The problem with Lumines is not that it costs 1.200 pts, it is that the core package is complete stripped down. I bought the core + 2 packages (did not purchase the last one) but to tell the truth I do not play it very much. Now if both packages (advanced and mission) was included in the 1.200 price it would have sold a lot more. People did not complain about paying 1.200 pts, but complain to pay for an incomplete game.

Just got this in my email inbox:

Maybe, or maybe not. I remember seeing one of those awhile back that had Carcassonne in it and it didn't come out for another 2 months.

Didn't someone say that Marathon was supposed to come out August 3rd or am I imagining things again? Of course if it's still waiting for a rating, that probably won't happen.

The newsletter is wrong about the rating pending info... all three of those games have already been rated by the ESRB (which means they are coming out pretty soon I think).

Marathon - rated M
Supper Puzzle Fighter - rated E
Track & Field - rated E

It took some time, but XBL is officially confirmed to be AWESOME. So much great content keeps rolling in, easily the best aspect of X360.

the sharkweek thing has been up a while. i clicked on it, and to download them, i had to watch a streaming trailer first. first time i'd had that happen, but most of the time i see the euro marketplace stuff so that's probably why.

I really don't understand Shark Week. It's the same shit everytime. Some guy throws chum into the water, they put a French guy in a cage, drop him overboard, and he pokes sharks in the nose with a car antenna. We get it. Sharks are dangerous. We don't need a week of it to drive the point home. Give me a week of some other undersea animal for once. How about a week about a carp or a sea cucumber?

But... they're sharks!

What's not to understand? That's the week you stay away from your mom, sister, or girlfriend because they're moody and will lure sharks toward you if you go swimming with them!

That's only a problem if they swim faster than you.

Gamespot on Wing Commander Arena (Poor)

Hah. When I heard the direction that EA had taken with Arena, I registered at the CIC boards because I was sure that fans would be up in arms and want to talk about it. But they had already drank the Koo-Aid, and I was swiftly banned for talking smack about the game along with a few others.

One of the things they kept throwing in my face was that all the previews were glowingly positive, and that professional game journalists obviously knew more about it than I did. Oops.

Uh.. did that Alien Hominid patch add some new bugs or something? I beat 2-2 on hard and did not get the Tiara. It's the only hat I need besides beating 3-4 on hard.

edit: Nm, got it on my third try. Didn't work on the first two, haha

I've been sayin'. Switchball will turn out to be one of the best games on XBLA....ever. I've played the demo on my PC and the game is freakin' awesome.

If Marathon hits next week I'll probably get it.

Not too interested in Puzzle Fighter though. I'm sure it'll be great but that's a purely competitive game and I just don't feel all that..well..competitive.

Then again maybe I shouldn't bother at all and just concentrate on a few other games until Two Worlds comes out next week. =/

With all the awesome games on XBLA and coming to it, you'd think MS would advertise it a bit better wouldn't you...some of the stuff they have on there is so much fun.

Yep, current best part of the 360 (Pac Man CE, Catan, GW, Bomberman, Lumines, and probably about five more) and generally casual-friendly to boot and it got about 30 seconds at E3, featuring Golden Axe of all things.

I think that problem stems from the overall stance Microsoft has on the service, as in they see it as an ancillary side venture.

Anyway, I have been thinking of something interesting, bear in mind that no actual proof yet exists but it makes way too much sense for it not to happen. It is about The Brothers Tron (Tron: The Arcade Game, Discs of Tron) I think we shall see both games hit the XBLA very close to if not the same time as the Tron film. Do recall that Disney is bring films to the XBLM and there are few marketing tie-ins that they do not love.

I wouldn't bet on it, I do think they are coming soon, but not both of them this soon, but we shall not now till tomorrow.

Awesome Belle and Sebastian shirt (what I assume to be the cover of the life pursuit on t-shirt).

Anyway, would it be safe to assume puzzle fighter as a possible release for this Wednesday?

No, not really, the release window appears anywhere from next week up to mid-September, it all depends on how the TCRs goes.

Yea, some of my most anticipated games are coming out for this. Puzzle Fighter, Puzzle Quest and Castle Crashers. It's like having two systems in one really, when I can't be bothered to play a big game I usually have a quick play on Pinball FX, Castlevania or GeoWars.

I have a question, if I download games from the arcade and delete them am I able to re-download them. Why? Because I've heard that if you get a new hard drive the arcade games revert back to trial mode and you have to be signed on to play them and I won't always have xbox live.

If you're on the same X360 that purchased the content, yes you can redownload the games as many times as you want and have full access to the game. The games (and all other premium content) are tied to your Xbox 360, not to the HDD. If you try to redownload the games on a different X360, then you can only access your purchased games and other content on your gametag only and you have to be connected to XBL to play them.

But to answer your question, yes you can redownload them as long as you're using the same X360 that you used to purchase the games

I wonder how GEON: EMotions shall stack up against Switchball?
I haven't played Switchball yet, but just from looking at screens and vids, I'm going to guess that they're entirely different games.

Switchball seems to play like Marble Blast in that it's physics- and momentum-based, etcetera, where Geon's wacky level design doesn't affect that gameplay at all. Geon is just a race to collect the little dots, and switching over to the opponent's side to score a goal when you have enough dots. It's more like Pac-Man: Race Edition with wacky 3D level-design. Pretty fun, though.

Pretty much all of my most-anticipated are XBLA or PSN games. I can't help it, I love it to death. I think the idea was that a user would go to XBLA between bigger releases, but I do it the other way around -- I only play retail games between XBLA releases. :lol

Well, it is a Freeverse week this week on the XBLA.

Time to buy a new point card it seems.

Microsoft Points don't happen to be region free at all are they? I'd hope someone who bought bucketloads at Circut City can find it in their hearts to let me pay for one, assuming they ARE region free :|

Strange that it's two 800 point games this time around - usually they attempt a 800 and 400 point one.
