Knifehead-kun is 4 year-old. He gave me his business card and saw zipper on his back.

Del Toro with that smile in every picture. It is infectious. That man is truly living in the moment without ego. What a dream come true eh :)

Man, those beautiful laughing eyes of Del Toro. He seems to enjoy this so much!
Hopefully it will pay of for him and we will see another movie!

I can't believe this movie is not a bigger hit...

It's fun looking back at the first round of twitter reviews which included Kojima and Kanye and some people thinking they were full of crap. Granted, both gentlemen were predisposed to enjoying something like Pacific Rim, but it doesn't change the fact that the majority of people who have watched it did enjoy the movie.

I just wanna thank all of you non-Americans who have much better taste in film than us that went out and threw your money at Del Toro to see this. I want a fucking sequel and my American brothers have let me down.

Oh God, this fucking interview.

"Guillermo so kind...he sing theme song to Totoro in Japanese..."

I'm quoting this because I just watched the Pacific Rim Cinemax Final Cut interview with the entire cast (it's on Cinemax On Demand). Rinko said that Guillermo would actually sing the Totoro theme to her in Japanese to motivate her on the set. In this same interview she said she would think about chocolate and teddy bears to get her through the rough scenes (I think this has been mentioned in the thread before). She would also eat tons of chocolate on the set.

Oh, and she mentions how nervous she was during the audition for the Mako Mori character, so nervous that Del Toro took her out for ice cream. Damn you Del Toro.

Read the first post on this page and I want to know if this is worth watching in 3D? Is the effect good enough to go through the hassle with the bulky glasses or should I just opt in for the regular 2D?

Anyway seeing this on friday :)

I'd say go watch it in 2D. There is so much going on, 3D is almost a distraction. Also, Del Toro himselft said, this movie was always meant to be a 2D movie (something about the big monster work better in 2D or such), but Legendary insisted on a 3D conversion after the film was shot.

I saw it in 2d and 3D and I liked 2D better.

Mentioned in spoiler thread that I saw it in "plain old" 2D today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was also surprised that on this well-beyond-release-date Monday matinee there were still 20 people in the theater.

Would have seen it at release here in the U.S. but schedule has been tight. I see very few movies in theaters but glad I finally got to this one.

I distinctly remember saying gaf would love this despite the overwhelming negativity leading up to its release. I'm glad it was a critical success. And by the way, the sword was a last resort as the monster blood is supposedly highly toxic.

I read the year zero comic last night and can confirm it is shown to be very toxic, one person has some land on him and is dead hours later.

just got back from the theaters, and i have to say it was amazing! Charlie Day is so awesome i think he made the movie.......also the giant fighting robots........

Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but this article says that the sequel happening hinges on the performance in China. Sounds plausible enough, but this quote...

It prominently features key Chinese characters who pilot Crimson Typhoon, one of the film's nastiest robots. The final battle takes place in Hong Kong.

We all know how the Chinese guys did in the movie.

I have a confession to make. I have now seen Pacific Rim four times.

i have seen it 5 times already.... *sigh* and i would see it again

I want to see it again. When are they going to pull it from theaters? I can't see it for most of the rest of the week, and don't want it to disappear before getting the chance.

Well,at least the IMAX 3D midnight showing here (China) in my area is almost sold out, looking good!

Can't wait to finally catch this movie this weekend. I'm gonna watch it on IMAX 3D with a bit of help from Mary Jane, I'm expecting great things.

MJ in China? You're a brave man!

in the next movie at the end when a cat 6 appears they should have all the remaining jaegers reveal their secret weapon and they all combine into one mega jaeger

No one here cares if you smoke it, shit..I live in China's 3rd biggest city (Guangzhou) and I smoke J's in front of the theater or restaurants here all the time. Not many people here are exposed to MJ...so they have no idea what the smell is.
