Quantic Dream is finalizing initial design documents for two next-generation projects: OMIKRON 2, the sequel to Quantic Dream's first PC hit, and INFRAWORLD, a new franchise.

Both projects are aimed at X-Box 2, PS3 consoles and for PC and will be developed on Quantic Dream's proprietary next gen' engine. The later will offer enhanced physics capabilities through a recently signed partnership with NOVODEX and a range of action orientated features. Talks are also being finalized with major middleware creators to integrate enhanced AI capabilities. More news soon…

What is Omikron: The Nomad Soul you ask?

Cool. Now give me Outcast 2!

Now that's unexpected; I didn't even know that Quantic Dream was still around.

EDIT: Oops -- I had forgotten about Fahrenheit.

wow neat. they have a download for the fahreheit trailer and it actually looks pretty cool. I dug Omnikron, as flawed as it was.

I agree that the game will only be cool if Mr. Bowie is in it again. :)

nope. Omikron was great, despite of having Bowie in it or not. I hope they get rid of those **** FPS and beat'em up sequences.

This news kicks ass. I thought Omikron was awesome. I really don't want them to ditch the FPS and hand-to-hand stuff, though--then the sequel would become nothing more than a 3D adventure. I'd prefer to see them refine the action elements from the first game, instead. A system that allows the player to slip into first-person for shooting and/or fight in third person at any time, using the special abilities/moves (if any) of whoever they're possessing, would be awesome if done right.

This is actually a great news. The original Omikron was fine, but the hardware at the time was too weak to do it any justice.

Yeah Omikron had some really cool ideas behind it....i would be very happy if they remade with the same style etc but fixed up the annoying bits.

I remember the DC version being janky as hell. Would you recommend the PC version?

yes! the dc version is just as lame, as my original pc was. now, you can run the game much more smoother.

the music was the only good thing about omrikon.

Agreed. It could have been really cool, but all of the parts that sucked were the parts I looked forward to because they were thrown in together with this potentially cool sci-fi adventure. It just didn't work, IMO. Hopefully, they get it right this time.

Nomad Soul is the game I've enjoyed most for the past 5 years. Very good news. Hope revolution could get this and other QuanticDream games. If not I'll be definetly playing it in ps3,as I don't plan on buying Xbox2.

Wow! I had forgotten about Omikron! Very cool news indeed. With better hardware and more advanced game mechanics, this game could be excellent, delivering everything the first game wanted to, but was hindered with at times due to hardware limits. Could be cool!
