Alternatively, it's a story with a pretty well executed twist and a fairly unique visual aesthetic. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember interesting stories though. I think it's actually more interesting to watch in your 30s. The original questioning of the character "what's the point of all that materialistic stuff and bullshit jobs" is more specific to that phase of your life.
