Fucking August. Living in Germany sucks balls.

There's no way in hell that I won't be completely spoiled until then :/

1. I did in fact pm Mr. Sam and he was completely fine with the OT, since I already had it created.

2. Reserving OT's is a goddamn stupid practice, almost as stupid as putting the thread for said stupid practice in the gaming community forum. I will never subscribe to this practice and only pm'ed Mr. Sam because he's a cool dude I didn't want to piss off royally.

Edmond Dantes should be the only person doing The Hobbit OT, but again, reserving OT's is goddamn retarded. They should be as they always have: Either the week of their first release or when the very first reviews hit in the first month of release.

If I or anybody else create an OT in the future, I can promise you I will not have checked that silly thread which I just the other day discovered.

A lot of the stills of the trailers show a pretty big spoiler, it's annoying to watch the second trailer and then see a spoiler in one of the related videos.

It's going to be hell waiting for this while it's out in other countries.

Go to the OT thread for the real lolz.

I wonder what the guns will be like in this film. Pistols have been shown but the Prometheus art book shows a prototype Pulse Rifle.

Solo and Sculli are creating an uprising against the |OT| |OT|.

Well it's honestly the most goddamn stupid thing I've ever heard of on GAF, which is saying something. It's no wonder why we get suspiciously professional looking, 8 post long, OTs that look and read more like a piece of PR than a simple OT.

I hope you're not talking about my Avengers OT becuase that thing was created in paint. I mean really created all in paint.

Yes.

Edmond Dantes should be the only person doing The Hobbit OT, but again, reserving OT's is goddamn retarded.

Yes.

Official reservation is retarded. Informal consensus that someone has shown interest is cool. Especially if they're a fan of the property, why not let them have it. I doubt many people would argue that Dantes should do the OT for Hobbit considering the fantastic job he did with the Hobbit trailer thread. Regardless, it should be a meritocracy. If two Hobbit OTs for instance get posted within a very short span of each other, the one that people actually post in should be the one kept, not the one that was reserved in Gaming Community forum.

No, Im really talking about the gaming threads with that. A lot of them feel like they were created by the developer's themselves.

Some people are actually professional designers. So of course their OTs will look better than other, basic OTs. :P

As for claiming, I don't have problem with either method. Although I admit it's annoying to see something that you want to do already claimed by someone else who then ended up doing shitty job at it. If you're going to do OT then at least do it right.

Yes.

Agreed. But then the trailer thread is a different beast. When a trailer hits, you post it as soon as it goes up. A trailer thread doesn't need anything except a link to the goddamn trailer - because that is all people really want from that thread, which is why we had that fun last time.

But I would love to see Dantes do a (spoiler free for those who have held out on reading the book) Hobbit OT.

I don't really understand what you're so mad about. People who wanna put in the time to collect all the relevant information about a game/movie, with some nice art to surround it, should be able to do so and not have to worry about something interrupting that. As someone who creates OTs semi-regularly, it's a nice thing to have. Haven't seen an eight-post long OT in a while (I think that's because of the new rules limiting them to one post).

*shrugs* People like to make threads.

I think the problem came from artist claiming OTs out of spite. Solo rarely does OTs but if he were to do one OT in the next couple years it should be the Skyfall OT. I didn't' think anyone would have claimed that OT. Same for The Hobbit OT, give it to someone who has been really hyped for the film. Artist basically exposed the holes in that system.

Except that big personalities will always stand out in that kind of situation. And those who are not as vocal about their excitement for the movie will lose out because of it. I'm pretty sure many people are excited about each of the upcoming blockbusters but they don't always frequent/post at the related hype thread.

This is my issue. Like I said in that thread, my issue is not borne out of me wanting to do an OT, but rather having someone claim an OT for a game/movie/album who is not actually a fan of it/looking forward to it and instead is doing it do piss off others.

It would be like me claiming Halo 4's OT. I fucking hate that franchise. So why in the hell I would I claim an OT for it?

Oh, I agree with you about the question of timing and necessity of all that info in a trailer thread, I just meant that he did a great job with the content itself, and would be perfectly suited to doing the OT in the same vein.

I've seen plenty of instances where multiple people were working on OT's and discovered a ways in that they conflicted. In general I think it's a sensible thing to organize, though I'm not sure that's the best way to go about it.

I'm kind of expecting that for Halo 5. Someone's going to snag it the second it's announced.

Again, this is simply untrue.

I claimed the OTs first then came across the commotion on the OT here and Solo walked in and turned it all personal. I claimed both OTs only because they were the only two major films unclaimed. All major summer OTs are already claimed.

Oh, it's happening:

QLM5s.png

A bit steeper than I was imagining, mind you, but I'm sure it'll be well worth it.

What about TDKR?

I'm claiming TDKR if Puddles doesn't get unbanned on time.

jk I'm not a complete dick. I would want DM or Guzim to have it.

Maybe keep it to the gaming forum, given how insanely huge the media blowouts for games are online? Film OTs usually don't come in conflict because they almost never take up three quarters of the entire page like the gaming side.

Either way, stupid practice that I won't be subscribing to.

You are.

Oh wait! DM, Guzim, Speeding, all Bat-GAF should make it personal now, as per Solo's (double) standards.

Anyway, this OT revolt can be taken up with Evilore, he sanctioned it after all. This thread is where we discuss how Ridley is above all directors.

I don't do OTs. I leave that to much better men.
You're just lazy.

I'm curious, is the rest of the world forced to sit through a laser light show prior to watching a film on an IMAX screen? In Canada, we have to sit through the most annoying 5 minute laser light show that explains the history and the features of IMAX. I think it's just a Canadian Content thing since it's a Canadian product. :/

Not here in Southern California...the only thing we get is this short 30 second clip. No commercials before the movie either. Just 1-2 trailers, usually 1, and then straight to the movie.

Yes, I made the new hype thread. To be a dick? No. Because the old thread was well over 20,000 posts, and as per the GAF rules, a new thread was warranted.

Unless we're claming hype threads now :/

Twilight. You can do that OT.

Suits you.

OT5? Besides, there were quite a few alt threads that took over, yet you created this one.

Then why the "sogood.gif"? You seemed to revel in your claim.
Because, right after I claimed it. Solo walks in here and throws hissy fit at the claiming practice. It was weird timing.

If you have sufficient reasoning for thinking that then bring it up with a moderator. It would happen either way. With the thread at least you would know well in advance if someone was doing that and not the day the OT was suppose to go up. I don't see why moderators would allow someone who isn't a fan of something to make the OT over someone who is a fan unless nobody cared.

If you have sufficient reasoning for thinking that

I give you............................ your Skyfall OT creator!

Yup, grandpa Craig will have to do with whatever seconds he's got after the big boys have done their thang. So much for Solo hyping up grandpa Craig's BO draw. :lol

Martin Campbell :lol

This isnt the Bond reboot, casting Grandpas is out of the question.

Not really. Craig is now officially looking grandpa Bond.

I liked the opening sequence, the rest of the "little" action was decent. I wouldnt call it one of the best of the decade over one sequence alone, which was inspired by Bourne'ish sequences.

Aww, I see that the next Bond movie getting delayed is showing signs. Suicide watch was correct.

Finally we agree on something, its great that you didnt got sucked in CR either. What an painful movie it is for a re-watch ..

Is that what you call sane people? Nolan has not made a bad movie yet, Bond? 20 something odd. I'm glad to be on the right side. :P :D

.

Bond fans can cry bitter tears. Sole contender for longest series with lowest grosses. :D

Bourne is no where close to Bond's fan following, yet they are making similar amount of money proves how good movies dont need a "following".

In terms of quality, Bond movies (this reboot with Craig) is good but it wont come anywhere close to BU.

Solo is the most homoerotic guy here in GAF.

He's not the worst, not the best either. No one can even come close to SSSSHEAN!

That said, CR sucked.

:lol

And this whole thread is good for a laugh.

But this guy clearly doesn't have an axe to grind with me and clearly is a huge Bond fan and is making the OT for honest purposes, AMIRITE?!
