Has anyone been given a banned tag without actually being banned? Like an honorary ban for bad but not terrible behavior.

The dirty secret is that mods don't give tags, admins do. So we can ask an admin to tag someone, but we can't do it ourselves.
Admins can tag posters, mods can't

Be a pretty bad poster, say something especially dumb, be a really thoughtful poster or say something really funny. Those are your options.
No drinky has a real banned tag. It's great when he posts in threads because it's normally angry posts and then people ask if he got banned for that.
