Hey! Only took 'em two and a half years to get Chess on Live. Nice.

I have no idea what Reversi is, but I'll be picking that up.

The game also goes by the name Othello if that helps.

Hmmm....do I buy Marathon or not? I'm not the biggest fan of Marathon but I'm curious to see the updated texture work they did in the game.

And if Spyglass is going to be 400pts, then I'm sure as hell buying that.

That's cool that you can play all 4 games at once, switching between them with the X button. Multi-tasking FTW. If the Vision cam is really well-supported, this could be the killer app that pushes people to get one.

Wow, that's really cool. I'll be buying this tomorrow night.

There's a Sudoku game coming also? I hope it has a time attack mode where you compete against another player. That'd be great.

Aww man, that Overkill achievement is ill-mannered. That's like the BCS encouraging coaches to run up the score on an already demoralized opponent.

I would concede right before my opponent took my second-to-last-piece, because that's how I roll.

Heh. Yeah, that'll be an achievement they regret. Online matches will become excruciatingly drawn out near the end and people will start to quit out of boredom.

I hope they put in a speed chess variant ie - stopclock. I'm getting a bit worried that they stripped this sucker down just to appeal to the "extreme casual" demographic.

Chess is teh hardcore, damnit.

I posted my gripe with the Overkill achievement on the official board and someone pointed out the lame duck AI (read: EZ mode) makes a perfectly suitable opponent for getting this achievement. No need to run up the score, fellas!

I would only play Chess with people I trust. Anyone else is going to get mad if you take longer than 10 seconds to make a move.

Am I the only one that wishes we could see an Indie RPG being developed for XBLA? It's something I really want to see and it seems like it would round XBLA off perfectly. Please lord?

Band of Bugs is a SRPG.

everyone who doesn't have band of bugs should at least try out the (very long) demo

it's a ton of fun
The game needs a custom mode so badly. And a few extra units. But there isn't a whole lot of competition in that genre.

I dunno if Marathon is worth it but the board games are for sure for $5. As far as Band of Bugs is concerned so many better strategy games I've played over the years that it's garbage to me. FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Vandal Hearts, Disgaea, it's just not worth my time.

The combat system in BoB has more depth than I would expect from an XBLA release, but the lack of units and configuration options really sticks out. I think that this title could be top tier if it had a few updates.

edit: Sorry, I'm just repeating myself.

It may have depth but it certainly doesn't have style, the characters and setting are stupid and it's the lack of polish that makes it an XBLA game but not a worthy purchase IMO.

From the realm of the theoretical comes this gem, an alleged fan favorite of the indie scene, a game called Braid might be hitting our favorite downloadable service. It appears to be more then wild speculation as the creator of the game is in discussions to bring Braid to the XBLA, but no deal is at hand quite yet.

Whoa! I missed this news!

I soo hope so!

Marathon is up :D

Yup. 138 megabytes for Marathon, 52-ish megabytes for Spyglass board games.

Didn't seem to be in the 'latest' selection - check Action Adventure and Camera-Enabled genres.
