Good lord, run as far away as possible from Dreamweaver.I do a bit of web development for work and I'm getting anxious to move away from Dreamweaver. At my old job we used Visual Studio, which was great but that's not on Mac. Is Coda pretty much the go-to web dev app on Mac these days? I've been eyeing it for months now and the reviews on the app store are generally positive, though now there's a few more showing up from people saying they're outgrowing it.
Anyone use it in conjunction with Diet Coda on iPad? Is that a good combination?
I've got a huge bunch of wallpapers and I'm often looking for ones with a specific color. Is there an app to automatically group images based on their dominant color (or other criteria like size, or location if available)?
Double post!
Doing a quick Google search, apparently, iPhoto can do it, if you have it.
There's also Pixa ($30), which may be more than what you're looking for in both functionality and price. It auto-tags photos by the dominant colour.
By the way, is Java safe to use yet? I have a piece of software I need to use that requires Java, but I guess OSX had disabled it due to that recent exploit.
Is there a good app for facebook chat? I'm not really a fan of Messages
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that powerpoint projects created on Mac don't transfer 100% to PC if they are effects heavy, right?
I have to make a powerpoint featuring lots of effects and images, and I'm tired of having to go to my desktop to work on it. If I were to buy the Mac version of office and transfer the Powerpoint, I'm pretty confident that it would not be a perfect transfer and shit would be messed up.

I have to give a good review to GIFBrewery. For $5 you can easily create animated GIFs from .mov and .mp4 files. .wmv takes a bit more work and doesn't work as well (you have to download another 3rd party .wmv player) but it's still very useable. The app has definitely improved in just a couple months. You can now add texts on the screen, although it doesn't look that great. Apparently the next version will improve the caption rendering a lot so that is encouraging.
It's really great for making simple GIFs though. You can even add filters, and you can use coloring techniques to reduce the amount of colors the GIF uses so that it's smaller in size. I really like using it, and I definitely recommend it. When the caption rendering gets improved it will be very very nice.
It should be almost 1:1 when you make a PowerPoint in Office 2011 transfer that to Office for Windows (07, 10, 13).
Why would that happen? I have never had any issues, but I don't go crazy with effects either.
If anyone's interested, you can try the beta of the upcoming 2.2 update, which includes better caption rendering at http://www.helloresolven.com/betas/gifbrewery/.

I hate the way iPhoto manages photos. Is there a better alternative? Preferably no more than $15 if it's not free.
Man the Picasa interface is pretty... rough. Has anyone tried Pixa as an alternative to iPhoto? $25 is a little more than I was hoping to spend though.

Unless you really need those specific apps, I wouldn't bother. There are free and/or cheaper alternatives to some of the useful ones in there.Does anyone have any comments about the MacUpdate & MacLegion app bundles being offered now?
Is one a better deal than the other? Are they both good? Any of these apps not good? I don't have any of these apps so I am curious.
Thanks!

Are there any good ePub readers for the Mac? I'm surprised that iBooks hasn't been made into a Mac App yet.
Can anyone recommend alternative to Itunes please? There was this great music player on Windows called MediaMonkey which allowed mp3 id tagging. Meaning all the songs I had in my MediaMonkey library, when I edited them in MediaMonkey it would automatically change the file ID3 tags of that mp3 without me going into the actual folder, finding the mp3 etc or downloading an external ID3 tagger.
