Path of Exile 2 Early Access |OT| An Exile like ARPG.

Really loving the changes...minus the accidental running, stumbling and getting kicked when i am down lol

I started playing this. How long does this game take to level up the character fully and start doing whatever current end-game is?

I think the speedrun record is about 6 hours? If it's your first time, I wouldn't really worry about it. The campaign is an enjoyable process and if it's your first time, I recommend you experience it for what it is. There isn't any rush to get into the endgame. If you really want to blast past it, though, you can. Going in blind, I'd say it might take around 12 to 20 hours depending on how much experimenting you do.

Loving everything about this update. Playing Ranger Finished up last night just before the end of Act One.

Only minor quibble is I'm melting bosses but not sure if that's a combination of I know what I'm doing now and my drops have been great or they made it much easier.

Found a nice cap that give +30 res to all elements and +10 magic find. :messenger_sunglasses:

Using ranger now, feel good but not great, it's play style doesn't really satisfy me, probably gonna try something new before going to act 2... For the rest it's been a great update, the game is really shaping to be a worth successor

Game has me hooked. Played way later then I would normally, had to get some done around the house and took some time to play some more. Really loving the changes...minus the accidental running, stumbling and getting kicked when i am down lol

Yep, same here. This is its best form by far. Up past 4am today. oops

Worst thing I've found about this game is when you play same screen co-op you can't ressurect your friend if there is a skill mapped to the A or X button. You're supposed to hold it and a split second after it begins to ressurect it starts casting the skill. It's odd they didn't catch that since I'm guessing it would also be a problem with online parties on controller.

man I am glad this game isn't F2P yet. Cocaine ain't got shit on this game.

And that Pet eating other pets is just genius. GGG deserves all this success. Now bring back regional pricing.

I loved PoE 2 before this update, now its even better! 200 hours in, i feel this one will be a game where i will go 2000hours+ easily the coming years.( Destiny is the only game doing that before for me, thx bungie for destroying that game i guess)

Knocked out Act 1 on a Mercenary. Had fun shooting things with the crossbow. Typed the Mercenary into the googles and youtubes and everything is about grenade builds and ballistas and also you should use a mace. Getting to the point where the passive skill tree is starting to intimidate me again. And not really looking forward to Act 2 and 3 with the stupid desert and disgusting swamp... it's kind of like going from Westeros and having a great time and then GRRM is like okay we're going to talk about Dany in some fucking pyramids on the other side of the planet for 600 pages now.

Does Act 4 take place somewhere cool?

Bugs (playing on PS5 pro)
- Sound gets crazy on the new events with lots of enemies
- can't resurrect friend in co op if there's a skill in X button. It starts but quickly does the bound action which interrupts the res
- Sometimes the crossbow doesn't reload?
- Sometimes my friend ended up in a different instance. Going to town and back (or taking his portal) solved it.

There are other random things like temp hang ups.

Quest sync between players is odd. Or I got used to the D4 system.

Edit: game seems easier. At least the bosses do, to me.

Been playing the beta a bit on PS5, it's pretty fun but man the character storage is so small, feel like I have to return to town constantly to sell stuff. It's getting really old. They should just make the character able to hold more.

the inventory tetris game is also 'classic' but unnecessary. These complaints were also made by a friend that tried the game 1st time this weekend - and he never played Diablo.
I don't think it would hurt stash tab sales.

Just finished Act 1 as a Monk. Had trouble with the Act Boss, but I also knew what I was getting into playing this particular melee class.
Still, getting to use the Quarterstaff with some Ice and Lightning abilities was fun.

Am I the only one that can feel the slight input delay when moving your character? Pretty sure the first game felt similar on console too.
Its the lockstep network problem . Your input need to be send to the server (and send back to your pc) before the character moving on your screen . The higher your ping, the worse it feels .

Some game only do lockstep with ability/spell . But this game included the movement too iirc .

Yes
They changed it due to PoE1 having abysmal rubber banding and stutter when moving. That lead to you not being able to go through doors because your characters actual position was slightly to the side of the position you were seeing on screen among other problems.
All of that was gone when they introduced lockstep. So I take a bit of input delay over it.

Just finished my first session over the PS Portal at work, that introduces a bit of delay and lag on top of it... I'll have to accept some disconnects and deaths, but it's worth it being able to level at work breaks (on top of all the other stuff I can now play here and not being tied to the Switch 2 :messenger_sunglasses: )

I don't think it would hurt stash tab sales.

I had an idea that I think would work. Leave the character inventory the same size, but add a "mark as trash" function that compacts any item into a 1x by 1x size square. Then you could choose to salvage or sell any item you marked and compacted, but there wouldn't be a way to unmark an item without returning to town. As for protecting stash tab sales, they could also make it so you couldn't leave town with compacted trash items in your inventory. So it would help you return to town less frequently, but it couldn't just be used as an extra inventory for things you want to keep.

I think that would help matters, but it does seem like something that would take a fair bit of effort to program. I think it makes sense as a concept, though, unless there are some other downsides that I didn't consider.

I have not noticed input lag. I play with a controller on PC with the PoE2 launcher.

I'm located pretty near to the game server though so that should explain it.

I only experience of POE 1 was in the beta when it had just 2 acts and the full release when it had 3. I only dabbled in it a bit on and off since then. This game seems a lot better to me from the little I played.
I like the change in controls, the dodge and run and the skill and strategy involved in using the skills. Animations and skill effects are some of the best. Lost Arks attack animations and effects might be the only ones that look better but I couldn't get into that game.

I really like those vid demonstrations of the skills and their applications. Can those be seen outside of the game? I couldn't find those on the official site.

Hollow monk is so good. I just wish you could customize the animations or that it would increase the amount of animations as you level.

Tried huntress for a while and gave up. This class is such cheeks to level. Ugh.

Did Sorc and did all the huntress content in a fraction of the time.

Sorc feels much better to level than even before.

Also, ps5 pro performance and visuals are in a good state in act1. Great update.

I tried ranger for a bit and immediately went back to mercenary. No thanks.

Hows Merc this season? Less clunky?

I liked what i played in 0.2 but the reloading didn't feel quite right.

My first time playing, have no idea about other seasons. But when I found out you could move and shoot at the same time I was like oh this game is a Shmup but with a different skin! So that that's how I've been playing it lol

I pilot my character around and shoot stuff, mercs "crossbow" is basically an all purpose assault rifle with grenade attachment lmfao

I really hate the fact that in Diablo you have to stand still every time you shoot. Ruins the game for me. Being able to move and shoot makes it almost like twin stick shooter or Shmup like I said. I like this style a lot more.

Yeah I play on pad and its like one of the best twin stick shooters ever.

Act 1 and 2 were always ok. Act3 was when performance dropped significantly. But I just started act 3 and it feels better than before, so good news I guess!

Performance absolutely shits the bed in the endgame to the point of being unplayable apparently(all formats).

Lucky for me I'll probably not make it again lol.

But performance thus far has indeed been improved for me so far on PC. Act 3 currently.

I've been doing Merc, though from some POE2 class site it seems like it's not very popular this season. Old to most, but new to me situation I suppose. Anyway, plays quite nice with WASD as well. In Hades I played controller for everything except the machine-gun-ish weapon. Freeze->Fragment loop has been doing the trick so far with the occasional nade spam.

PoE 2 Early Access is looking pretty sweet so far — upgraded visuals, smoother systems, and you get to dive into the first half of the story. It's a solid chance for fans to jump in early and mess around with all the new toys before the full game drops.

So what about content right now, there are 4 acts as of right now, right? Do we still repeat the acts on higher difficulty or what?

No you do the 4 acts then there are 2 "interludes". New side stories that are filler for acts 5 & 6. They are quite meaty apparently. They will go into the end game once the game is finished so the content won't be wasted.

No cruel difficulty anymore.
