt was something special too. His next fight should be more controlled. This is his first title defense. There were probably some nerves involved.

Faber is amazing. I didn't think his standup would be this good. I've seen him do some crisp striking before, but it was never an extended engagement. He took as well as gave, and he stayed active. Looked like his really punched himself out in the second round and almost lost it there. I've never seen him tire before. But he got it back together and finished strong. His conditioning is still top notch. Kudos to Jens too. Not only did he show his strong chin, but also his conditioning. He fought like a warrior. I agree with him. Let him go beat someone up in an event or two before throwing him back to Faber. Urijah is unbeatable. PEACE.

Man I bet this shit slayed the WWE tonight.

I wish you hadn't fucked up the OP or I'd have been watching an hour ago, but regardless, interesting first fight. That's a tough crowd.

How did I fuck up the OP?

OT Great last 3 fights tonight, Torres is probably the number 1 BW, though the division is probably one of the weakest in the world of MMA right now.

Pulver should've went in for the kill, we found out tonight that Faber cannot take a punch, every time Lil Evil hit him, he would hurt him. Congrats to Urijah on a great gameplan though.

Faber = 145

I don't see anyone beating him anytime soon.

I, reaaaally, want to see Faber Vs. Kid. I asked Faber about it once, and he seems to want the fight as bad as everyone else.

You need deep pockets for Kid, though.

What did everyone think of the event?

It started off to a slow start but really picked up steam as it went on then took us for a roller coaster ride.

9/10 from me!

5 fights shown, 2 really exciting fights and only 1 bad fight, I'd say 9/10 as well, way better than Elite, that's for sure.

8.0/10

Not to take anything away from those last 2 fights, but the entire card wasn't great. A snoozer, some solid stuff, a lack of action early on. But those last 2 matches, wow.

8.5/10

Maeda/Torres is definitely fight of the year candidate. Pulver/Faber was really entertaining too. So good to see fighters displaying well rounded mma skills and not gassing after the first round. Glad the WEC came on after EXC (which I thought was good for casuals but I may be wrong). Hopefully the new fans who enjoyed EXC saw how much more exciting and technical mma can be.

The Torres fight was really a huge showcase for the sport. I had seen some MMA fights here and there in the past (before the Kimbo fight last night), but this fight was the first one where I actually thought there was some insane talent in the ring.

All of the transitions between submissions and guards and locks and striking were incredible. I could never tell who was better off in any situation due to how spontaneous these guys were.

Amazing skill amongst those two.

The Faber/Pulver fight was interesting in it's own way, but paled in comparison to the Torres fight. Faber seemed like the dominant force the entire fight, and Pulver was just a punching bag that hit back every now and then. It looked like Pulver could deliver some solid punches, but he never really showed his stuff.

I'll be tuning into these events whenever I can...now if only there was a schedule or something I could follow for these things...

I agree. I hope we get a rematch. That was a great match. I was watching it with someone who had never seen a MMA match and she was on the edge of her seat.

Pulver/Faber came off as more of a test for Faber than anything else. Pulver was doing a good job of getting punched and seemed to have no answer for Faber. Very surprising that Pulver wasn't more aggressive. But I thought it was a good fight.

Actually, outside of the first fight on the card, it was a good show. A very good show.

I got everything I wanted out of this card. Two great title fights and I got to see Cowboy make another fool pay for taking him down. Fighting hm is alot like fighting Torres. You have to pick your poison. Do you want to get beat up or choked out?

I'm glad you enjoyed the event. We got a new mma fan! :D
