Texas Hold'em is now working properly (not sure what changed). As for the "the patch was a virus and messed up all my XBLA games", those claims are still unsubstantiated.

Sorry to bump, but in all seriousness, is there ANY word on wtf is going on with XBLA?

Weren't we promised a bunch of new games before the END OF THE YEAR?

Is there absolutely any word on the next couple releases?

I think Sonic the Hedgehog and Novadrome are safe bets.

Hopefully, I really want Sonic.

My mate is going absolutely spoony that Roboblitz isnt out yet, he went on a foul tirade once I told him we were getting a Texas Hold em patch last week. I'm hoping it gets released this week so he will shut up for a bit. :lol

Is Castlevania got a chance of being released this year or is it a 2007 title?

Well I'd love Sonic with achievements. Can't wait for that.

But I thought we were getting like.. 50+ or something before the year ended, heh

2007 title.

Roboblitz, Heavy Weapon, Assault Heroes and Gyruss also seem possible for this week. Alien Hominid was scheduled for Q4 2006 as well, but it seems very doubtful it'll even get released this year... :(

Is Heavy Weapon the game that is like Ikari Warriors?

No that's assault heroes.

I'm hoping for Roboblitz, it's been out a while for the PC already so it would make sense for them to get it on XBLA shortly.

Assault Heroes was awesome at DigiLife.

Didn't someone mention RootBeer Tapper?

Man....I just want anything at this point. I'm really eager to see the XBLA: Behind The Music that explains all this someday.

Is Assault Heroes the Ikari Warriors clone? More impressions please!

Oh, I'm bad at this (and I've never played IW), but it was basically just a classic top down shooter that was really frenetic, but not hyper crazy, and very intuitive (Read: The Polar Opposite Of Small Arms). It was very rewarding in a classic way, you know like when you shoot stuff and they blink? Does that make any sense at all?

You can also get your vehicle blown up and still survive as a soldier, which results in a frenetic haul-ass to the next vehicle. Kind of like a Lost Planet Zero? :D

The greatness of this title will be directly equivalent to how many levels it has and how much they vary.

It was, in a nutshell, just incredibly fun. The kind of game that made you fall in love with XBLA in November, 2005. It doesn't shoot too far, it just does what it does very very well.

Yup, sounds like Ikari Warriors with vehicles! If it captures even half the fun of that classic, I'll be buying some MS points. I think I saw it as part of the XBLA video montage back at X06, and it looked very promising.

I agree, the package will depend heavily on the number of stages and how varied it is, along with boss fights (I'm a boss whore personally, love good boss battles) and stuff. Thanks for the impressions. :D

Now why isn't this being released instead of the crap they released the past month? ;_;

dling the demo now.....was definately going to buy this as it looked pretty interesting but due to the fact that they've decided to sell it for 1200 points! they can get screwed.......800 fine 1200 is way too high imho

It's a perfect example of a good idea gone bad...

The sound "meh" was created to describe this game...

Having a robot on a ball that can get stuck trying to jump over shite, or touch a moving platform and roll off into a spike pit, might sound like a good idea on paper, but it feels horrible trying to play it.

I'm gonna give the demo another shot later on, but unless something magical happens 1200 is too much for a clunky soulless game...

I though the demo was pretty damn good. I had some initial wierdness with the camera, but I just killed the crazy high Y-Axis sensitivity and I was good to go.

There are alot of possibilities to be had with the physics, platforming, and shooting, but I can't quite swallow that pricetag. I'll wait for a full fledged review before I drop any points.

I like it, although the controls and camera are a little rough at times. Getting the robot to move up inclined surfaces, or just to move it all while carrying a large object banging against the ground, can be a pain sometimes. It's a hell of an achievement to get a game like this under the 50 MB limit.

I've played through about three levels now, and I'm digging it. The controls are rough, and it feels a little clunky. However, the actual gameplay and puzzle solving is really original and fun. The entire game is based around physics puzzles, and they've been pretty inventive so far.

Also, once you buy an engine upgrade for your robot, going up those steep slopes becomes a lot easier.

And it is amazing that this whole thing is under 50 megabytes. That's like the size of 5 texture maps in a next-gen title.

I'm enjoying the demo so far but I'm not blown away. The robot moves a bit too clunky and seems to get hung up on the smallest of obstacles. The game itself is a technical marvel and I'm highly impressed by what they managed to cram in only 50mb of space.

I like it. Controlling Blitz takes a little getting used to but then the whole point of the game is that everything is physics based so taking that into account makes it easier.

I thought the game was great, then I got the point-to-point ability at the end of the demo.

OMG!

BEST WEAPON/TOOL THING EVAR!

Protip, hold down RT to open your arms, fire off the first part of the PtP, let your arms close around a barrel, and then fire again into the barrel.

BAM, instant swing!

The possiblitilies with that thing are downright awesome. For example, there was a bunch of the upgradium that you couldn't reach the first time playing the demo, but using the technique mentioned above, you can pretty much get anywhere.

I also had a ball making nunchuku to use as a weapon and hanging a chain of like 6 barrels from the ceiling.

For me, this thing is more awesome than the gravity gun.

At the controls/collisions: I'm actually impressed with the collision detection. I was frankly amazed that I could actually hook my arm around an edge if I wasn't careful rather than just clipping through. Because of this, you can actually roll on top of a barrel. The controls are a bit difficult to deal with at first, but once you get the hang of it (and get PtP), the game really takes off.

Geometry wars is still the best live arcade game. I found roboblitz and small arms very disappointing - nice graphics, bad controls.

Played the demo and thought it was really impressive, it almost looked like a $50 game! The controls are taking me a bit of time to get used to but I am considering biting on this game. Small Arms was pretty disappointing though, seemed like a great idea but got to be extremely frustrating fighting against the AI, and a bit too repetitive... They need to get Outfoxies up on XBLA.

Uno picture back - bullshit

Texas Hold 'em patch - horseshit

Small Arms - total shit

Robo Blitz - shitty shit

???? - I'm guessing something -shit

XBLA contiunes to dazzle me with their crap.

Those games really aren't that bad (when you change the controls). I think you hate indie developers. And freedom.

I don't hate indie developers but there's no way in hell I'm going to pony up 10 to 15 bucks for something that's not fun in any way.

But I do hate freedom. And hippies.
