The people have to be turned into absolute morons or assholes in order for the character development to happen.
so it's accurate to reality then

That's the point and where Saitama's problems are stemming from it. It is his character and his character development.
Uh....did that prison hero dude have what I think he had in that syringe?
I'm still trying to work it out. Because it can't be what I think it is. It cant.
I really had to laugh when greasy AMMIRITE guy was like constantly undulating throughout his dumb stupid dumbass idiot speech. Such a hilarious animation decision, it really lent this car salesman-like dodginess to him even more than his basic character design
Interesting. As stoic as he likes to think he is it seems to me that Genos is cocky, arrogant and a show off, he likes the attention he gets and takes way too much pride in his battle analysis. In contrast Saitama presents himself as aloof and dumb when in reality he has a very understanding of the situations he is placed in.
In the manga he's wearing a shirt with NEET on it, I was hoping I'd see it. I guess they removed it for the anime.
Interesting.
Whenever Genos does something the animation ramps up by a lot, and then it quickly ends. Maybe this is intentional and it encapsulates Genos's character? Always trying to dash into the competition, all guns blazing only to get shot down quickly.
Hopefully Genos learns something from his hasty actions.

Thanks.
Good grief, I saw Genos' skellington
if his english VA isn't johnny young bosch, he should be quinton flynn
IT EVEN RAINED THE DAY I WAS BORRRRRNNNNNN
Got some trypophobia going on thereI'm glad that Puri-Puri is one tough cookie.
There's a thing about this series that makes me really feel the hits. This looks absolutely brutal.
Still weird with all the rape stuff, but I take it as in-universe explanation.I don't think it's actually anything bad because it's other heroes that are in the scene.
It's not a part of the main storyline but there's an extra chapter in Murata's version that deals with Pri-Pri. It shows Sonic getting thrown into the prison ward that Pri-Pri is in. It's basically the dumping ground for all of the most dangerous criminals in their world that can't be handled by regular police/prisons. It was lawless until Pri-Pri came a year or so back with one of the criminal bounties he had taken a liking too. He decided to go in himself. Pri-Pri basically forced everyone to get along or they'd be punished. In this chapter it was mentioned it would be a deep kiss (doesn't happen in the chapter) but dunno how far he goes.
Apparently, Pri-Pri does actually have a sense of justice and knows attacking innocent people is no bueno but comes up with the dumb idea that attacking criminals while arresting them would be two birds with one stone. Obviously, that's not true, lol. But at the very least Pri-Pri wouldn't do that to heroes or civilians.
It's also implied in episode 8 but he actually has a serious boyfriend and he's the one that knitted the sweater that gets ripped up during "Angel Style"

Genos when he thought Saitama got more hate mail lol
Licenseless rider is boring and annoying.
Show needs more Pri-Pri.
The anime is a good adaptation of the manga but they DO went farther in it with the antagonism Saitama is facing from the public and his reactions to it than in the manga.
I think Genos doesn't find them important for himself, but wants Saitama to get the fame and attention he deserves.Well, that's one of the angles I see him from. I think he's supposed to encapsulate 'shonen hero' complete with "cool sounding quips" and looks cool and constantly gets into battles where his body's destroyed, but he's a cyborg so he can do it to comic effect (in DBZ's and Bleach's case, they have various handwavey explanations as to why their mangled bodies heal so fast.) The fact that he was able to do that punch on the Sea King and turn around and say 'WAS THAT THE LAST OF THEM' in that "cool pose" drives that home.
Also, he says he doesn't care about certain things, like fame or his fan club, but the fact that he gets so mad over the fact that Saitama doesn't get properly recognized means that he does, in fact, think those two things are things Saitama deserves and thus 'are important.' Saitama himself is mature enough to ignore an idiot sending hate mail, but Genos gets angry.
I love shit like this. Don't know if there's a name for the style of animation, but the sacrifice of detail for really fucking smooth animation is awesome. Some people don't like that but I love it. Adds a lot of style points for me.
Btw. Why is Puri Puri Prisoner S-Rank anyways? He is a convicted rapist, one would think that would tarnish the name of the hero association..
Some people do not even unterstand the meaning of animation. It is all about movement / motion.
I often see people use the term animation when they're actually talking about the art.
There are some Naruto Episodes with this style. Like Naruto VS Sasuke (Kids) or Naruto Fox Mode VS Pain.

The difference between that fight and Genos vs Sea King is that in Genos vs Sea King that style lasted as long as it was needed.
In Naruto vs Pain it overstayed it's welcome and ended up making the fight looking like a parody or comical relief.
OPM is more of a Shounen parody and is generally labeled Seinen.I didn't think I would get back to Shonen but OPM made me do it. I really like the balance between the fights and the humor and it doesn't feel like any other shonen despite borrowing heavyly from them. I also greatly appreciate the lack of filler episodes.
I may even buy the manga when it will be available in France.

I'm usually not fond of this style, but OPM does (I dunno how) a great job with it.
I don't understand how anime (tv) nowadays still hasn't improved much on the animation part (make it more fluid, adding more animation to background stuff and characters) and try making it looking like this shot but with more details.

I'm dying
It's only possible with simpler drawings. The more detailed the design the weirder all the stretching, and distortion a will look. Not too mention it will require more man power.
When it does look like this, it is the real shit. Perfect for fight scenes.
Seen many strange people, watching scenes like this frame by frame, and complain about the "lazy animation"

That flow, that power. Sick stuff. Getting goosebumps seeing scenes like this
I feel like only a few really appreciate things like that.
