Holy shit... Such a legend. Slap Shot was one of my favorite movies ever. And his organic food products are great, I've eaten gallons of his salsa over the course of my lifetime.

RIP

Total class act. Married for 50 years. Huge donor to charities. Passionate activist. One hell of an actor and collaborator. A life well lived.

RIP

Suggested movies to watched to commemorate his passing:
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid
The Sting (won best picture)
Slap Shot (goofy hockey comedy)
The Hustler
Cool Hand Luke
Cars (Hey . . . F U haters.)

Edit: The Verdict (How could I forget that movie about a lawyer!)

Newman's thick, creamy sauce all over my mouth and dribbling down my chin. I fucking love that sauce and I don't care who knows it!

Fucking Newman, man! Fucking thing sucks! I never knew he was that god damn old though.

he's the greatest.

good lemonade, too.

It was that guy? Fuck.

I always wondered who he was.

When I worked retail I always enjoyed stocking his products because he donated the profit to charity.

How could you not know who Paul Newman was?
Really....

I think his work in Cool Hand Luke is one of the greatest acting performances ever, in a career that was packed with memorable performances. One of the best actors in Hollywood's history. *standing ovation*

"Nobody gets out of life alive." -- Paul Newman, Hud (1963).

Jim Morrison ripped it off.

No Hud? Arguably his finest role?

You know, I got a hunch, fat man. I got a hunch it's me from here on in. One ball, corner pocket. I mean, that ever happen to you? You know, all of a sudden you feel like you can't miss? 'Cause I dreamed about this game, fat man. I dreamed about this game every night on the road. Five ball. You know, this is my table, man. I own it.

R.I.P.

Awesome actor and one helluva philanthropist. 100% of all the profits from his food line went to charities. Quite amazing, actually.

Watching Slap Shot right now. The way he says "fuckin" in this film is the way everyone should say it ("phfuckin!").

Rest in peace. One of the true greats.

RIP Paul, you are a true legend.

So many of his movies were must see, including my favourites...

The Sting
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid
The Hudsucker Proxy
Road To Perdition
The Hustler - Probably screwed out of an Oscar(Best Actor)
The Color of Money - Where he won his Oscar(Best Supporting) playing the same role as in The Hustler

I am ashamed that have never got around to Cool Hand Luke, but now I definitely will.

ROAD TO PERDITION WAS SO FUCKING GOOD.

He was a great actor...I'm a bit ashamed at all the people that know him only because of produce.

I envy you being able to see it for the first time. I said it before but it bears repeating:

"Nobody evah eat fifty eggs. Nobody."

It sucks that he's gone, and Cool Hand Luke was just on the other day. I always thought he was in his 70s, though. The man definitely aged quite well till the end.

Oh man, what about Cars 2!!!

IMO, Bud Luckey is the man to do the role now.

He was the narrator in Boundin' and he's a veteran animator at Pixar anyway.

I though Doc and that Narrator had the same voice at first!

Shame about Paul, he did a fantastic job as Doc. I never watched his other work, but I'll miss him just the same if I did anyway. :'(

that sucks. i was just reading a special on cool hand luke in empire, and now this happens. i haven't seen much of work, but i plan on doing so. i'm probably gonna watch the hustler pretty soon; i loved the color of money, which is kinda a sequel, right? should be pretty awesome.
