No one expected us to go up there and win, we were 9 point dogs but we choked that game away? gimme a break.

I posted in last week's thread that defensive gameplan and execution were excellent. I also noted how there is a split between that national media and the local media on the Texans.

I figured the Texans needed to go 2-1 over the Indy-TEN-Indy stretch to make the playoffs. They still can do that. I've never said Kubiak should be fired, b/c it makes no sense to change coaches mid-season. I've said he should be fired if they miss the playoffs.

What's the point spread have to do with them failing, again, at the end of games? You are essentially arguing the case for a moral victory. It's been so long since I've seen a playoff contending team in Houston, but aren't there supposed to be no moral victories?

Do you really think the chokes in the AZ, Jax, and Indy games are not major red flags?

INCREDIBLE OP @ The rest of the thread - :BOW :BOW :BOW

CHI @ SF

DET @ MIN
ATL @ CAR - Upset (sort of)! Carolina continues to run the ball, NFC South at home
DEN @ WAS
CIN @ PIT
TB @ MIA
JAC @ NYJ
NO @ STL
BUF @ TEN
KC @ OAK - Maybe they could flex this game to 7pm.. Thoughts?
DAL @ GB - Upset
SEA @ ARI
PHI @ SD
NE @ IND - Return of the Jedi

BAL
@ CLE - Will anyone watch this game?

The Dolphin win streak starts right here! Man, so many games Miami has been in it or leading near the end and things just fall apart. If we can get a reliable #1 receiver and if Henne and those young DBs continue to mature, we're not very far off from taking over this conference. If Miami can keep the core together, I'd say in 2-3 seasons we should be a beast.

Screw New England and their cheating ways.

Last Week: 8-5 for a 2nd week in a row.
Overal: 79-50 meh

CHI @ SF - Fuck the Bears and their inconsistent ways.

DET @ MIN - An extra bye week, how nice.

ATL @ CAR - Carolina has improved a bit over the last few weeks, but screw them for blowing that Saints game.

DEN @ WAS - The Redskins, the league's bounce back team.

CIN @ PIT - GOTW? Clash of AFCN titans. I'm going with the Champs, but I still think the Bengals are for real.

TB @ MIA - Freeman made a great debut, but I think Miami can pull it out in this battle of Florida.

JAC @ NYJ - Jags are inconsistent, Jets are a better team imo. They'll get this.

NO @ STL - Another team with an extra bye this week.

BUF @ TEN Vince Young just wins, blah blah blah...

KC @ OAK - Normally a great rivalry, but these two teams stink. Going with the Chiefs, just because... I don't know why.

DAL @ GB - Dallas is trending upwards, Greenbay has hit the pits. Seems like a trap game for Dallas, but I think they'll get it done.

SEA @ ARI Picking the Cards, but I wouldn't be surprised if they shit the bed here.

PHI @ SD - Purely a homer pick. =(

NE @ IND - Will not pick against Peyton until he loses.

BAL @ CLE - What a shitastic Monday nighter. Ravens easily bounce back with a win against the bottom-feeding Browns.

And the Texans DO get credit? I had no idea Texan fans were so defensive about their team. You all are playing well, just finish games and you'll get to the playoffs.

We need Gonzo back. Garcon is dropping 50% of passes thrown his way:
That doesn't mean he drops 50% of the passes thrown his way. It means 50% of the passes thrown his way have been caught. This includes inaccuracy by Manning, ints, PDs, balls caught out of bounds, and drops.

10-3 last week

CHI @ SF

DET @ MIN
ATL @ CAR
DEN @ WAS
CIN @ PIT Pit takes the game here and the lead
TB @ MIA
JAC @ NYJ
NO @ STL
BUF @ TEN
KC @ OAK What a horrible game, and likely is going to be the only game on tv :/
DAL @ GB I can't pick GB, they lost to TB
SEA @ ARI
PHI @ SD I want SD to win, but my gut is saying we get blown out. Thankfully Reid doesn't like to run so we have a good chance. Hell, OAK beat them.
NE @ IND I can't decide here. I'll go with the undefeated.

BAL @ CLE I'm not sure if I'm going to bother watching this.

Right, but watching the games, he's had a clear decline from those first three, including a lot of dropped passes.

And I guess it's not even a LOT, it's just that they're crucial passes, easily catchable balls, that he is missing and/or dropping. He needs his confidence back.

CHI @ SF - Bears are a mediocre team.

DET @ MIN - The One-Sided season continues.
ATL @ CAR - Thomas Davis is a tough loss - one that Michael Turner doesn't mind.
DEN @ WAS - Washington is the perfect ailment for a 2 game slump.
CIN @ PIT - Both teams will stop the run, so it'll come down to the QBs. I still like Big Ben.
TB @ MIA - Tampon Bay returns to their sinking ways.
JAC @ NYJ - Don't trust the Sanchize.
NO @ STL - Hopefully we get a Kyle Boller sighting.
BUF @ TEN - Football Jesus continues to "just win." :lol
KC @ OAK - Holy shit this is going to be ugly.
DAL @ GB - Green Bay just is not very good right now. Reminds me of the GB of the earlier part of the decade when they got pushed around on D but managed to score.
SEA @ ARI - Arizona blows out teams at home.
PHI @ SD - Dependent on Westbrook being back.
NE @ IND - Tom Brady + Depleted Secondary = Ruh Roh. Still will be a close game, and I'll be rooting for Peyton all the way.

On Monday night in Nashville, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling held a special charity live event featuring the stars of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. $130,000 was raised for the Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee.

- Suicide got the win over Homicide and D'Angelo Dinero with Pro Bowl Titans CB Courtland Finnegan as special guest enforcer in our opening bout!

- With help from Kyle Vanden Bosch, Hernandez gets the win over Kip James!

- Tara beat Velvet Sky, with guest timekeeper Titans DE William Hayes

- Titans QB and special guest enforcer Vince Young clobbers Rhino with a trash can to help give Abyss the win in a Monster's Ball Match

- Bobby Lashley defeated Scott Steiner! Steiner was knocked silly after messing with Vanden Bosch, and then on the wrong end of a Lashley spear!

- Beer Money and former Titans pro Frank Wycheck defeated The World Elite in six man tag team action

- Main event time as AJ Styles now taking on Samoa Joe with 10 Titans including Jevon Kearse as the Lumberjacks! AJ Styles gets the win!

VINCE YOUNG JUST WINS GAMES

AND HITS PEOPLE OVER THE HEAD WITH TRASH CANS!

CHI @ SF- Chicago's pretty lousy, but SF is definitely worse.

DET @ MIN- Lions looking as bad as ever. Easiest pick, maybe of the year.

ATL @ CAR- Carolina has a great running game, top 5 for sure. Problem is they have virtually no air attack, shouldn't be much of a challenge for Atlanta here.

DEN @ WAS- I'll continue to repeat myself, but they were the worst 6-0 team ever. That being said Washington is pretty bad.

CIN @ PIT- Upset? Maybe. This will be a close game of defense here. This is the game for me where Cincinnati can prove themselves as contenders.

TB @ MIA- Miami is a better team than their record, and TB is actually worse than their record(poor GB fans). Should be an easy win.

JAC @ NYJ- Jets defense was scary at he beginning of the year. They haven't lost that, and they still have a good run game. Sanchez hasn't lived up to the initial hype, but the jags have been horribly inconsistent all year.

NO @ STL- The march to 16-0. Three teams to beat, just check the schedule.

BUF @ TEN- Vince Young future? Should be a close game.

KC @ OAK- Both teams are pretty awful, but honestly if you just keep the ball on the ground the Raiders have a good shot.

DAL @ GB- I don't know what to think about this. GB just lost to Tampa. Dallas has looked pretty good of late too so you'd think it would be an easy win. Definitely not the case.

SEA @ ARI- Home game and I'm picking the cards? Seattle's no good.

PHI @ SD- Big game for both teams here. I give the eagles the edge here. Rivers may have lead that drive, but it was against the crumbling giants secondary.

NE@ IND- Definitely the hardest game of the year for both teams. The colts have played one of the easiest schedules of all time to this point, and the pats haven't really faced that powerhouse offense. I give Brady the edge, he's looking sharper, and Moss looked well rested yesterday after the bye.

BAL @ CLE- Worst MNF game ever?

It's up there, but the football-starved HylianTom of April/May would happily watch.

I'm also wondering.. how many difficult games does Minnesota have left? Kinda wondering how much breathing room the Saints have for the home field advantage race.

Are drops an officially recorded stat now?

Lord, so long and disappointing the last two weeks have been for Jets fans. The taste of this 1-4 run has been so bitter after the 3-0 start, and with no football last week it;s just been awful.

There are three things broken with the Jets right now - special teams play (can't be giving up returns left and right), passing offense (receiving core has been injured and inconsistent), and the quarterback (Sanchez has looked like a rookie after looking like a boss the first three games). Hopefully they've been studying their video and sorting shit out. Can't win games where Sanchez is throwing 3+ picks. Can't win games where the Jets are giving up a jillion points on special teams and turning the ball over. Can't win games if we can't move the ball in the air.

Anyway, picks:

CHI @ SF

DET @ MIN
ATL @ CAR
DEN @ WAS
CIN @ PIT
TB @ MIA
JAC @ NYJ
NO @ STL
BUF @ TEN
KC @ OAK It's sad, because you can almost consider this game an upset special :lol
DAL @ GB
SEA @ ARI
PHI @ SD
NE @ IND

BAL @ CLE

Jets-Age, we are back to our regular Sunday business. This is where we get back on track, baby. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.

I'm not clear on this, it's quoted during broadcasts, and brought up in articles, but it's not a stat that's listed on nfl.com

CHI @ SF The 49ers are a shitty organization, they continue their losing streak for this game and the next. They'll finish 7-9.

DET @ MIN
ATL @ CAR
DEN @ WAS
CIN @ PIT Assuming Limas Sweed won't be going out for passes, the Steelers completely dismantle the Bengals. Who day? We day. Carbon copy of the Wildcard game a few years back, except Palmer won't leave on a cart, that's not to say that he doesn't get fucked up though.
TB @ MIA
JAC @ NYJ
NO @ STL
BUF @ TEN
KC @ OAK I can't decide so I'm going with a TIE
DAL @ GB
SEA @ ARI
PHI @ SD
NE @ IND I think both teams are a tad bit overrated but I still don't trusts the Colts defense to stop anyone. I'd much rather 2012 to come two years early and concentrate its destructive power at Pussified Football Stadium Lucas Oil Stadium though.

yea same. I think places like Stats inc record them for subjective things like "on target passes that are dropped"

Jesus, I said the colts are overrated on another board and got a ration on shit with things like they're undefeated and they have won 12 games how many years in a row?

I'd assume so, there's been a lot of stat tracking changes over the history... there's a reason why Deacon Jones doesn't have the single season sack record.

Joe Montana selling his NorCal house, in case anyone has a couple million to blow.

Montana is asking $49 million for the 500-acre property.

Besides a 9,700-square-foot main residence, the estate includes an equestrian center, basketball court, skeet shooting range, gym, pool and spa.

I'm guessing he's moving down to SoCal since that's where his kids are playing football?

it does.
Does it have to do with the fact that you like to cheer for the forces of evil?

I anticipate the Steelers destroying the Bengals this week.
I also feel a beatdown coming Cincy's way.

Henry is out for the Bengals so if they can't run the ball Palmer will have to force some throws if he wants to do more than dink and dunk.

Too many unbelievers picking the Pats.

I am disappointed in you GAF. I thought you were better than that.

SMH

It's understandable for them to have their doubts. Indy has looked very beatable here lately and have obviously had their problems with NE before. Hopefully they'll be made believers after the Dark Lord is vanquished this weekend.

GAF, Help me with this :lol

I have been playing this since the 90s (you play with less than a Dollar lol), i have never won above the $200-250US Mark, looks pretty easy (each week im pretty sure that im going to win) but its NOT

In the "Protouch Inicial" you have to pick up who scores a TD first (and the Quarter), then you have 13 games and have to select who wins by 7 or More Points, or if the game its a close one with no one winning with more than 6 points

Grand Prize (all 13 and Protouch incial) its around 120k US
Just the 13 games: 40k US
12 Games: 4k US
11 Games: 1k US
10 Games or Less : Price Varies

I miss when that guy used to update picks weekly in this thread. A shame he had to win it all last year and retire on top. I lost track of my own after week 5.

Man I just got an interesting trade offer:

Option 1
I get: DeSean Jackson, Steve Smith
I trade: SJax, Welker

Option 2
I get: DeSean Jackson, Miles Austin
I trade: Welker, SJax, Benjamin Watson

I've said it a bunch already but my RBs are Benson, Rice, Williams, and SJax. My receivers are Welker, Marshall, Boldin, and Crabtree. I also have Visanthe as my main TE (Watson was bye week pickup).

Now our playoffs start Week 14, and I'm #1 in rankings right now so I'm guaranteed to be in.

In Weeks 14-16 Philly plays Giants, SF, and Denver. Giants play Philly, Washington, and Carolina. Dallas plays San Diego, New Orleans, and Washington.

I'm not sure what to do, this trade sounds pretty good but like I said I'm only looking at the playoffs here. The receivers I'd be getting are pretty damn good right now, but if you look at the defenses they play during my playoffs, they're ranked up there.

Also, Boldin has a pretty soft schedule in weeks 14-16, same with Welker, Marshall, and Crabtree. So it might just be a gamble assuming Boldin and Crabtree start performing later in the year.

Would I be stupid for turning down this trade, assuming I only care about weeks 14-16? I can't decide if I'm focusing on the defenses too much during weeks 14-16, and only worry about how the guys are performing now.

C'mon Detroit.. give us an upset.

:(

We'd be much obliged to, but you can give us a 17 point lead to start the game and we'd still find a way to lose. T.J. Houzemanzadah summed it up pretty well I think:

"I don't care who you're playing, if you have Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, whoever at quarterback -- Troy Aikman -- you don't want to get down 17-0. We're just fortunate," said T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who caught a 2-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter to finally put Seattle ahead.

Yet he still thought his team was going to win.

"It could be that we were playing Detroit," Houshmandzadeh said.

Oh well three of our rookies, Brandon Pettigrew, Louis Delmas and Deandre Levy all played extremely well and I still like the way this team is headed. Stafford is playing on a bad knee and will be fine.

I actually expect a close game this week, so much so that I'll pick Detroit in GAF Pick Em.
